Wu dong Qian Kun: I, Lin Langtian, Refuse to be a Supporting Character

”Useless, all of you! A bunch of useless fools!”

Five days had passed, and in the Ling family estate, an elder with white hair scolded Ling Long and his two brothers angrily. This elder, though small in stature and lean in appearance, radiated an aura of power far surpassing even Ling Long’s peak Transformation Realm strength.

”Supreme Elder, we didn’t anticipate that the Lin clan would have a prodigy like Lin Langtian. Our oversight cost us dearly, and we are prepared to accept any punishment,” said Ling Long and his brothers, bowing their heads in apology under the elder’s wrath.

This Supreme Elder, named Ling Lie, had been known for his explosive temper in his youth. Since achieving the half-step Nirvana Realm, his authority and power had only grown.

”Hmph. Since you put forth some effort, I’ll let it slide this once. Now gather our forces—we’re going back to Blackrock Manor. I’d like to see what that brat is truly capable of!” Ling Lie squinted his eyes with a menacing look.

”Haha, no need. I’m already here.”

Before Ling Lie could say another word, a light chuckle echoed through the hall as a tall figure cloaked in blue calmly entered.

”It’s you, Lin Langtian!”

Seeing him, Ling Long and his brothers’ eyes filled with surprise, not expecting that Lin Langtian would willingly ”walk into their trap.”

”Guards, seize him!” Ling Long shouted excitedly, ready to take advantage of Lin Langtian’s choice to ”throw himself into the net.”

However, his shouts were met with silence. No one responded. It was as if the entire estate was empty except for the few people in the hall.

”Stop shouting. It’s likely your guards were already dealt with by this boy,” Ling Lie said coldly, his sharp eyes studying Lin Langtian closely.

”As expected of a young talent from the Lin clan,” he said. ”You’ve got skill. Even after traveling across several kingdoms, I rarely see anyone your age with such strength and resourcefulness.”

For Lin Langtian to have silently eliminated more than a hundred guards was an impressive feat, one even Ling Long, Ling Hu, and Ling Quan combined couldn’t achieve. While Ling Lie’s admiration was genuine, so was his sense of threat. As a member of the rival Lin clan, Lin Langtian could not be allowed to grow stronger. If only Lin Langtian were a Ling family member instead, thought Ling Lie. Now, such talent was wasted on an enemy.

”Thank you for the compliments, Elder,” Lin Langtian replied, narrowing his eyes. ”But perhaps if your Ling family stops coveting Blackrock Manor, I’ll consider letting you all go.”

So, this was a half-step Nirvana Realm fighter, Lin Langtian thought, observing Ling Lie. Although he didn’t possess the profound energy of a full Nirvana master like Lin Fan, his strength was still formidable.

”Oh? Young man, don’t make bold claims. Are you implying the Lin clan’s head himself has come?” Ling Lie glanced around cautiously, a hint of tension in his gaze.

The only Lin clan member who concerned him was their Nirvana-level head, Lin Fan. Usually, clan leaders on both sides avoided personal involvement to prevent an escalated conflict that other powers could exploit. But perhaps the Lin clan had decided to break these unspoken rules.

Noticing Ling Lie’s nervous expression, Lin Langtian smirked dismissively and shook his head. ”Relax. It’s just me.”

Hearing this, a hint of surprise flashed in Ling Lie’s old eyes. As a half-step Nirvana fighter, he understood better than anyone the chasm between the Transformation and Nirvana Realms. And Lin Langtian was merely at the Transformation mastery level.

Ling Long and his brothers exchanged glances and sneered. They thought Lin Langtian’s defiance of the Supreme Elder was foolish and bound to end badly. Many geniuses grew arrogant, but they usually met unfortunate ends.

Ling Lie’s eyes narrowed, and he gave a cold smile. ”Defeating Ling Long with your Transformation mastery level is impressive. But no one has ever dared speak to me like this before. It seems today, I’ll have to take your life myself. Hopefully, losing a genius like you won’t drive your clan head to madness.”

”We’ll see if you have what it takes,” Lin Langtian replied, his hands clenching as flames subtly flickered beneath his skin. A powerful aura seeped from him, resisting Ling Lie’s overwhelming pressure without flinching.

”You’ll regret this,” sneered Ling Lie, his sinister expression darkening as faint lightning sparked from his withered hand, flickering at his fingertips like crackling threads of energy.

Suddenly, he moved like a shadow, appearing above Lin Langtian, his claw-like hand brimming with lightning energy as it slashed viciously toward Lin Langtian’s head.

Seeing Ling Lie launch such a deadly attack, Ling Long and the others grinned maliciously, expecting Lin Langtian’s certain death. But just then, a brilliant burst of black light erupted in front of Lin Langtian, revealing a figure cloaked in dark energy.

”Boom!”

A black arm pierced through the darkness, intercepting Ling Lie’s claw, and a terrifying shockwave spread from the collision, sending spiderweb cracks across the ground.

”Bang!”

For a moment, Ling Lie’s claw and the black arm were locked in place. Then, under the force of the clash, Ling Lie staggered back several steps, finally steadying himself.

Ling Long and his brothers were frozen in shock, stunned by what they had just witnessed. Ling Lie, their Supreme Elder, had been forced back by Lin Langtian’s mysterious defender!

Ling Lie quickly regained his balance, but his face showed surprise as he lifted his gaze. In front of him stood a towering figure, exuding a fierce, beastly aura that flowed from it like a living force. Strangely, Ling Lie could detect no life force from this figure.

Realizing the nature of his opponent, Ling Lie’s shock turned to astonishment.

”A spirit puppet?! How could he possess such a powerful puppet?”
