Super Gene Hunting Ground

The first problem with exploring ore veins in the Primitive Forest is the threat of Mutant Monsters.

Now, the savages won’t harass David Base anymore, much less disturb Yang Xiao’s exploration efforts, but various large Mutant Monsters that are ubiquitous in the valley forest could appear at any time.

More than two hundred kilometers away from David Mine, at the edge of the Primitive Forest Protection Zone, there is a vast and flat plain area, covering about forty or fifty square kilometers.

There is a small stream flowing through here, with abundant water sources, making life convenient.

After discussing with David and Qin Lu, Yang Xiao decided to start prospecting here first, and if successful, to establish the first mining base here.

”How do we solve the personnel issue?”

David looked at Yang Xiao.

The workers at David Mine couldn’t possibly help Yang Xiao with private tasks. Helping occasionally was feasible, but it would be problematic if it went on for too long.

”Those dozen or so brothers of yours, I’ve allowed you to take them. That’s the most authority I can exercise. After three years, I’ll apply for a Witch Star ID for them all, then they’ll be free.

But their Evolution Levels are very low, the new mine isn’t established yet, there are no defense measures, and you can’t withstand monster attacks in the wilderness.”

Yang Xiao thought for a moment and said:

”I’ll handle this issue. Station Chief Dai and Qin Lu, you two finalize the prospecting team and ensure the funds are in place.”

”The prospecting team has already been hired by my father from Karachi City, and they’ll be able to fly to Uncle Dai’s base in a few days.”

”I can only lend the spaceship to you temporarily, once you discover the ore veins, we’ll immediately order two new spaceships, one spaceship for two hundred million Crystal Coins.”

David said.

He was still very cautious about making large investments before discovering the Crystal Ore Veins.

Yang Xiao let Luo Meng accompany him and Qin Lu, and according to memory, they located Ah Bao’s savage tribe, in line with the prior arrangement Yang Xiao had made with Ah Bao to wait for him here.

Upon seeing Yang Xiao, Ah Bao immediately came forward with a warm hug, like greeting an old friend.

Seeing this scene, Qin Lu and Luo Meng were finally convinced that Yang Xiao had indeed become well-integrated with the savages, clearing the doubts in their hearts.

”Ah Bao, do you remember what I talked to you about before?”

”Of course, Brother Yang. I’ve been waiting for you.”

”Have you discussed it with your brothers?”

”We’ve talked about it.”

”How many people are in your tribe now?”

”There are a total of one hundred twenty people, eighteen of whom are Emperor Level Evolvers.”

”Alright, have you told your tribe about the arrangement we made with the King of the Savages?”

”We’ve discussed it in a meeting, everyone is happy to hear they can live in the King of the Savage’s valley.”

”Good, you have three days to bring all the tribal members to the King of the Savages’ valley, then bring all the tribe members above King Level Evolver back to see me.”

”No problem.”

Yang Xiao and Ah Bao confirmed that there were a total of forty-five people in Ah Bao’s tribe who were King Level Evolvers and Emperor Level Evolvers. These individuals would temporarily serve as security and logistics staff for the mining operation.

After settling the matters, Yang Xiao, Luo Meng, and Qin Lu returned to the base that day.

Along the way, Qin Lu had various questions.

”Brother Yang, how did you persuade the savages to work as security for us? Also, letting them go down into the mines to dig, are they willing?”

”Wildmen need Crystal Stones, don’t they? They don’t have jobs and wander everywhere; I’ll arrange jobs for them, pay them, and turn them from unemployed vagabonds into employed individuals. How nice is that!”

Yang Xiao decided to gradually implement a market economy within the Wildman tribe, breaking the old tribal system of communal living, allowing those capable and industrious people to become wealthy and live better lives.

However, this change would disrupt the ecological balance of the Wildmen; it couldn’t be forced and had to be subtly integrated. He spoke with the Wildman King and chose Ah Bao’s tribe as a pilot for the reform.

The Wildman King and Ah Bao didn’t understand market economies, but they still had some trust in Yang Xiao, especially since even Ah Rui was married to him.

”Qin Bro, I need you to do me a favor.”

”What favor?”

”Go to the market in Karachi City and buy a large number of various household items, pots, pans, ladles, beautiful clothes for women, toys for kids. Oh, and especially various sharp swords and other weapons.”

”Do you mean Magic Weapons with attributes?”

”Yes.”

”Aren’t those only available at the Genetic Store?”

”Besides the Genetic Store, aren’t there second-hand shops in the market that sell all kinds of weapons? They don’t necessarily need to have very high attributes.”

”Yes, most are used by people, with attribute points below ten for weapons, equipment, jewelry, etc., all of which are suitable for simple folks.”

”Good, buy a hundred pieces of weapons, a hundred pieces of various household items, and also clothes, skirts, children’s toys, oh, and various snacks and candies.”

”Yang Bro, what are you planning?”

”Don’t ask now, you’ll know when it’s time.”

...

Three days later, Ah Bao arrived at David’s Base with over forty robust Wildmen seeking Yang Xiao.

The appearance of the Wildmen startled the guards at David’s Base, thinking they were coming to attack the base, almost leading to a confrontation. Fortunately, Ah Bao was not so impulsive this time and explained their intentions.

The guards informed Yang Xiao and David, and the two hurried out to bring Ah Bao and his people into the base.

Seeing Ah Bao and his people, David internally remarked, Master Yang is truly extraordinary, being able to command the Wildmen.

Yang Xiao first settled Ah Bao and his people comfortably.

Soon, Qin Lu also arrived by spaceship.

”Yang Xiao, this spaceship was brought from my father’s base. My father said that Uncle Dai’s spaceship can’t be used for a long time. We should use our base’s spaceship for now, and once we have prospected the ore veins, we will order new spaceships immediately.”

Along with Qin Lu, there was a team of ten professional prospectors, specialized in helping with the prospecting of ore veins in various places.

”Have you bought the things I asked for?”

”A few large boxes, already loaded on the spaceship.”

”Good.”

Yang Xiao, Qin Lu, and Ah Bao, accompanied by the prospecting team and dozens of tribesmen from Ah Bao’s tribe, took the spaceship to a pre-selected flat plain area.

The prospecting team unloaded several large instruments from the spaceship and began setting them up.

Ah Bao and his forty Wildmen cleared the surrounding trees and weeds, preparing to build a temporary camping site.

These Wildmen were very familiar with the forest environment, knowing how to drive away and hunt the various mutant insects in the wild grass, set up simple tents, cut down trees, and erect temporary fences to block small monsters and so on.

Qin Lu, participating in such an outdoor mining expedition for the first time, seemed very excited. This rich second-generation guy had previously lived in big cities, and now, following Yang Xiao into the deep mountains to start a business, he felt a profound sense of fulfillment.
