Chapter 1590: Chapter 549: Mad Wings_2

”Indeed, in terms of combat power, even considering other four-color dragons, the prowess of ’Mad Wings’ Metheus is second only to the Dragon King,” Menia nodded and said.

”Rein, could it be that you...?”

Upon hearing Rein’s question, Menia couldn’t help but slightly widen her beautiful eyes, as if she thought of something, and looked at Rein with some confusion.

Because she had just explained everything clearly, Rein couldn’t possibly misunderstand.

But if Rein did understand...

”Menia, let’s go check out ’Mad Wings’ Metheus first,” Rein smiled and nodded, confirming Menia’s assumption.

”Are you serious?”

”Of course.”

”Alright,” Menia hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement.

She believed Rein had confidence in proceeding, and the advice she initially intended to give Rein was swallowed back after some thought.

Following Menia’s graceful and noble figure, they continued through the deep passages of the half-plane for several minutes. Soon, Rein arrived at the entrance of another dragon nest.

”Rein, this is the lair of ’Mad Wings’ Metheus.”

”Besides the routine feeding, it’s been a long time since anyone has visited here.”

”Yes, indeed a powerful dragon,” Rein glanced around, sensing slightly, and felt an invisible pressure permeating the surroundings.

The dragon’s strength was indeed formidable, above even Azurax who had just been encountered.

Additionally, the rumbling snoring indicated the dragon was seemingly in slumber.

As they stepped into the fiery lair, they saw a mountain-like creature of shining black, curled up sleeping soundly in the center of the steaming dragon nest.

”Hmm... I smell the scent of Dragon Bloodline.”

”Are you the offspring of the Dragon?”

At this moment, seemingly triggered by the power of Rein and Menia, some sort of alarm in Metheus’ body was activated, as the sleeping giant black dragon suddenly opened its window-like massive eyes and spoke in a deep voice.

The thunderous voice shook the ceiling, causing fine dust to drift down.

”Lord Metheus, good day, I am Menia Dragon, acting regent of the Empire,” Menia slightly bowed and greeted.

”Alright, it appears much has happened in the Dragon Empire while I was asleep,” Metheus assessed Menia with slight curiosity.

”By the way, could it be that a Dragon Knight seeks to choose me this time?”

”This young man here? Quite a remarkable power.”

”But it’s still impossible on my end; I don’t want a repeat of Ignaz’s situation.”

Soon, Metheus extended its dragon head, looking at Rein, although sensing the ’Dawn Late Stage’ spiritual power wave Rein deliberately revealed, it still shook its head.

Rein understood that Ignaz referred to its previous Dragon Knight, who was mortally injured due to Metheus’s rampage, which Menia had explained earlier on their way.

-----------------

Although Metheus had outright refused, judging from its coherent speech, the dragon only seems to go berserk in battles, similar to a bull charging at the sight of blood.

This made Rein nod internally; if they could communicate normally otherwise, it wouldn’t be much of an issue.

”Lord Metheus, may I know what requirements you have for choosing a Dragon Knight?” Rein wasn’t bothered by Metheus’s speech, instead, he asked with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Metheus scrutinized Rein with its enormous dragon eyes in surprise.

Seeing Rein’s calm demeanor, Metheus seemed mildly amazed, raising its neck for a closer examination.

After all, one can’t be a fool to pass the stringent assessments of a Dragon Knight; those who reach this place are among the best of the Transcendent-tier experts of the Dragon Empire.

And those with the courage to choose it, stand before it, are even more extraordinary, a true rarity.

”I need a Dragon Knight who can control me when I go berserk, young man, although your power is notable, it’s still not feasible.”

”A wizard’s somewhat weaker physique cannot effectively evade my mishaps during my fits of rage. If you were a High Rank Sword Saint, perhaps you could avoid it.”

”Afraid of accidental harm?” Rein couldn’t help but laugh.

”The requirement isn’t very high; I believe I can achieve it,” Rein smiled slightly and said.

”Hmm?”

Both Metheus’s giant dragon eyes and Menia’s beautiful eyes focused onto Rein.

Only to see Rein stride calmly forward, and in the next second, his physique underwent dramatic change!

Muscles bulged, dragon scales emerged, body transformed...

Rein was unleashing the Seventh Form’s Extreme Ancient Dragon Transformation!

Suddenly, a giant dark silver dragon comparable in size to the black dragon Metheus appeared within the dragon nest.

And Metheus, known as ’Mad Wings’, widened its dragon eyes abruptly, as if seeing something unbelievable, involuntarily taking two steps back.

”You... You...”

”Even as the offspring of the Dragon, it’s hardly possible to possess such dense and pure Dragon Bloodline?”

Metheus stared in disbelief, stunned for several seconds before regaining composure, murmuring.

Rein didn’t respond directly to Metheus’s inquiries but instead waved his equally immense dark silver dragon claw, saying:

”Do you wish to spar a bit?”

”I think if I were to be your Dragon Knight, I wouldn’t be injured during your berserk state. Perhaps, I could even awaken you immediately.”
