Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 957: Chapter 957: Worries

”Chaoyang, the pesticide factory will start production tomorrow, but it will only be on a small scale. Go back and tell your dad that every household without someone working here should send one person.”

”Okay, I got it.”

”You don’t need to come, just focus on your studies.”

”Understood.”

”It’s best to find two or three trustworthy people to come over. I intend to give them some of the formulas.”

”Master, isn’t that risky?”

”It’s fine, I’ll teach three people separately, have each of them lead a team, and the final product is only complete when all three parts are mixed together.”

”Is that so?”

”Chaoyang, you need to know how to adapt.”

”Alright, I’ll think about it when I get back.”

After seeing Chaoyang off, Wei Kaiyun entered the room and saw his wife playing with Shi Xian. The boy sat up very steadily, holding a fabric toy and giggling at his mom.

The little girl was sitting on her own, also holding a toy and playing with it intently.

”Your son is so inattentive; with his personality, it’s impossible to make him sit down and focus on one thing,” Jiang Xinyu said worriedly. The old saying that a person’s character is evident at three years old is true, and expecting Shi Xian to focus is really too much for him.

”It’s okay, he’ll grow out of it.”

”You make it sound so irresponsible.”

”Wife, what can we do? It’s his nature; we’ll have to guide him when he grows older and understands better.”

Jiang Xinyu understood this but still felt uneasy about it.

”Wife, don’t overthink it. Didn’t the leader say that if one door doesn’t open, another will? Maybe Shi Xian will excel in other areas.”

”I guess that’s the only way to think about it,” Jiang Xinyu sighed.

Wei Kaiyun got onto the kang bed, and Shi Xian grinned and tossed his toy to his dad, wanting to play.

Qu Xiaoli hurried home, unsure what her husband needed her for.

Li Yungui was making a fire at home. ”Where’s Xue’er? Not home?”

”She didn’t come back. Hong Lin’s wife is having a baby today, so Xue’er stayed over.”

”Timely return. What do you need me for?”

”Do you know anyone suitable? We need to find a nanny for my big brother’s family.”

”Another one?”

”Big brother had Xiao Wei bring the message that my sister-in-law is pregnant, so there’s no one left at home either.”

”Pregnant?”

”That’s right. The uncle will be younger than the nephew.”

”It’s not unheard of. What’s so strange about it?”

”Do you know of anyone suitable?”

”It’s hard to say. Big brother should ask my sister-in-law. Since they’re looking around the hometown, maybe she knows someone appropriate?”

”Don’t think too much. Since you’re asked, just help find someone suitable.”

”Alright. Da Guo’s wife mentioned there’s a widow in their village, living alone now. She’s fifty this year and had three children, but none survived.

The concern is that big brother and sister-in-law might take issue with it. But she lives next door to my sister’s family, is clean, quick, and straightforward.”

”Is she the best option? No one else?”

”Of course, there are others, but we need someone without family ties and who has experience with children.”

”But she lost her husband and children.”

”Finding a young girl isn’t suitable either. We need a single woman. Married ones can’t leave their family obligations.”

”Let’s go see this person you mentioned, and bring her over for big brother to evaluate. If he doesn’t approve, there’s not much else we can do.”

”Why don’t you visit Jin Family Village? Ask your sister-in-law’s family if they know someone suitable.”

Li Yungui thought for a moment. ”Okay, I’ll go tomorrow. If I find someone suitable, we’ll go to the city the day after tomorrow.”

”Alright, I should show my face as the aunt, with no mother-in-law around.”

The couple made their plans and Chaoyang returned home too.

”Dad, my master said production starts tomorrow, working in one workshop. Those not working yet should send one person per family, and decide about more staff after the workshop is built.

Also, he asked you to find three trusted people to teach the formulas.”

”Chaoyang, you aren’t going?”

”My master wants me to focus on my studies.”

”Alright, I got it. I’ll go discuss with your fourth uncle and big uncle.”

The three discussed for quite a while, deciding that Jianhong’s family will send people, with Li Cun, Da Qiangzi, and Jianhong learning the formulas. They’re honest and reliable people, so it’s reassuring to teach them.

Initially, Li Cunshan intended for them three to learn the formulas, but there’s too much work in the village and not enough time.

Li Cunshan’s three sons are assembling corn shakers. They’re the few trustworthy ones.

Since the decision was made, the three went house to house informing everyone, to gather at the pesticide factory at 8 am tomorrow.

More than twenty people received the notice and were very pleased. Others had already voiced discontent about not being included in the corn shakers’ work, but were told that production would start right after the Lantern Festival, so everyone was waiting eagerly.

Li Yungui instructed Da Qiangzi, Li Cun, and Jianhong to head to the brigade office, for Li Cunshan to have a word with them.

”From now on, you’ll be small leaders. Remember, this will be a great way for our village to earn money in the future. Keep the formulas a secret. You three families have lived in Li Family Village for generations; don’t let us down.”

”Captain, rest assured, I’d never spill the beans,” Li Cun promised solemnly.

The other two also gave their assurances.

”Alright, we trust you. Whether our villagers can earn consistently depends on your ability to maintain secrecy.”

”Village chief, I won’t say a word, not even in my sleep talking.”

With that sorted, the plans for tomorrow’s trip to Jin Family Village were uncertain; whether they’ll make it is unknown.

Big brother must be very anxious; everything seems to be happening all at once.

The day after tomorrow, regardless, we must visit the city. Li Yungui’s fourth brother mentioned that Hong Lin’s wife had her baby.

”Second brother, should we go the day after tomorrow?”

”Yeah, monitor the village tomorrow; I need to visit Jin Family Village about finding someone for big brother. Since my sister-in-law is pregnant, big brother wants another helper. But finding someone suitable is tough, so I’m considering asking her family.”

”Alright, you go ahead; I’ll take care of village matters.”

During dinner, Li Yungui informed Hong Jun and Hong Lin that Zheng Lihong gave birth today.

”No wonder my sister hasn’t returned. Second uncle, should we visit?”

”You two? No need right now; school has started, and there’s no bus. Walking would be tough for you both. Your big brother and sister-in-law will understand.”

They nodded. They usually listened to their second uncle, but were curious about whether it was a niece or nephew, and when their sister would return.
