System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Lu Cheng politely said, ”Alright, Teacher Chen, I actually have always been quite grounded.”

”Yes, except for your talent, which isn’t exactly grounded, the rest is pretty good.”

”Oh my gosh, last year you were still like a ghost.”

”This year, you!~”

”That’s just fate...” Chen Song was just feeling emotional and didn’t doubt it.

Lu Cheng’s progress was something he watched grow step by step, every step with its challenges, leading to the current results.

Not an instant leap to success, leaving no obvious signs in reality.

It’s not like that.

A lot of Lu Cheng’s progress was witnessed or involved by Chen Song...

After sitting back in the lounge, Lu Cheng started chatting with Mu Nanshu.

Lu Cheng: ”Professor Zhong and Professor Xie also came to Ji City. We did surgery together.”

”Wow... your energy is pretty impressive.” Mu Nanshu smiled happily.

Lu Cheng continued, ”Professor Zhong’s skills are far stronger than I expected, but he seems to be relatively impressed by my abilities, and is even willing to...”

”Professor Zhong is that generous?” Mu Nanshu seemed a little puzzled, not expressing much surprise.

Lu Cheng: ”I just think that Professor Zhong Junyun never really considered me to be anything special!”

”It could be, or it couldn’t be.”

”In the past, I was in a similar role to Dr. Han in their department, and Professor Xie and the others.”

Mu Nanshu: ”???”

”What do you mean?”

Lu Cheng: ”Just ants.”

Mu Nanshu: ”...”

”You mean, are you saying Professor Xie Xiao and the others are just ants?”

Lu Cheng: ”Yes, they’re just surgical tools who can make some improvements on certain surgeries, but that’s about it.”

Lu Cheng wasn’t worried that Mu Nanshu would spread his words or try to incite hate with them.

”You can learn a lot of surgeries, even innovate and improve suturing techniques.”

”However.”

”They’re still advanced infantry, the seasoned members of the ant colony, unable to come up with significant innovations...” The more candid Lu Cheng spoke, the more he was warning himself not to get arrogant.

The world is vast, with the sky high and the earth thick.

The extremes of talents and techniques in this world are far greater than you think.

Do you think Professor Xie Xiao is powerful?

Definitely powerful, a professor at Union Hospital.

Do you think Professor Tan Zhongyuan is powerful?

Definitely powerful, the director of hand surgery at Xiangya Hospital, and a senior professor...

But???

Some words, although not directly said by Zhong Junyun, were expressed differently — they’re all just tools.

The difference between them and very ordinary doctors is merely being advanced tools compared to ordinary tools.

Mu Nanshu replied earnestly, ”That’s not right...”

”Your previous suturing technique was quite effective on the Spleen and Liver Preservation Surgery, right?”

”And then?”

Lu Cheng replied with scientific popularization: ”Did I come up with Spleen Preservation Surgery first? I merely optimized the technique.”

”Liver Preservation Surgery has been done by other predecessors long ago, I merely optimized it based on that!”

”Why is it like this?”

Mu Nanshu: ”That’s already pretty impressive.”

Lu Cheng: ”Individual learning ability reflects one’s aptitude; technique improvement and innovation reflect the ability to integrate resources, but ultimately, it’s all about building on the framework of predecessors.”

”A technique, a basic skill, at this level, can drastically enhance the doctor’s operational baseline.”

”In other words, when such a person researches new treatment surgeries, they can most likely ensure that patients won’t die...”

”Based on this premise, the doctor’s courage can grow, encouraging collective wisdom to climb technological peaks.”

”Without this, it’s actually just blindly fumbling along, unsure when things might go wrong.”

”It might not explode on yourself, but it’s actually harming the ’interests’ of the patients!”

”Of course, one point of contention is that, some patients, even if you don’t try, will erupt.”

”It’s just that the trial-and-error costs borne by patients and doctors will be higher.”

”But this, is all in the past.”

Lu Cheng knew that the person opposite was Mu Nanshu, his Book Bag.

Lu Cheng shouldn’t pretend to be profound with her.

But Lu Cheng still said this, because this is the truth, Lu Cheng was ecstatic, so he wanted to share with someone.

