Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 203: Chapter 203: Chu Sheng Has a New Master? The Empress Is Jealous

The fact that Gu Yuexi was coming to participate in the academy-wide competition had only been announced to the senior management of each academy; it hadn’t been made public.

Chu Sheng didn’t know.

None of the students from the Beast Taming Academy knew, either.

Therefore, when Gu Yuexi appeared before the tens of thousands of students assembled in their formations, the field instantly erupted.

“Holy crap, what’s going on? Lin Zhixia is here!”

“The Future Empress is going to participate in the academy-wide competition too? This is going to be good.”

“I wonder which academy she’ll choose to join! Why not join our Mind Master Academy!”

“But isn’t she too young? Her realm is probably only around the Third or Fourth Grade. The ones representing the academies are all third and fourth-year seniors. The weakest of them are at the Fifth-Grade Realm!”

“True, at Lin Zhixia’s age, she should only be starting her freshman year in a couple of months. Being at the Third or Fourth Grade at eighteen is already insane, but isn’t it a bit of a stretch for her to be in the academy competition?”

“What the hell do you know? Did you not watch the last Spirit Martial Eternity match? Even though Lin Zhixia is only at the Sea of Consciousness Third Transformation, she could already easily defeat a Fifth-Grade Early Stage opponent. If it weren’t for that cockroach cheating, there’s no way she would’ve lost!”

“Exactly! You think the title ’Future Empress’ is some kind of joke?”

“Empress! Empress! Empress! Empress!!!”

“Empress! Empress! Empress! Empress!!!”

Someone started the chant, and soon, cries of “Empress” echoed across the field.

The chants grew louder and more numerous, quickly swelling into a thunderous roar from tens of thousands of people, shaking the very heavens!

Lin Zhixia’s fame was no joke. She had an amazing figure, and while her looks weren’t Top-Grade, they were still first-class. But what truly set her apart was her aura, as if a real Empress had descended. Because of this, more than half of the tens of thousands of students present saw her as their goddess and idol!

Her participation might not decide the final outcome, but it undoubtedly raised the excitement and public interest in the academy-wide competition by several levels!

“Empress! Empress! Empress! Empress!!!”

The chanting continued, growing even more intense!

To be honest, most people really wouldn’t be able to handle a scene like this.

But for Gu Yuexi, this seemed like a small affair. She stood calmly before the tens of thousands, not the least bit flustered, as if this was all to be expected.

Her gaze slowly swept over the formations of the seven academies, finally landing on the Beast Taming Academy at the very edge.

When she saw the giant cockroach at the front, a flicker of emotion finally crossed her calm face.

’Hmph, so that damned mosquito is competing too?’

’Hm? No, wait, who’s that standing next to it? If it’s participating as a Demon Beast, does that mean it has to acknowledge a temporary Master?!’

At this thought, Gu Yuexi suddenly felt a pang of displeasure.

’Fine, you damned mosquito! So you went and picked out a consort for yourself, have you?’

’As my, this Empress’s, Contracted Beast, how could you acknowledge someone else as your Master? Not even a temporary one is acceptable!!’

’Just you wait, damned mosquito.’

…

Finally, the bell rang again.

Principal Chen Shouzheng began to speak, quieting the cheers from the crowd. All the deans also returned to the front of their respective academy’s formations.

Chen Shouzheng walked up to her side and said in a clear voice:

“Miss Lin, welcome to Hong Kong Island University on a temporary basis. Of course, the new semester starts in September, and at that time, we at Hong Kong University will hold a grand ceremony to welcome you as an official student.”

From Chen Shouzheng’s perspective, Lin Zhixia was currently a Hong Kong Islander, and the best university on Hong Kong Island was Hong Kong University. Therefore, unless she wanted to attend a university on the mainland, Hong Kong University was certainly her best option.

Chen Shouzheng’s words naturally carried the intention of recruitment.

After a pause, Chen Shouzheng continued:

“So, from now on, I’ll just call you Lin.”

