Love Strategy: CEO He is Really Scheming！

Chapter 990: Chapter 989: Winds and Youth—First Encounter [2]

In Nicole’s heart, she even felt that her brother was closer than her mother because he had taken care of her for many years, always cherishing her lovingly.

At 17, Nicole thought her life would be spent peacefully, relying on her brother for a lifetime, but she didn’t expect everything to be ruined at seventeen.

That year, during a health check at work, Niki was diagnosed with liver cancer. She called her children, Nicole and Wade, to her side and, for the first time, revealed the truth about their origins.

She spoke of a deep, unforgettable love from her youth.

Nicole and Wade were both too shocked to speak, never imagining that their father was the famous political figure in City C, Enzo Seys!

Shortly after revealing their origins, Niki privately contacted the Seys Family, and they quickly came to the door, wanting Wade and Nicole to return to their roots and make up for the years of neglect.

It was on that same day that Niki couldn’t hold on any longer and died in front of Wade and Nicole.

As the elder brother, Wade coldly told the Seys Family representatives that they would stay to observe Niki’s seven-day mourning period before returning to City C.

The Seys Family had no suspicions and agreed, helping to find a cemetery for Niki’s burial and giving Wade and Nicole some money. They then stayed in a local hotel, waiting to take the siblings back after seven days.

”Wade, do we really have to go to the unfamiliar Seys Family? Will they treat us well?” Young Nicole was very worried.

Wade pondered for a moment, looked at Nicole, and pressed his thin lips together, ”Nicole, I’ll take you to study abroad. Are you afraid? We’re not going to the Seys Family. We’ve been doing well on our own all these years. Whether we acknowledge this father doesn’t really matter to us.”

”Studying abroad, it’s so far away.” Nicole was a bit hesitant and scared.

”Don’t be afraid, we’ll go abroad, and the Seys Family won’t be able to find us. I have a classmate whose mother works at the immigration office. I’ll ask her to help expedite our passports.”

”Okay, Wade, let’s go abroad.”

——

Just like that, Wade took the savings account Niki left him, together with the money given by the Seys Family for their living expenses, acquired expedited passports through connections, and quietly took Nicole abroad to Italy.

Once they were abroad, they realized that the money from Niki and the Seys Family was not enough, as the plane tickets alone had consumed more than half.

Wade resolutely decided to drop out and work to support his sister Nicole’s education.

Wade used the last of the money to enroll Nicole in a local high school and rented a simple basement, starting a life of relentless work to take on the responsibility of supporting his sister.

Nicole also worked hard, achieving excellent grades at school. No matter how tired Wade was, he felt comforted. Although life was hard for the siblings in a foreign land, they were very happy.

Niki’s death hadn’t dealt the siblings a blow; instead, it deepened their bond.

Hearing that bar work paid well, Wade later switched to working in a bar, so he was practically not home at night.

That evening, after finishing her classes, Nicole returned home feeling inexplicably afraid and called Wade at work.

Wade’s voice was still as gentle as ever, full of brotherly affection, and they chatted for about ten minutes.

”Nicole, I’m in the alley by the bar taking your call. I need to get back to work; otherwise, the manager will definitely dock my pay.”

”Okay, Wade.”

”Sleep well. I’ll be off work in about an hour and will come home. Tomorrow is my day off, and it’s also your birthday, so we’ll have a good time together.”

”Alright, Wade, I’m hanging up now.”

”Mm, remember to lock the doors and windows before you sleep. I have the key, so no need to open the door for me.”
