Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

”Victory for Qing Tan of the Yan City branch!”

When Lin Feng forfeited, the referee was momentarily taken aback before calling out the result loudly. The outcome didn’t surprise anyone; after all, during her time in Lin City, Qing Tan’s talent and strength had gained wide recognition. Her chilling, intense aura and astounding speed of improvement had left a lasting impression on many, including Lin Feng.

”Oh, Lin Feng knew to quit early,” Lin Langtian murmured with a slight smile from his seat in the golden box at the front of the arena. ”Smart move. Qing Tan has already reached the Half-Step Creation stage, it seems…”

Lin Langtian had taken Qing Tan under his wing and brought her into the main family, but even he hadn’t expected her to reach such heights so quickly—her Demonic Yin Physique was indeed formidable. He then mused, ”It won’t be long before the Hall of Darkness comes to take her. Once she’s accepted there, who knows? Perhaps I’ll get a chance to use her connection to access and duplicate the Darkness Ancestral Symbol.”

As if sensing his gaze, Qing Tan looked up, meeting Lin Langtian’s eyes. She flashed him a playful grin and gave a cheerful wave, making a peace sign.

”Heh, this girl…” Lin Langtian chuckled, shaking his head. Though Qing Tan initially resented him for past grievances surrounding Lin Xiao, that grudge had faded since he’d helped her stabilize her Demonic Yin Physique. Living in the main clan for the past six months, she had no one else she felt close to, so she’d grown attached to him, looking to him as an older brother figure. While he could never replace Lin Dong in her heart, Lin Langtian had carved out his own place.

”Lin Mu of the Lin Clan versus Lin Dong of the Yan City branch!”

Soon after Qing Tan’s victory, the referee’s voice echoed from the southern part of the arena. With that announcement, a towering young man with an aura of solid power leapt into the ring, exuding a formidable presence.

”It’s Lin Mu! I didn’t expect him to appear in the first round. He’s one of the top young talents in the clan, right behind Brother Langtian. I hear he’s also reached Half-Step Creation…”

Lin Langtian’s ears caught the murmur, and he shifted his gaze over. He’d expected the Yan City branch to enter Lin Dong in the competition, yet there was still no sign of him. Was Lin Dong waiting to make a dramatic entrance?

Meanwhile, in the arena, the referee scanned the crowd, frowning as Lin Dong still hadn’t appeared. He called out again, ”Lin Dong of the Yan City branch!”

But no figure emerged. Even Lin Mu frowned, glancing around impatiently. In the stands, Lin Zhentian and other family members grew visibly concerned. Although they’d entered Lin Dong in the competition, his absence—likely due to being held up during his recent training—was disappointing. This would be a significant loss for the Yan City branch.

”Don’t worry; I’m sure Lin Dong will make it,” Qing Tan reassured her family as she took her seat after her match.

Knowing of Lin Dong and Lin Langtian’s agreement, Qing Tan was confident Lin Dong wouldn’t miss the chance to settle things once and for all.

”Yes, Dong’er will come. Let’s wait a bit longer,” Lin Zhentian said, with a soft smile as he nodded. His words, coupled with Qing Tan’s, eased the tension among the Yan City family, and they continued waiting, casting their hopeful gazes to the horizon.

As time ticked by, the referee’s patience wore thin. He checked the time, and just as he opened his mouth to declare Lin Mu the winner by default, a powerful surge of energy rippled across the arena. In an instant, the clouds above churned, as if stirred by a vast force, and an intense, concentrated energy filled the air, drawing gasps and countless awestruck stares.

”Who is that? Such powerful energy—surely they’ve reached Half-Step Creation!”

”Half-Step Creation? That’s no small feat, even for the Lin clan’s most gifted. And who in the branch families could achieve this level?”

All eyes locked onto the young figure hovering mid-air, murmurs spreading throughout the crowd like wildfire.

”Is that… Lin Dong?”

In one of the clan’s seating areas, a young man named Lin Chen, who had once encountered Lin Dong during a treasure hunt at Yan City’s ancient tomb, recognized him instantly. ”It is him! That’s Qing Tan’s brother, the one Brother Langtian has spoken highly of.”

”Lin Dong? The one from the branch family that even Brother Langtian acknowledges?”

The murmurs intensified as more people turned to look.

”I thought he wasn’t coming,” someone muttered, ”and assumed he was just too afraid to show up.”

”He doesn’t look afraid at all. I’d say his energy rivals Lin Mu’s,” said another.

”Not so fast,” someone objected. ”Besides Brother Langtian, Lin Mu is ranked among the top three of the main clan. It’s going to be tough for this Lin Dong.”

”Then again, Qing Tan is from the branch family, and she’s unmatched in her age group… except for Brother Langtian.”

As Lin Dong’s presence sent waves of interest through the crowd, hundreds of eyes scrutinized his every move, speculating about his power and potential.

”He puts on a show, pretending to be down-to-earth and calm, but clearly, he loves an over-the-top entrance,” Lin Langtian murmured, watching Lin Dong with a faint smile as he took a sip of tea.
