Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 529: 529 message

Jiang Xinyu thought if the protagonist stayed honest, they could mind their own business and not interfere with each other. But since she has made a move, this time Xinyu will make sure she never has the chance to recover. Simply firing her is not enough.

The time goes back to this morning, just past six o’clock, Kong Mengjie had already gotten up to make breakfast for the kids. Hearing the knocking on the door made her a bit puzzled, who could it be this early?

”Second brother? Why are you here so early?”

”If I came later, I wouldn’t have found you.”

”Quickly come in, you haven’t eaten yet, right? I’ll cook right away.”

”I have something to discuss with you.”

Huang Hongwei also came out of the room, ”Second brother is here? Mengjie, you stay with your second brother, I’ll go out to buy breakfast.”

Kong Demin was quite satisfied with Huang Hongwei’s tactfulness.

Kong Mengjie invited Kong Demin into the eastern room; Huang Hongwei had already tidied up the room when he got up.

”Second brother, what do you want to talk to me about?”

”Mengjie, I want you to write a complaint letter to report Jiang Xinyu.”

Kong Mengjie looked at her second brother in surprise. ”This won’t work, did Zhao Zhongshuo say something to you?

Second brother, why don’t you think it over? She sold me the job before she started working, this simply doesn’t work.”

”Haha, you’re thinking too simply, why wouldn’t it work? No matter what, that’s illegal trading, isn’t it?

Don’t worry, as long as you write the complaint letter, I’ll handle the rest. And I assure you, once Jiang Xinyu is arrested, I’ll find a way to get you the vice factory director position.”

Kong Mengjie was tempted. What great allure is this? The vice factory director, her long-time goal.

There was still a disdain for Jiang Xinyu in Kong Mengjie’s heart, only she hadn’t shown it because Jiang was now the vice factory director.

Kong Mengjie believed that given the opportunity, she would definitely perform better than Jiang Xinyu.

Kong Demin knew his younger sister well enough, throwing this bait out was bound to catch her.

”Second brother, if it fails or the news leaks, I’ll lose my job at the textile factory.”

Kong Mengjie was still worried; she knew how resolute Qian Jun was in firing Hu Xuefeng, giving her no chance whatsoever.

If it really fails, she would lose her job at the textile factory.

To be honest, the job at the textile factory is really good. Among all the workplaces, the textile factory has the highest benefits.

Kong Demin looked at Kong Mengjie’s greedy yet cowardly appearance with disdain.

She’s my sister after all, otherwise, humph?

”There’s no such thing as perfect.”

”Second brother, I want to ask, why must you target Jiang Xinyu?”

”I’ve had an eye on her for a long time, but she doesn’t know her place. Also, I’ve received notice from above; targeting her this time is what they want.”

Kong Demin shared these things with Kong Mengjie as a reassurance, giving her the courage to make a decision.

Even though he knew his sister would definitely do it for the vice factory director position, he still gave her some motivation to decide.

Kong Mengjie only relaxed when she heard that orders from above were to target Jiang Xinyu.

”Second brother, wait a moment, I’ll write right away.”

Kong Mengjie took out paper and pen, while Kong Demin guided her on the format and wording of the complaint letter.

When he received the complaint letter, a confident smile appeared on his face.

”Alright, I have other matters, so I’ll leave first.”

Kong Mengjie was particularly excited as if she was about to become the vice factory director.

When Huang Hongwei returned, he didn’t take his wife’s unusual happiness seriously, assuming Kong Demin had brought her some good news.

”Mengjie, why didn’t second brother stay for breakfast?”

”Second brother’s work is busy. I’ll go call the kids to get up.”

Today’s breakfast for the five of them was quite good; the kids hadn’t had deep-fried dough sticks in a while. Huang Hongwei didn’t have the heart to eat and let the kids have it.

Watching from the side, Kong Mengjie’s heart felt a bit sour. Regardless of how he treated his previous wife and kids, he truly cared for her and the kids she gave birth to.

They’d soon be able to lead a good life. The vice factory director’s salary would be thirty more than hers per month, making them afford to eat dough sticks every day.

After breakfast, Huang Hongwei took the kids to school while Kong Mengjie stayed home doing chores, waiting for him to return so they could head to work together.

Kong Demin, holding the complaint letter, excitedly returned to his office.

Sun Hongxia brought him breakfast, ”Demin, I made pan-fried pancakes, scrambled eggs, and millet porridge this morning. Quickly eat.”

”Hmm, just leave it there, I’ll eat in a moment.”

Just then, the phone on the desk rang, ”Hello, this is Kong Demin.”

Before long, his expression changed dramatically, ”Boss, I’ve now found the evidence you wanted; she can be arrested immediately.

Yes, I understand, I won’t act alone. I’ll head over right away.”

He put down the phone with a conflicted face, making Sun Hongxia fearful inside.

She truly didn’t dare look; he had been tormenting himself with expressions like these every night recently.

In a sudden move, Kong Demin stood up, grabbed the keys from his desk, and strode out, not sparing a glance for his wife.

He didn’t realize that once he left, Sun Hongxia relaxed, exhaling a breath.

She left with the lunchbox without locking the door. About half an hour later, Wang Dajiang entered, saw a piece of paper on Kong Demin’s desk, leaned over to look, hurriedly put it in his pocket, and rushed out.

Wang Dajiang arrived at the textile factory entrance just in time to catch Pan Yuanliang inspecting the work.

”Director Pan, I have urgent business with Vice Factory Director Jiang, something extremely urgent.”

”Captain Wang, one moment, I’ll call Vice Factory Director Jiang immediately; she’s in a meeting right now.”

”Director Pan, this is about Vice Factory Director Jiang, we must be quick—any delay and it’ll be too late.”

Seeing Wang Dajiang’s anxious demeanor, Pan Yuanliang instinctively believed him.

”Xiao Wang, run to inform Vice Factory Director Jiang; just tell her exactly what Captain Wang said.”

After waiting about ten minutes, Pan Yuanliang saw Wang Dajiang as anxious as ants on a hot pan. Only when he saw Jiang Xinyu arriving did he show a relieved expression.

Jiang Xinyu also noticed the anxious Wang Dajiang, ”Captain Wang, what’s going on?”

”Vice Factory Director Jiang, please come aside.”

Jiang Xinyu raised an eyebrow, then walked to Wang Dajiang’s side and saw him hand over a piece of paper.

She read it through, ”Thank you, Captain Wang. I owe you one.”

Understanding, Wang Dajiang collected the letter, turned around, and left without a word.

He had just dismissed the two tracking Jiang Xinyu; they were probably returning soon. It’s best not to let Kong Demin know this yet. He also understood that without orders from above, Kong Demin wouldn’t be ready to take action against Jiang Xinyu.
