Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Arlo Seys, something happened to me...

——

Under Arlo Seys’s cool and clear gaze warning all the way, Ariel Morris’s tutoring sessions, although occasionally distracted, were generally satisfactory to Arlo Seys, her mentor.

Ariel Morris was also rewarded with a delightful and delicious dessert.

In the days following, the daily English tutoring at the juice bar after school became an unbreakable appointment between Arlo Seys and Ariel Morris. Scenic Hill’s crowd further confirmed the fact that the two were already in a relationship.

——

After school in the afternoon, Arlo Seys went to the juice bar as usual to keep the appointment and sat in the spot where they often sat to complete his homework.

Time slowly passed, and when he finished his homework and looked up at the sky outside the window, it was already somewhat dim, but the seat across from him remained empty.

He looked at the watch on his wrist; it was already very late. At this time, Scenic Hill’s students, even those kept behind, would have already gone home.

The unease inside him spread, and Arlo Seys quickly stood up, packed his homework into his shoulder bag, and swiftly left the juice bar.

He expanded his search street by street around the school, but he couldn’t find any trace of Ariel Morris. He took out his phone and dialed the number Ariel Morris had given him.

The phone rang again and again, but no one answered. Just as Arlo Seys was frustrated and about to hang up, he suddenly heard the familiar voice on the other end, but the voice was panicked and fearful as it called him, ”Arlo Seys....”

As soon as the words fell, Arlo Seys spoke in a low voice with some severity over the phone, ”Ariel Morris! Where have you been?”

There was a panic in his voice that he usually didn’t have.

”Arlo Seys... something happened to me...”

The voice on the other end sounded again, and Arlo Seys could hear the trembling and helplessness in her weak voice even through the phone.

What shocked Arlo Seys even more was that she said she had killed someone—

His fingers holding the phone tightened slightly as he tried to maintain his calm, his lips lightly parted: ”You said—you killed someone?”

Killing someone—if convicted of this crime...

The key question is, how could Ariel Morris have killed...?

Thinking of this, Arlo Seys blurted out directly, his voice urgent: ”Where are you? Tell me your location!”

——

When Arlo Seys reached the location Ariel Morris had mentioned, he saw Ariel Morris huddled in a street corner, shivering, with noticeable red bloodstains on her clothes. His eyes narrowed, and he quickly went over.

”What exactly happened?”

Upon hearing the voice, Ariel Morris raised her pale face to look at the person coming.

When she saw it was Arlo Seys, she immediately stood up and hugged him tightly, her lips trembling slightly, and then she burst into tears.

As she cried, Ariel Morris spoke intermittently, ”Arlo Seys.... I really didn’t—do it on purpose. I didn’t expect that it would... I didn’t expect he would die!”

Arlo Seys could feel her hands holding him, her fingertips trembling. His heart tightened, his thin lips slightly opened: ”Tell me what happened.”

Ariel Morris nodded and let go of him.

Due to panic and fear, her words, fraught with tension and dread, became somewhat incoherent: ”I ran into two thugs on the road, they asked me for money, and I really didn’t have much money on me. They wanted to search me but I refused, then there was a dispute...”

”They cornered me, and in panic, I picked up a stone and struck one of them on the head...”

”So much blood.... Arlo Seys, he bled so much.... He fell to the ground and didn’t respond, Arlo Seys....”

After saying this, Ariel Morris looked devastated, hugging her disheveled hair, and began to cry bitterly.
