System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Although, without these people, Lu Cheng could have reached his current level through the panel, the timeline would certainly have been pushed back.

It might be that Lu Cheng at thirty-three or thirty-four would be so outstanding, rather than Lu Cheng at thirty-one achieving such excellence.

”Still, there’s no need to dwell on it. Educational resources should inherently be universally beneficial!”

”Dr. Lu, you must believe, there are many who receive the same educational resources as you.”

”Your achievements are due to your personal effort and fortuity. Do not let other factors constrain you!”

”Progress for a doctor is through a teacher’s guidance, and the opportunity patients provide, through continuous trial and error.”

”It has little to do with our relationship.”

Zhong Junyun sighed liberally: ”If our contributions alone could make Dr. Lu successful!”

”Then everyone in our hospital would be Dr. Lu.”

”Dr. Lu doesn’t have a deep connection with our hand surgery department, and I’m largely responsible for that.”

”I apologize, Dr. Lu, you are a thousand-mile horse, and I couldn’t be your Bole.”

”But also very lucky… Dr. Lu!”

”At least, we met early enough.”

Zhong Junyun, an old fox, played the tactic of retreating to advance to the fullest.

Zhong Junyun did not morally bind Lu Cheng, instead granting him the freedom to ”leave.”

But the more Zhong Junyun did so, the tighter Lu Cheng’s bond with Union Hospital became.

Lu Cheng willingly accepted this connection, never thinking of not going to Union Hospital.

Zhong Junyun is just Zhong Junyun, just the hand surgery department, not representing the entire hospital.

Therefore, Lu Cheng opportunely asked: ”Professor Zhong, if I now plan to ask for someone from the hospital to follow me for research, is it compliant?”

Zhong Junyun raised his sharp chin slightly: ”Certainly.”

”Dr. Lu and Xiao Mu are a couple, childhood sweethearts, and also colleagues fortunate to be together.”

”If you wish to collaborate on a project, the hospital will fully support it.”

”It’s not a clinical collaboration, so it won’t harm patients. Both the hospital and the institution will support it.”

”Actually, Dr. Lu, your current level has long surpassed the Union Hospital’s Cyan Cloud Ladder, the so-called talent attraction line.”

”There’s quite a bit of freedom!”

Union Hospital in Han City is not like some prefecture-level cities where the talent recruitment standards are Nobel-level, nor are the rewards just a few hundred thousand and a house…

Zhong Junyun continued: ”On the contrary, the hospital hasn’t invested many resources into Dr. Lu’s growth and progress, and Dr. Lu still can dictate the price!”

”Speak up when fitting, until you’re satisfied.”

Liang Guocheng, hearing Zhong Junyun ”sell out the hospital” like this, was also secretly amazed.

But he didn’t feel anything improper about it.

With the current state of Lu Cheng, hospitals willing to pay a breach of contract fee of several million or even tens of millions are plentiful.

Even Union Hospital in Kyoto is very willing to pay Lu Cheng’s breach fee!

Reaching the Realm of the Inexplicable with basic skills is already stepping into the threshold of enlightenment.

No need to talk about papers and research.

Professional doctors know that with such foundational skills, providing him with some research assistance means papers everywhere.

Because such basic skills allow tentative treatments for many clinically untreatable diseases, every step of progress is a research opportunity.

And those are all genuinely effective research efforts.

Top hospitals are most lacking in this area.

Lu Cheng responded: ”Then thank you, Teacher Zhong, for the guidance.”

Zhong Junyun waved his hand: ”This isn’t guidance. Even if I hadn’t told you, you would have realized it gradually over time.”

”However…” Zhong Junyun suddenly sighed again.

His words made the attention already focused on him intensify a bit more.

”In reality, if I were your teacher, I wouldn’t suggest elevating your basic skills to such a level so early.”

”Although basic skills are important.”

Lu Cheng felt a tightness in his heart: ”Teacher Zhong, why is that?”

”Isn’t this a good thing?”