“Lin, as you can see, our Hong Kong University has seven great academies: Array, Mind Master, Feng Shui, Warlock, Elixir, Artifact Refining… and Beast Taming. Each academy is Top Notch on a national level, and they are all prepared for this academy-wide competition.”

“Have you decided which academy you’d like to join?”

As his voice fell, all the students on the field held their breath in anticipation.

Including the seven deans at the front of each academy.

Among them, the Array Academy’s formation was in the very center of the field, so the Dean of the Array Academy, Zhao Hongwu, was closest to Gu Yuexi.

Zhao Hongwu was currently looking at Gu Yuexi with an ingratiating smile.

In fact, ever since he learned that Gu Yuexi would be temporarily joining Hong Kong University, Zhao Hongwu had been trying every means to win her over, sending friendly signals with great diligence. Unfortunately, Gu Yuexi had never given a clear indication.

However, in Zhao Hongwu’s mind, the academy Gu Yuexi was most likely to join was still his own. The Array Academy was ranked number one at Hong Kong University, not to mention that Gu Yuexi’s great opportunity, the Heart Sea Glazed Tower, was also located within the Array Academy.

Not only that, but the Array Academy was the one that had won the academy-wide competition the most times in the past few years!

By all logic and reason, she should choose the Array Academy.

Meanwhile, the deans of the other academies also had their own schemes.

For example, the Dean of the Mind Master Academy, Li Moyuan, also believed Gu Yuexi would choose the Mind Master Academy. The reason was simple: Gu Yuexi’s various Spiritual Secret Techniques were so powerful, she must be a Spiritual Mind Master. And a Spiritual Mind Master would surely choose the Mind Master Academy.

Every dean had their own little calculations.

Except for Shepherd Mountain… he was the only one in the entire field who held no hope at all.

…

“Principal Chen, can you wait a moment?”

After Gu Yuexi spoke, she walked toward the formation on the far left, arriving in front of the Artifact Refining Academy’s formation and glancing at it.

Then, she proceeded to the next formation, and the next. She only glanced at each one, barely pausing at all.

Finally, Gu Yuexi walked to the front of the Beast Taming Academy’s formation… and stopped.

A sudden uproar swept through the entire field.

“Huh? No way, Lin Zhixia isn’t going to choose the Beast Taming Academy, is she?”

“Impossible! She doesn’t even have a Contracted Beast, how could she possibly choose the Beast Taming Academy!”

“Exactly, the Beast Taming Academy is dead last every year. If Lin Zhixia joins them, she’ll just get dragged down.”

“That’s right, the Future Empress is here for the academy-wide competition. Even if she doesn’t get first place, she can’t get last, right? That would be too embarrassing to talk about!”

The many students began to whisper amongst themselves, one after another.

And at that moment, the students of the Beast Taming Academy were also baffled. They too had thought that “Lin Zhixia” wouldn’t pick their academy, but what was the meaning of this?

If the Empress really joined their academy, what kind of attitude should they have?

But, although they found it strange, they would still be incredibly happy if the Future Empress really joined them… ’Still, is it really possible?’

At the very front of the Beast Taming Academy’s formation, Gu Yuexi finally spoke:

“Dean Mu, I’d like to ask you a question.”

“This Cockroach Demon Beast will also be participating in this competition, correct?”

Shepherd Mountain was taken aback for a moment, then nodded.

“Yes, Miss Lin.”

Gu Yuexi glanced at Chu Sheng and continued:

“In that case, may I ask who its Master is?”

As she spoke, Gu Yuexi’s gaze swept over the few people at the very front, one by one, before finally resting on Su Li’s face.

’Damned mosquito, this new Master you’ve acknowledged is quite a looker. Do you just like acknowledging School Beauties and department beauties as your Master?’

’Running away from me, this Empress and School Beauty, to acknowledge an academy beauty as your Master, is that it!’

Under Gu Yuexi’s gaze, Su Li’s expression stiffened, and she suddenly felt immense pressure. However, she still clenched her jaw and bravely met Gu Yuexi’s eyes.

A drop of cold sweat trickled down her forehead unconsciously.
