Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 205: Chapter 205: Tactical Deployment, What Tactics Can a Cockroach Have?

One hundred and forty students, twenty from each of the seven academies, gathered together before the main platform.

Behind them were the expectant and passionate gazes of tens of thousands of people.

This was the Grand Academy Competition. They were fighting for their academies, and even more so, for everyone within them!

Depart!

At Chen Shouzheng’s command, all the competing students began heading toward the Secret Realm entrance, located in another part of the campus.

However, the other students on the grand field would not be leaving. The deans and teachers of each academy would also remain, staying there all day to await the competitors’ return.

Meanwhile, the competition would be broadcast live.

Long before today, teachers had entered the Secret Realm to install cameras in its main areas. During the competition itself, other teachers would follow the action with handheld cameras, providing live tracking footage.

Although the Shadowland was too vast to film the entire event, they were unlikely to miss any of the major, exciting battles.

On the main platform, an immense screen slowly rose into view.

The screen currently displayed a view of the entrance to the Shadowland Secret Realm.

…

All the competitors had arrived at the entrance to the Shadowland and were now putting on their equipment.

What kind of equipment?

First, there was the Combat Suit.

When a competitor suffered a potentially fatal injury, the Combat Suit would activate a Guardian Aura capable of blocking most Attacks from the Fifth-Grade Realm. The Guardian Aura could be triggered manually or automatically. Regardless of how it was activated, its appearance signified that you had “died” in the competition and were eliminated.

Second, a smart tracking watch.

The watch could not be removed. It contained a positioning chip that tracked each student’s location in real time.

Finally, a designated Storage Ring.

To prevent cheating, all competitors had to remove any personal spatial storage Magical Treasures before entering the Secret Realm and wear the competition’s designated Storage Ring instead. This ring had no ownership-binding function, meaning anyone could open it. If it was stolen, its contents would belong to the new owner.

Within the Beast Taming Academy’s team.

Chu Sheng also had to wear this equipment.

Fortunately, Shepherd Mountain had filed a special request in advance, so his Combat Suit, watch, and Storage Ring were all custom-made in a cockroach style.

Right now, one of the New Roach Battle Treasure’s front feelers wore a miniature version of the watch, while the other wore a miniature Storage Ring.

Chu Sheng felt no discomfort about this at all.

After all, it wasn’t actually on his body. He was currently lounging in the New Roach Battle Treasure’s cockpit.

Finally, all the competitors were ready.

Chen Shouzheng’s gaze swept over the crowd as he announced:

“The Grand Competition will officially begin in ten minutes.”

“The Shadowland has a unique property. Upon entry, everyone will be teleported to a random location within the Secret Realm, though most likely somewhere in the outer regions. In other words, your academy teams will be scattered from the very beginning.”

“Therefore, if you have any strategies, you should use this time to discuss them.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the competing teams from each academy quickly gathered to whisper amongst themselves.

Over with the Array Academy team.

Their captain was a male student at the Peak of Fifth-Grade named Wang Haichen.

He wasn’t participating in the strategy discussion. They had already settled on their strategy last night; there was no need for any last-minute cramming.

In fact, he was originally just the reserve captain.

The position had originally been reserved for Gu Yuexi.

The Array Academy’s dean, Zhao Hongwu, had been certain Gu Yuexi would join his academy. In his mind, regardless of her actual combat strength, her status as the Future Empress alone meant the captaincy had to be hers.

But Wang Haichen refused to accept it.

’So what if she’s the Future Empress? I was the captain throughout the selections and training, and my realm is higher than hers. Why should I have to give up my position the moment she arrives?’

But there was nothing he could do. The dean’s decision was not something he could change.

But in the end, the unexpected happened… Gu Yuexi chose the Elixir Academy, not the Array Academy.

When he heard about Gu Yuexi’s decision, Wang Haichen had sneered inwardly.

He thought this Future Empress had probably gotten full of herself. ’Just a girl at the Third and Fourth-Grade Realm, does she really think she’s invincible?’

’Still, it’s better that she didn’t join our academy!’

’This way, I’m still the captain. More importantly, I’ll have the chance to defeat this Future Empress myself! It doesn’t matter if it’s a case of the strong bullying the weak; the fame from defeating the Empress alone will be enough to make my name!’

Over with the Elixir Academy team.

Gu Yuexi had, as a matter of course, become the captain.

She looked at all the members of her team and began to speak, her tone calm:

“According to the rules, the coordinates of all competitors will be revealed once right after we enter the Secret Realm. After that, they will be revealed once every hour.”

“So, after the first coordinate reveal, everyone should move toward their nearest teammate. Do the same after the second reveal. We will aim to have the entire team gathered by the third reveal.”

“In the early stages, don’t worry about killing Demon Beasts. If you encounter students from other academies, avoid confrontation if possible.”

“Understood?”

Meanwhile, within the Beast Taming Academy’s team, everyone was looking expectantly at Chu Sheng… Unfortunately, their captain couldn’t speak.

’How is he supposed to lead if he can’t even talk?’

Chu Sheng’s eyes shifted, and he looked down at the smart watch on his feeler. The watch had functions similar to a small smartphone. He then extended his other feeler and began tapping rapidly on the screen.

Two seconds later, he gestured to the others with his feeler.

The Beast Taming Academy members quickly gathered around him, peering down at the screen of his watch.

On it were four large words:

“Act… on… your… own.”

The team members: “…”

…

On the grand field, the huge screen on the main platform was now split into seven smaller panes, each displaying the pre-competition preparations of one of the seven teams.

Just then, someone finally noticed the feed from the Beast Taming Academy.

A sudden roar of laughter erupted from the crowd on the field:

“Hahaha, this is killing me! Look what the Beast Taming Academy team is doing!”

“All the other teams are actively preparing and discussing strategy, but they’re just over there staring blankly at each other.”

“And why is that? Because their captain is a freaking Demon Beast that can’t even talk! Hahahahaha!”

“Hahahaha, exactly! I’d say not only can it not talk, it doesn’t even have a brain!”

“Even if it could talk, what kind of strategy could a Demon Beast possibly come up with?”

“Look at the baffled expressions on the team members’ faces. Honestly, I almost feel sorry for them…”

At the very edge of the field, in the Beast Taming Academy’s designated section, many students clenched their fists as they listened to the mockery from the other academies.

Some students also began to doubt their dean’s decision.

’Even if the Divine Locust is powerful and has high Spiritual Wisdom, was it really necessary to make it the captain?’

’And why isn’t Su Li saying anything or laying out a strategy? Why is everyone just standing around like idiots?’

’Have they already given up on the competition?’

’Is the Beast Taming Academy really a lost cause?’
