Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Chapter 217: Chapter 217: Truly Impressed This Time, the Beast Taming Academy Has Really Found a Treasure

Outside the Secret Realm, on the Central Playground.

The image on the screen froze. The crowd stared blankly at the massive display, as if they, too, were frozen in time.

The entire venue was silent for several long seconds.

Then, a tremendous roar of voices erupted!

“First place! We really got first place!”

From the Beast Taming Academy’s section, located at the very edge of the crowd, came the first earth-shattering cheer!

All the students leaped to their feet, their faces flushed bright red with excitement!

Some were so overwhelmed they could no longer control themselves and began to sob:

“First place… we really did it! We won’t be demoted, and we won’t have to use the other academies’ leftover resources anymore.”

“WAAAH…”

“This is great! This is just great!”

On the massive screen, the scene came to life again. Inside, among the Beast Taming Academy’s contestants, some were cheering while others were weeping.

And at the center of the screen was the giant cockroach—undoubtedly the star of the show, the absolute center of attention.

“The Divine Locust! It was the Divine Locust who won us first place! And Su Li! Su Li was amazing too! Everyone was amazing!”

“Yeah! In just a few short minutes, the Divine Locust turned everything around. Was this all part of its plan?”

“From this day forward, you can all call me a Shabi, because I actually dared to doubt the Divine Locust…”

“Me too! I’m a Shabi too! I’m the biggest, dumbest Shabi of all! Hahaha!!!”

This group of goofballs from the Beast Taming Academy was so worked up they were becoming incoherent.

Excitement, emotional fervor, and even a hint of guilt spread through the Beast Taming Academy students. All their previous doubts and confusion had transformed into a near-worshipful trust in the giant cockroach.

In short, in this moment, they were truly… happy.

…

Meanwhile, the students from the other six academies watched them with undisguised envy.

In just half an hour, they had witnessed Gu Yuexi’s dominant elimination of all her opponents, only for her to be eliminated by Chu Sheng in the end. The twists and turns were dizzying… Though disappointed, the members of the other six academies were more overcome by an indescribable shock.

“Sigh, it looks like the Beast Taming Academy is really going to rise up this time.”

“Can’t be helped. That giant cockroach is really something else. I don’t know how it made the Inner Core disappear at the end, but the fact that it defeated Empress Lin twice is proof enough.”

“Yeah, Empress Lin jumped two whole realms to take down He Chuan, who’s at the Sixth-Grade Early Stage. Who would’ve thought someone even more ferocious existed?”

“Lin Zhixia is still a beast, living up to her name as the Future Empress. But even she was completely suppressed by that giant cockroach. How awesome is that?”

“Damn it, I get it now. That giant cockroach must’ve been playing dumb to fool us, right? Pretending to be a pig to eat the tiger.”

“Totally. I bet it deliberately threw away the Inner Core worth eight hundred Points, just to win by a measly 5 points. What a show-off.”

“What can you do? The thing is a badass. It can show off however it wants. Anyway, I’m convinced this time…”

“Yeah, the Beast Taming Academy really struck gold this time…”

“By the way, who was it that said they were going to slice Kunkun into ten thousand pieces? My family’s ancestral blade techniques are ready…”

Envy and amazement replaced their earlier mockery.

In a world where strength reigns supreme, even a cockroach could command everyone’s respect.

…

At the Secret Realm Exit, in the waiting area, contestants from the other academies watched with complicated expressions as the Beast Taming Academy members swarmed around their champion, cheering excitedly.

Elsewhere, Gu Yuexi stood frozen in place, and had been for a long time.

’I lost.’

’I lost again.’

’I lost the individual duel, and now, after giving my all in the academy grand competition, I’ve lost that too.’

’But… I tried so hard. I displayed power far beyond my current realm. Why did I still lose to that damned mosquito?’

An indescribable bitterness and dejection washed over her, leaving her feeling weak. The confidence she had carried since her rebirth had suffered a major blow.

’Am I, the Empress, truly fated to be suppressed by this damned mosquito for my entire life?’

’What… what in the world did I form a contract with?’

Gu Yuexi, who had always held herself in high esteem and disregarded everything else, was truly despondent this time, sinking into deep self-doubt.

She glanced at the Divine Locust being mobbed by the crowd, a bitter smile touching her lips as she muttered:

“That’s my Contracted Beast, you know. Mine.”

“Whatever. It’s not like that damned mosquito cares about me…”

Gu Yuexi lowered her head, feeling even more dejected.

Just then, she felt a tickle on her neck.

Two antennae poked her cheek. Gu Yuexi turned her head to see the cockroach on her shoulder and snorted.

“Damned mosquito, what are you doing here?”

“HISS… HISSSSSS… HISSSSSSSSSSSS, HISSS, HISS.”

Gu Yuexi: ???

’Hiss your head off! What are you trying to say?’

Chu Sheng extended a cockroach leg, pointed to himself, and then pointed to Gu Yuexi.

“HISS.”

Gu Yuexi paused, then said in a low voice:

“Are you saying that no matter how powerful you are, you’re still my Contracted Beast?”

As she said this, Gu Yuexi’s eyes lit up, and the gloom in her heart vanished. ’That’s right! No matter how powerful that damned mosquito is, he’s still my Contracted Beast. The Blood Covenant is unbreakable! Why am I even competing with him?’

However, just as she finished speaking, she saw Chu Sheng shake his head and point emphatically at himself again.

“HISS, HISSS.”

Gu Yuexi’s eyes widened.

“Are you saying… the Blood Covenant is unbreakable, sure, but it’s not yet decided who is the Master and who is the beast?”

“You damned mosquito, get lost!”

Gu Yuexi’s fleeting good mood was instantly ruined by anger, and she threw a punch at the big cockroach on her shoulder.

Chu Sheng let out a sly chuckle and coolly flew away.

Nearby, a few people who saw Gu Yuexi grinding her teeth shook their heads. It seemed Empress Lin and that cockroach really didn’t get along. But that cockroach was really something else; it had already won, so why go and provoke her?

…

That’s right, Chu Sheng had intentionally gone to tease Gu Yuexi.

’She’s my Master, after all,’ he thought. ’Can’t have her getting depressed on me.’

In truth, he had to admit that this Reborn Empress really was something special.

Especially this time, after she entered the Middle-Grade Realm, her combat power had taken a qualitative leap! If he hadn’t used the Celestial Thunder Clone to catch her by surprise, defeating her would have been genuinely difficult…

And with that, the final results of the academy grand competition were set in stone.

After giving the Beast Taming Academy team some time to celebrate, the chief judge spoke again.

“Alright.”

“The final results have been confirmed. Please exit the Secret Realm in an orderly fashion. The award ceremony will be held on the main platform afterward.”

With that, he and the other teachers began to lead the people away.

However, just then, a slightly stiff voice suddenly interrupted him.

“Wait!”

Everyone turned toward the voice and saw a foreign exchange student, who had been invited to participate as an external reinforcement, quickly walking out from a corner of the waiting area, a look of urgency on his face.

“Sir, I have something important to report! It’s about… about an abnormal Energy fluctuation inside the Secret Realm!” he said, rushing up to the chief judge, his tone urgent.

The chief judge frowned.

“Abnormal Energy fluctuation? Explain in detail…”

His words stopped short.

Because a pair of hands had, as fast as lightning, plunged into his chest!
