Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space

Chapter 525: 525 Method

”Mr. Qian, I’ve received word that Hu Xuefeng from our factory is going to testify to the Revolutionary Committee, claiming that I took her two rosewood pieces before arranging her job.”

”Hu Xuefeng?”

”Yes.”

”Did you ask me about it?”

”Yes, I arranged a temporary job for her?”

Qian Jun remembered. ”I got it. Secretary Fang, call the supervisor of Workshop Five and have him come over.”

Jiang Xinyu looked at Qian Jun, puzzled about his intentions.

Qian Jun understood Jiang Xinyu’s confusion. ”Directly dismiss her. It’s already come to this; can it get any worse?”

Jiang Xinyu smiled. Indeed, can it get any worse?

Shortly, Liu Laicun, the supervisor of Workshop Five, arrived.

”Mr. Qian, you wanted to see me? Vice Factory Director Jiang is here too?”

Jiang Xinyu nodded with a smile.

”Mr. Liu, go back and dismiss Hu Xuefeng. Just say I said so.”

Liu Laicun was momentarily stunned. ”What happened with Hu Xuefeng?” This female worker did a good job, although she appeared rather secretive, there hadn’t been any errors in her work.

”Ha, she testified saying Vice Factory Director Jiang took her things before arranging her job. This job was arranged by me; didn’t I mention at the meeting today? If anyone is found playing tricks in private, let them get lost, regardless of who it is.”

Liu Laicun immediately understood. ”Yes, I’ll send her away right now.”

”Mr. Liu, only dismiss her, and give her salary. Write a voucher, and have her come over for my signature, so she can collect her money at the finance department.

And I did indeed buy her two pieces of rosewood, exchanged with a hundred pounds of rice, noodles, food tickets, and money.” Jiang Xinyu said with a smile.

”Understood.”

Both Qian Jun and Jiang Xinyu knew this was a swift, precise act to set an example.

Meanwhile, Liu Laicun returned to the workshop and directly called for Hu Xuefeng and her team leader.

”Hu Xuefeng, you’re fired.”

”Why?” Now she had nothing, not even a last chance for survival?

”Aren’t you clear on why? I specifically mentioned during today’s meeting, if someone takes advantage of this situation to play tricks, they should get lost.

You have quite the nerve, don’t you? You don’t take anything I say seriously. Since you’re so capable, just get lost.”

”This is Jiang Xinyu using public office for private revenge.”

”Public office for private revenge? Back in those days, you consumed someone’s rice, consumed someone’s noodles, spent the money they gave, and now you’re claiming the two pieces of rosewood were gifts to Vice Factory Director Jiang? Doesn’t your conscience hurt?

If it weren’t for that food back then, how would you have managed? No need to say more, right?”

”Jiang Xinyu is making baseless accusations.”

Liu Laicun sneered, ”Whether it’s baseless or not, you know it yourself. Pack your things quickly; people like you with a heartless nature under my charge indeed make me worried.

Mr. Liu, assign her workload to someone else, I’ll write her voucher. Vice Factory Director Jiang said, let Hu Xuefeng take the voucher to her for a signature, so she can claim her salary.”

After saying this, Liu Laicun sneered and left, returning to his office. To be honest, he felt this was a bit too harsh for Hu Xuefeng, but these were orders from above, and Qian Jun’s attitude was very firm. There’s no need to confront the leadership over a worker, right?

”Hu Xuefeng, go pack your things; I’ll approach Mr. Liu to write the voucher for you.”

”I’m not convinced.” Hu Xuefeng’s face twisted with a menacing expression, making others fearful.

”Not convinced? What is there to be unconvinced about? Actions have consequences; didn’t you consider this outcome when you did it?

Or did you think others would just stand by while you mess around and not take action?

After all, you’re just an ordinary worker; they’re factory leaders. Can you actually take them on?

Moreover, your job was found through their help. You know how hard it is to find work at our textile factory. You’re really ungrateful.”

Hu Xuefeng watched Mr. Liu leave and only then crouched down. She was genuinely out of options now, truly afraid. Zhao Zhongshuo assured her nothing would happen, so why did this happen? Aren’t they afraid?

Just as Liu Laicun returned to his office, the phone rang. Every workshop supervisor’s office had an internal phone.

”Mr. Liu, give Hu Xuefeng one hour, or else have security throw her out.”

”Yes, Mr. Qian, I’ll convey that right away.”

Liu Laicun sighed; they truly didn’t leave any room at all.

Unavoidable, he got up and went out again, seeing Hu Xuefeng crouched there. ”Mr. Qian called; you have one hour to leave the textile factory or the security department will throw you out.”

Hu Xuefeng suddenly stood up. ”Why are you doing this to me?”

”You know why. Don’t say anything; go pack your dormitory. If you damage anything, expect to be taken to the police station.”

Liu Laicun took the attendance sheet from the team leader, looked at it, and then returned to his office to write an eighteen-day voucher, meaning eighteen days’ pay.

He came out with the voucher, ”Mr. Liu, have a female worker keep an eye on Hu Xuefeng as she packs her luggage.”

”You’ll regret what you’re doing today in the future.”

Liu Laicun smiled indifferently. He was merely following orders. As for the future, he genuinely didn’t underestimate Hu Xuefeng. For a person to succeed, they must have good character. No one would want to associate with such an ungrateful person.

Half an hour later, Hu Xuefeng packed her luggage and held the voucher, but dared not approach Jiang Xinyu. She was actually very afraid, but this was also money. The money she saved before, and what Lv Beiguang gave her, had been conned by others. Without money, how to survive? Fortunately, her rural house still existed.

Gritting her teeth, she went to Jiang Xinyu’s office, but found no one there, feeling discouraged. Considering the eighteen days’ pay could be twenty-five yuan.

Finally, she went to the factory director’s office.

Upon entering, she felt all eyes on her, feeling very uneasy. If it were her former self, she’d be proud, but now she felt completely defeated.

She approached Jiang Xinyu with the voucher in hand.

She expected difficulties, but there were none; she saw Jiang Xinyu smile and take the voucher, sign it, and hand her the termination certificate.

”Alright, you can go collect your salary at the finance department.”

”Aren’t you afraid?” Hu Xuefeng knew she shouldn’t ask, but seeing Jiang Xinyu, who showed no sign of wrongdoing, she couldn’t hold back?

”Afraid? Why should I be afraid? You think your lies can bring me down? You’re overestimating yourself. Also, remember, lies will always be lies.”
