Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 970: 970 Education

The leader nodded and signed. The effects will be visible within a year. If it truly succeeds, it will be a major achievement.

Now both of them felt at ease. All the procedures were complete.

It was almost time to get off work. ”Xiao Wei, let’s go to my brother’s house for dinner later.”

Wei Kaiyun understood Li Yungui’s meaning, so he nodded too. The car wasn’t here, and both of them planned to walk back.

Old Yang was waiting for them not far away. Taking a car would be too conspicuous.

Upon hearing their conversation, ”You two go ahead, I’ll pick you up at eight.”

Li Yunqiao also heard the news and knew that the matter had been approved.

He was truly happy, as it was his hometown, his roots. Of course, he hoped it would get better and better.

So after work, he rode his bike directly home and encountered the two walking on the road.

He got off and walked with them, and the three talked about today’s happenings.

”Things are good now.”

Both nodded, things were indeed good now.

Upon reaching home, dinner was already prepared, and with two extra people, Lu Fengzhen and Wang Wugu went into the kitchen again.

”Uncle, Master Wei,” Hong Lin greeted with a smile.

”Congratulations to Hong Lin,” they said with a smile in return.

The three quickly finished their dinner and went to Li Yunqiao’s study.

At eight, hearing noises from outside, the two came out.

Wei Kaiyun got home to find his wife Zhang Ha waiting with tears.

”You go ahead and sleep, I came home late because I was waiting for the results today.”

”I wasn’t at ease without you home.”

Wei Kaiyun knew his wife was scared, after the two incidents he had, she was perpetually on edge.

Wei Kaiyun washed up simply and embraced his wife on the bed, ”Xinyu, don’t worry, I won’t be in trouble again in the future.”

”Okay, let’s sleep quickly, I’m really tired.”

Wei Kaiyun, however, couldn’t fall asleep. His heart was a mix of feelings, a bit regretting why he bothered with all the matters; wouldn’t it be better to just peacefully farm? No need to make his wife worry.

Early the next morning, Li Yungui had just awoken when he heard a loud knocking on the door.

Qu Xiaoli was already up, preparing breakfast, which she had gotten used to doing early for the kids.

Upon hearing the knocking, she was quite annoyed. Who could it be, knocking so loudly? It’s only done like this for funerals.

”Who is it, stop knocking, I’m coming.”

She opened the door to see a young man she didn’t recognize, then remembered he was one of the new educated youth.

”What’s going on? Didn’t your family teach you not to knock like this?”

Shen Youjun felt a bit embarrassed being scolded but remembered the purpose of his visit. ”Auntie, Hou Wenhui is running a fever, that’s why I’m in a hurry, sorry.”

”Wait a moment.

Chaoyang. Go find Liu Xuefa, and take him to check.”

Chaoyang had already washed up. He nodded and went out, ”You go back and wait, I’ll find someone to look, if not we’ll go to the hospital.”

Shen Youjun nodded and ran off, having been quite frightened. Hou Wenhui had a particularly high fever.

Chaoyang found Liu Xuefa, ”Doctor Liu, the new educated youth has a fever, could you help take a look?”

”Alright, I’ll go with you.” All eight were already awake due to their small sleeping hours.

The two arrived at the educated youth point, where Liu Xuefa checked Hou Wenhui’s pulse, ”Find someone to fetch the medicine with me, then go back and brew it.”

This time, Xu Chunshan accompanied him, and Liu Xuefa gave some instructions along the way.

Chaoyang went with them as well. He still had to study and couldn’t spend time here.

After Chaoyang left, Shen Youjun started a fire. Being up so early, one needed to eat.

Such bad luck, being assigned with four such spoiled young ladies. They simply didn’t want to do anything, and even cooking was left to the two men?

Li Yungui saw Chaoyang returning, learned someone had a fever, and thought he’d better check it himself later.

He had great faith in Liu Xuefa’s medical skills, thinking it’s just a minor fever—it will surely be cured with medicine.

So he put it aside, after breakfast, visited the pesticide factory which had begun operations. Seeing hundreds of pesticide boxes in the warehouse made his heart leap with joy.

After leaving the factory, he went to the educated youth point.

Seeing that they hadn’t brewed the medicine yet, ”What’s going on here?”

”Village Chief Li, we don’t have a clay pot.”

Li Yungui nearly exploded from hearing that; they had rushed so urgently here, but with the medicine, there’s no urgency?

”Can’t you use a big pot? This is a serious illness. You educated folks don’t understand the seriousness of a fever?”

How could each one of them be so worrisome?

”Village Chief Li, we’re discussing what to do.”

”Discussing for this long?”

Xu Chunshan hurriedly used a metal pot to brew the medicine, although the other three ladies disliked it, fearing that the smell would linger even when cooking.

Li Yungui felt dealing with them was tiring. ”At ten, the five of you not sick come to the brigade office to find me.”

Letting them do as they please wasn’t an option; if anything happened it was trouble, and since they’re here, they can’t cause problems.

Li Yungui sighed once more, he was just used to worrying. The Lu siblings were worry-free, the eight assigned people kept to themselves and didn’t cause trouble, even contributing to the village.

Suddenly burdened with a group of young people was hard to adapt to.

Returning home, he drank a bowl of hot water to calm his mind.

They were dealing with a feverish patient, and they didn’t hurry to brew the medicine, showing outright indifference. What kind of family raised such children?

Qu Xiaoli didn’t bother with him anymore. She’d already told him not to anger over unrelated things, he wouldn’t listen anyway.

Li Yungui was still upset, so he went straight to the school to find Jiang Xinyu.

He told her about the earlier situation, ”Teacher Jiang, what should we do about it? Can you give me some advice?”

”Village Chief Li, I have no solution. But you should set some rules for them, make sure they know what to focus on.

They’re young, so they don’t think things through. You need to establish regulations. That way, you’re less stressed.”

”Yes, I’ve asked them to see me at the brigade office later, definitely best to speak the harsh truth up front, saves trouble.”

Xu Chunshan served the medicine, asking the three young ladies to quickly feed Hou Wenhui it. Now they were scared, as trouble would arise if anything happened.

The three girls forced Hou Wenhui to take the medicine. The remaining time, the three sat on the bed worriedly. How should they live in the future?