Mu Nanshu said, ”So you’re saying, in the future, you can confidently treat some complex and difficult diseases.”

”You have confidence in your skills, and no matter how badly things go, there likely won’t be extreme consequences?”

Lu Cheng: ”That’s pretty much it. I can stop surgeries at any time and convert them into a level others can handle.”

”The baseline won’t be worse than others, and the upper limit will only be higher than other teams.”

”If I have to describe this state, it’s Ruyi, as I wish, I can do it my way.”

”No matter what, I can at least ensure that other patients receive treatment above the industry’s average level!”

”Of course, currently limited to wound care.”

”If it’s hemorrhagic diseases, I still don’t have that kind of confidence.”

”Basic skills are the most profound path in medicine.”

”Book Bag, I’ve now come to realize something, maybe in the future, we don’t need to pursue any special research projects.”

”We just need to research what I’m working on, and that is a form of research...”

”Really.”

Mu Nanshu: ”Look at how you’re boasting yourself...”

Lu Cheng: ”I rarely feel so confident, but this time, I wanted to speak frankly to you.”

”I need a research team to assist me!~”

”You’re the first person who came to mind, not because I want you to sacrifice yourself!”

”But because we can really choose a path, stick to it to the end, we can move forward together!~”

”Confidently, without anyone dragging each other down.”

As the saying goes, if you meet the right person, they’ll be waiting ahead of you, not forcing you to choose.

Mu Nanshu is currently not able to pursue clinical work, so she follows a dedicated research path.

So where has Lu Cheng reached now?

Stop researching anything else, research me, researching me is conducting research...

”Hehe, good!~” Mu Nanshu sent a sly smile emoji.

”Oh no, Sister Ni Xixin caught me slacking off, I won’t chat with you anymore, or they’ll laugh at me.”

”I’m starting to work, we need to publish a paper soon, and develop two more animal models...”

After about ten minutes, Mu Nanshu said, ”Sister Ni Xixin just told me to advise you not to worry about the animal models for now.”

”She and Brother Zhang Xibei want to prove their capabilities, they don’t want to be mere bystanders.”

”If after two more months they haven’t made progress, they’ll approach you for help.”

”Can’t delay the research group’s progress too much.”

This is the result of the research group when individual abilities are relatively unbalanced.

For Lu Cheng, there’s no rush.

But Ni Xixin and Zhang Xibei feel like they’re just freeloading, doing nothing, just being fed while lying down.

If one is shameless, you can’t drive them away; they’ll only consider you harsh.

But if one has ample self-awareness, they’ll feel embarrassed...

Ni Xixin and Zhang Xibei can actually rely on their skills for a living, but they won’t comfortably accept ”handouts.”

”Alright, I’m not in a hurry, take your time.”

”Recently, I’ll focus more on clinical work.” Lu Cheng chuckled.

”Sure!~”

”I’ll let them know that your current focus is on the clinical side, and our research group is opting for a slow mode.”

”Experts in animal modeling are hard to find; Brother Zhang and Sister Ni are experts, can’t let them slip by.”

Mu Nanshu ended the conversation.

Lu Cheng then contently put away his phone, went out the door, entered the operating room, and just stood there watching Liu Nongqiu’s procedure.

Liu Nongqiu, compared to last month when he first arrived at the hospital, has made a little progress.

However, this little progress seems almost negligible to Lu Cheng now.

Of course, Lu Cheng also understands and is happy for Liu Nongqiu’s slight advancement.

Liu Nongqiu is certainly under pressure, hence his operation’s details were slightly neglected due to nervousness, but it doesn’t affect the overall quality of the operation.

After the operation, sending the patient out, Liu Nongqiu tidied up the operating table while saying, ”Teacher Lu, my operation just now had no issues, right?”

Lu Cheng shook his head, ”Be confident in yourself, there won’t be any issues!~”

”Take it slow, no rush, learn more, practice more.”

”Aim to let Dai Linfang guide you on some Spleen Preservation Surgery wound care operations as soon as possible...”

”Alright!~” Liu Nongqiu accepted Lu Cheng’s encouragement.

Nothing much, with Lu Cheng here, the encouragement was so big and round, once he tasted it, he would eventually become like Director Lu now.