Lu Cheng didn’t think Zhong Junyun was being pretentious by saying this now.

Teaching hospitals emphasize basic skills immensely; aren’t stronger basic skills better?

Zhong Junyun didn’t keep him guessing, his voice and expression calm: ”It’s not that it’s bad for patients, rather it’s not beneficial for you.”

”Because after some time, when you want to learn or self-study most people’s surgeries, you’ll find that most examples are wrong.”

”This will require you to invest a lot more effort.”

Lu Cheng’s eyelids lifted sharply: ”They’re all wrong?”

Zhong Junyun countered: ”Lu Cheng, what do you think, essentially, are medical textbooks, basic medical theory, and surgical techniques?”

This touches on the root of a discipline.

The essence of mathematics involves no numbers.

The essence of language is not Pinyin or strokes.

Chinese is the written carrier of Hua Country, language is a medium of expression.

”Statistics and epidemiology?” Lu Cheng, of course, had read many articles and was familiar with medical statistics and epidemiology.

In medical books, most theories are actually summaries of clinical manifestations and treatments.

For example, if a certain treatment is effective, it’s because in a thousand cases, nine hundred and ninety-nine treatments were effective. After clinical trials, this treatment mode is written into textbooks.

After many years, if a better scheme emerges, the previous one will be overturned…

Now controlling the use of antibiotics and hormones is essentially a correction of past textbooks.

”Yes and no.”

”Many current medical theories merely describe phenomena rather than fundamentally summarizing them.”

”You’ve certainly heard many say this in clinical settings.”

”That’s how it’s written in your textbook? Then the textbook author was wrong!~” Zhong Junyun stated, not pompously, but with certainty.

Professor Zhong Junyun was someone who participated in textbook compilation.

But Professor Zhong Junyun also knew that compiling textbooks is not a one-person task, even for himself, he is merely a prophet in hand surgery, not omniscient.

So-called textbook compilation is just summarizing one’s understanding and knowledge structure of hand surgery for record.

There is no guarantee of accuracy, only that, in this era, this understanding is more beneficial to patients!

”You haven’t learned a lot of surgical techniques, so you don’t have an overall framework internally.”

”But your basic skills have reached such a level, so when you go to learn now, you’ll find many wrong things.”

”This might form mental knots for you.”

Professor Zhong Junyun’s words made Mu Nanshu worried, and she finally stopped being a mascot:

”Teacher Zhong, do you mean Lu Cheng’s basic skill level is too high, and it’s actually detrimental to learning surgical techniques later?”

Looking at Mu Nanshu, Zhong Junyun’s tone became even smoother: ”You’re a PhD, right?”

”I’ll tell you, papers published in journals are imperial decrees, all papers are decrees, and you must adhere to their descriptions entirely!”

”Can you agree to that?”

Mu Nanshu’s complexion tightened slightly, and she slowly shook her head.

”Academic papers are contentious!”

Zhong Junyun: ”Surgical techniques are also contentious!”

”If Lu Cheng has already mastered most surgeries, perfecting his basic skills now would be self-correction.”

”Without a framework, he needs to learn while correcting!~”

”Skipping a step in between…”

”Maybe more than one step, and this is the slightly negative aspect I want to convey to Lu Cheng.”

”If I were his teacher, I’d advise him to first learn more surgical techniques, build a framework initially.”

”Then, exploring further would make his journey smoother…”

Upon hearing this, Lu Cheng actually felt Professor Zhong Junyun’s words made sense.

If his advancement wasn’t through the panel, but by following the normal learning curve, this indeed would be a perplexing issue.

But Lu Cheng isn’t an ordinary person.

Moreover, with his skills improved, there’s no turning back.

It can only be said, an elderly at home is like a treasure, unfortunately, Lu Cheng’s family doesn’t have such a treasure, which is the downside of lacking mentorship.

Lu Cheng was willing to accept and could accept such consequences…

”Thank you for the insights, Teacher Zhong, but I’m still quite happy.” Lu Cheng replied with a smile.
