Chapter 972: Chapter 971: Second Brother Always Believes in You (2)

Sam Brown acknowledged with a deep voice, handing another document to Daisy Grant, ”This is the bid proposal from Grant Clan for the project.”

Daisy Grant glanced at it, and when she saw the pricing on it, she was completely stunned, ”How could this be... How could C.Y’s bid proposal be exactly the same as Grant Clan’s?!”

Daisy looked around the conference room’s attendees, finally understanding why they looked suspicious!

”It wasn’t me!” Daisy exclaimed softly, ”I haven’t seen this bid proposal! I only saw C.Y’s bid proposal today, and before this I had no idea that C.Y was also participating in Waltham Corporation’s bid!”

Jeremy Ward, the head of C.Y’s risk assessment team, looked at Daisy Grant with a sneer, his voice cold, ”Miss Grant, don’t say this is a coincidence! Grant Clan and our C.Y’s bid are identical. It’s clear that someone leaked our bid, deliberately sabotaging this collaboration. Now, all our C.Y’s proposals and project plans have been returned by Waltham. Miss Grant, you better explain how you plan to compensate us for this loss! During your time as our assistant at C.Y, you have already been involved in leaking business secrets! If you don’t provide an explanation, our company will directly report to the police!”

”I didn’t!” Daisy bit her lip, her gaze fixed on Jeremy Ward, ”Director Ward, during my time as an assistant at C.Y, I deliberately avoided any confidential matters because of my sensitive identity. I understand that competition is inevitable in the business sector, and that’s why I didn’t partake in top-level confidential matters at C.Y. Moreover, during my time at C.Y, I didn’t inquire much about Grant Clan. I can honestly say I haven’t seen C.Y’s bid proposal!”

The HR Director, Li Zhi, looked at Daisy Grant, his voice indifferent, ”This is a confidential matter, and only a few assistants have access to President Sutherland’s office. So we asked all the assistants earlier. Assistant Grant, a few days ago, you were sneaking around alone in President Sutherland’s office; what were you doing?!”

With Li Zhi’s words, everyone in the office looked at Daisy Grant, their gazes filled with accusation and anger.

Even Sam Brown was looking at Daisy Grant, waiting for her explanation.

”Assistant Grant, we just reviewed the surveillance and found that the colleague who reported you wasn’t slandering. A few days ago, you indeed sneaked into President Sutherland’s office when no one was around and turned on his computer!”

Daisy Grant’s face instantly turned pale.

A few days ago, she did turn on her second brother’s computer, but it wasn’t to look at the bid proposal; it was to see if there were any clues about the person in her brother’s heart.

And that day, she saw an encrypted album on his computer, but she didn’t know the password, so she couldn’t access it.

”I did turn on President Sutherland’s computer,” Daisy bit her lip, her voice low, ”but I wasn’t snooping on the bid proposal.”

”Then what were you doing!” Li Zhi pressed aggressively, scolding Daisy Grant with a sharp voice, ”A mere assistant turning on President Sutherland’s computer in his absence, Assistant Grant, this alone is a severe breach of employee conduct! If we provide the surveillance footage to the police, you will immediately be accused of leaking business secrets!”

”I—” Daisy’s fingertips were icy cold.

How should she answer?

She couldn’t possibly say that she was looking at her brother’s computer just to find out who he loves...
