Super Gene Hunting Ground

The slave trader glared angrily at the girl before saying reluctantly to Yang Xiao:

”Fine, I’ll sell her to you for 30,000 Crystal Coins.”

”I’m not interested in her. What I want is for you to tell me about the situation of selling those two.”

Yang Xiao pointed with his finger at the chimpanzee and the lion, who were gobbling their food voraciously.

The chimpanzee suddenly turned its head, grinned at Yang Xiao, and said,

”Boss, I remember you used to call me Black Jinkang. I like that name.”

It was as if Yang Xiao used to call it ”baby” or ”sweetheart.”

”Alright, Black... Jinkang.”

Yang Xiao looked at the simple creature, feeling a special fondness in his heart, similar to the pet dog he had as a child.

The trader glanced at Yang Xiao and whispered:

”Come inside the house with me to talk.”

Yang Xiao and Qin Lu followed the trader into the house.

It was only then that the trader said mysteriously:

”Do you know about the Genetic Evolution Research Institute on Witch Star?”

Qin Lu nodded.

”Of course, who doesn’t?”

The Genetic Evolution Research Institute on Witch Star is very famous; almost everyone knows it and it carries a sense of mystery.

”These two monsters were transported from Earth. The Genetic Research Institute studied their genes and found them worthless, so they discarded them like trash.

There are people who specifically deal with these monsters discarded by the Genetic Research Institute. I’m just a middleman who happened to buy them.

I thought, since they’re monsters from another planet, some rich folks might want to keep them as pets at home. Unfortunately, these two have a hideous appearance and a large physique that isn’t lovable.

If not for running into you, I would have been stuck with them. Does the young master recognize these two monsters?”

Yang Xiao was startled and said:

”If you bought them legally, then why be so nervous?”

”Alas, you don’t understand. According to the rules of the Genetic Evolution Research Institute, it’s not allowed to resell monsters used for research, even if they are to be executed, they cannot be sold.”

”So, you’re saying that your transactions were conducted privately?”

”Yes,” the trader nodded.

Yang Xiao suddenly remembered something and asked quietly:

”Do you have any acquaintances in the Genetic Evolution Research Institute?”

”I do, but does the young master need me to do something? My abilities are limited, and it’s not easy to inquire about news from the Genetic Evolution Research Institute.”

The trader was truly a businessman, seizing the business opportunity in an instant.

Yang Xiao thought for a moment and said:

”You help me inquire about something, if you can get certain information, I’ll give you 200,000 Crystal Coins.”

”What is it?”

The trader’s eyes shone, who wouldn’t be happy to earn 200,000 Crystal Coins with just a few words?

”You help me find out if the Genetic Research Institute has captured a special kind of animal from Earth, a dragon,”

”A dragon?”

The trader’s body shook as he looked at Yang Xiao.

Even Qin Lu, standing beside him, changed his expression.

”What’s wrong? Is there something amiss?”

Qin Lu glanced at Yang Xiao and said in a low voice:

”Brother Yang, do you know why our Great Dragon Empire is named so?”

”What, does it have something to do with dragons?”

Qin Lu nodded and said:

”The current Emperor of the Great Dragon Empire, Beast Soul, is a dragon. What do you mean by saying the Genetic Evolution Research Institute captured several dragons?”

A shock went through Yang Xiao’s heart,

”The Emperor of the Great Dragon Empire, is his Beast Soul a dragon?”

”Yeah, how dare they catch dragons? Besides, there are no real dragons in this world. On Witch Star, the Dragon Clan has been extinct for over three thousand years,” said the shopkeeper.

”Maybe, the dragons you speak of and the ones I’m referring to are not the same creature. I’m not sure about the specifics.

If you know someone from the Genetic Research Institute, could you help me inquire about whether they have captured some creatures called dragons from Earth, and where they are being held now? What research are they conducting?

If they need to dispose of them like the two Monsters outside, I’m willing to buy them, one million Crystal Coins each.”

After Yang Xiao finished speaking, he took out a Black Crystal Card, and said:

”I’ll give you 100,000 Crystal Coins as an advance for you to gather information. If you can get some valuable information, I’ll pay you more, so you won’t be putting in effort for nothing.”

The shopkeeper’s face lit up with joy, flashing a mouthful of big yellow teeth, as he just earned a quick 100,000 Gold Coins.

”Great, I’ll definitely make inquiries for you. Where can I find you if I have any news?”

”No rush, I’ll come here to find you. You can also look for me at Station Chief Dai’s base.”

Yang Xiao left his contact information and the details of David Base with the shopkeeper.

”Alright, Mister Yang, I’ll notify you as soon as I have any information. By the way, my name is Xu Facai, you can simply call me Old Xu.”

”Okay, Boss Xu, that’ll be all for today, I’ll take my leave.”

”Hey, Mister Qin, why don’t you buy a pretty girl to take home as well? Surely the two of you won’t be sharing one girl, right?”

Qin Lu gave Xu Facai a disdainful look,

”Do I look like that kind of person to you?”

Yang Xiao burst out laughing.

After leaving the shop, Yang Xiao saw Black Jinkang and the Golden Lion King had almost finished eating the twenty-meter-long Monster, leaving only a pile of bones.

The flesh and blood of these Monsters contained powerful Evolution Energy, which Black Jinkang and the lion found very beneficial.

It was one of their few satisfying meals since they had been captured.

The female slave that Yang Xiao had purchased was standing among a group of slaves. As soon as she saw Yang Xiao emerge from the shop, her face immediately brightened with a smile.

The dozen or so female slaves behind her said enviously:

”Ming Yue, have your master take me away too?”

”Ming Yue, now that you’ve met a good master, don’t forget us sisters.”

”Ming Yue, serve your master well and survive.”

...

Yang Xiao approached Ming Yue, who immediately bowed her head and said,

”Ming Yue greets her master.”

The shopkeeper unlocked the chain around Ming Yue’s neck with a key and said,

”You little girl, you’ve struck it lucky. Off you go.”

Yang Xiao sighed,

”Ming Yue, I’ve already paid your ransom. From now on, you are free. You should leave on your own, here is some money for you.”

Yang Xiao did not wish to keep this woman by his side.

Although Ming Yue was also beautiful, almost resembling Leia, he already had Leia. Besides, he himself was still a slave and had many things to do in the future. Having another woman meant he had to divide his attention and take care of them.

Yang Xiao knew his weakness: he was softhearted.

Once he spent too much time with a woman, inevitably some feelings would develop, making it difficult for him to abandoned or sell her. He truly could not bring himself to do such things.

Upon hearing this, Ming Yue’s expression changed drastically, and tears the size of beans started to fall.

She threw herself onto her knees in front of Yang Xiao,

”Please, master, take me with you, I beg you!”

Yang Xiao glanced at Qin Lu, who then said,

”Since she is a slave, if you let her go now, she’ll soon be captured again and still be a slave, abused by others. Your kindness won’t bring her any good.”

Qin Lu was of the rich second generation mentality, regarding such a beautiful slave, he would generally just play with her and then sell her off afterward.
