Chapter 973: Chapter 972: Second Brother Always Believed in You [3]

Daisy Grant bit her lip, her eyebrows tightened, and her voice was cool: ”I haven’t disclosed anything about C.Y. If C.Y. wants to report it to the police, I have nothing to say; I accept any investigation.”

Lee Zhi was infuriated by Daisy Grant’s cold and arrogant attitude. He looked at Dawn Sutherland in the main seat and said, ”President Sutherland, I suggest reporting this to the police! This matter has caused us at C.Y. a tremendous loss, costing us the cooperation with Waltham! Assistant Grant cannot be let off! We must hold her accountable!”

All eyes turned to the person in the main seat, waiting for the speechless boss of C.Y., the highest level, to speak.

Dawn Sutherland toyed with the pen in his hand, leaned back in his chair, his gaze profound. He pressed his thin lips together, looking indifferent, as if he hadn’t heard a word of the argument among his employees earlier. He looked at Daisy Grant, and a calm tone escaped his lips: ”Do you have anything to say?”

Did Second Brother not trust her?

Daisy Grant’s heart felt bitter; she slowly shook her head, her voice somewhat hoarse and weary: ”President Sutherland, I have nothing to say. I know that whatever I say, no one will believe because, across the entire company, I am the most suspicious one, having the surname Grant and being inseparably linked with the Grant Clan, considered an outsider in everyone’s heart at C.Y.”

”Is that so?” Dawn Sutherland looked at Daisy Grant, his tone light, his gaze deepening as he looked at her, ”Are you so sure that no one believes you?”

Daisy Grant gave a bitter smile, ”It doesn’t matter; I accept the investigation. I won’t admit to something I haven’t done. I only admit to having opened your computer, but I won’t admit to leaking C.Y. secrets. President Sutherland, I accept the police investigation.”

As Daisy Grant finished speaking, Dawn Sutherland placed the pen in his hand on the meeting table with a crisp snap.

Everyone held their breath, waiting for Dawn Sutherland to handle the matter. This incident had caused C.Y. to lose a great chance for fame, and Dawn Sutherland’s action of dropping the pen seemed like a prelude to anger.

Almost everyone speculated that this Assistant Grant was going to face a lawsuit. As the general manager of C.Y., President Sutherland couldn’t possibly let Assistant Grant off lightly, even if Assistant Grant really had some kind of relationship with President Sutherland. But in today’s society, who would forgo accountability for a vague relationship and allow such a loss to the company?

Daisy Grant’s body trembled slightly at the sound, her eyebrows lowered, her head bowed slightly.

It turned out Second Brother didn’t believe her either, thinking she was the one who leaked C.Y.’s secrets.

Dawn Sutherland set the pen down and looked at the person with her head lowered; her lonely and frail figure stood there, facing the scrutinizing gazes of everyone in the meeting room. Dawn Sutherland’s fingers slightly tightened, the heartache in his heart filling his gaze.

Dawn Sutherland looked at Daisy Grant, his voice faint: ”Come here.”

Daisy Grant hummed in response and slowly walked towards Dawn Sutherland.

As she approached, she deliberately kept a distance, her head lowered, her voice somewhat heavy: ”President Sutherland.”

Dawn Sutherland looked at the person standing beside him, reached out, took Daisy Grant’s left hand, glanced at the diamond ring on it, then raised his eyes to look directly at her, ”Something you haven’t done, what are you afraid of. Lift your head, straighten your body, and frankly tell these people you haven’t done it!”

Daisy Grant immediately raised her eyes to look at Dawn Sutherland, her face full of surprise: ”Second Brother... no, President Sutherland, is this...?”

Does this mean he trusts her???

Dawn Sutherland, ignoring everything around him, looked at Daisy Grant, his eyes filled with gentle light, his voice as gentle as water: ”With Second Brother here, what are you afraid of. In the future, for things you haven’t done, stand tall, and tell them loud and clear, with full confidence, ’Don’t pin this on me; I haven’t done it, and I won’t admit it!’”
