Chapter 1557: Chapter 536: Duel (Part 3)

Although Pantoscoke was not skilled in mechanical creations, just from the appearance, he concluded that Rein’s Mechanical Demon Dragon couldn’t fly and didn’t seem adept at long-range attacks. Thus, he immediately determined his tactics: fighting while moving in the air to remain invincible.

”Haaa!!!”

In the air, Hazas roared and immediately unleashed an Acidic Breath!

A massive glob of dark green acid spewed from Hazas’s enormous maw, cascading down like a green waterfall from mid-air.

However, that was not the end. Pantoscoke muttered a spell and waved a green crystal staff, conjuring a strong gust of wind that swept toward Rein.

The acid, bolstered by the wind, instantly increased its speed and power severalfold.

With a simple Dragon’s Breath enhanced by wind witchcraft, it exhibited a power nearly equivalent to the Dawn Killing Move. This maneuver by Pantoscoke immediately garnered much admiration.

”The biggest problem with mechanical creations is that they’re entirely metal, which quickly loses combat capability under acid corrosion.”

”Pantoscoke Crown’s combat experience is remarkably rich. In comparison, this young Lord Rein, though lucky to have obtained such a mechanical creation during an exploration of ancient goblin ruins, unfortunately lacks understanding of his opponent’s information.”

”Indeed, it’s a pity that such an Epic Level Battle Power ancient mechanical creation is about to be destroyed. Reginald Crown, why not speak to this young Lord Rein and advise him to concede now...”

Similar thoughts also appeared in Pantoscoke’s mind, as a smile involuntarily curled at the corner of his mouth.

But the next moment, a sudden unease struck him. Through the curtain of green acid rain, he spotted two sudden red lights.

A primal instinctive sense of danger caused him to maneuver Hazas to move slightly.

The next instant!

”Ssshh!”

Two red energy beams shot through, piercing the acidic rain curtain, hitting the lower belly and left wing of the Green Dragon Hazas!

At the same time, the acidic rain also pelted down like hail on the towering Mechanical Demon Dragon.

Both attacks struck each other almost simultaneously!

”What!”

”Trading injury for injury?”

Eager anticipation gripped everyone’s hearts. They hadn’t expected both sides to get injured at the first clash.

Is this really just a contest?

This is fiercer than a duel!

”You!!” Pantoscoke glared at Rein with a dark expression.

”Due to certain defeat, you choose to injure Hazas, just to satisfy your unwillingness to lose? As I thought, Rein, your mindset is utterly unsuitable for becoming an Imperial Guardian.”

The sizzling sound of corrosion echoed from the Mechanical Demon Dragon, as thick, acrid smoke billowed out, and its once gleaming metallic luster was now pitted and corroded, with some joint lines even showing damage.

To everyone, although Rein had injured Pantoscoke’s Green Dragon, the damage to the Mechanical Demon Dragon seemed greater.

”Oh? Certain defeat?”

”Who gave you such blind confidence?” Rein couldn’t help but find it amusing.

This ’Storm Cloud’ Crown sure had a rather inflated self-regard.

As Rein spoke, he flashed to the Mechanical Demon Dragon’s side. With a press of his palm, a thick dark silver metallic glow began to ripple from his hand, enveloping the large body of the Mechanical Demon Dragon.

This was the core skill ’Quick Repair (Active)’ that Rein possessed after transitioning to a Goblin Engineering Expert.

Every time the dark silver ripples covered the pitted surface of the Mechanical Demon Dragon’s metal, those pits were partially repaired, as if the wrinkled fabric was being gradually smoothed out by an iron.

In just a few seconds, the Mechanical Demon Dragon was restored to its original state, an occurrence that left everyone astonished.

”Is this..... a type of Metal Series Witchcraft?”

”No wonder this Lord Rein chose to use this ancient goblin machine in battle; the effect of this witchcraft matches metal machinery too perfectly.”

The Imperial Guardians naturally mistook Rein’s core skill as a rare type of Metal Series Witchcraft.

After all, Metal Series Wizards were already rare, and Rein’s ’Quick Repair’ did utilize metal energy particles, so such a misunderstanding was completely normal.

”You...” Pantoscoke’s eyes widened, pointing at Rein, momentarily lost for words.

Because, in contrast, Hazas’s injuries couldn’t possibly heal quickly, rendering his earlier words essentially a harsh self-critique.

This left Pantoscoke somewhat embarrassed and angry.

His face slightly flushed, he held back his anger and said in a deep voice, ”It looks like I underestimated you, but, who the victor is yet remains to be seen!”

”Hazas, Drowsy Poison Cloud!”

Riddled with pain, Hazas glared at Rein with a look full of hate and immediately spewed out a massive dark green mist toward Rein.

Compared to its earlier Acidic Breath, the power of this poisonous cloud was far greater.

Moreover, this thick mist with a sleep-inducing effect was something even the defensive witch arrays barely held off, as screens of light rose in the grandstand to block the mist.

”Is this the Drowsy Poison Cloud?”

Rein had naturally heard of Pantoscoke’s famed move.

It’s said that once tainted by this poison cloud, one would instantly fall asleep, as though pulled into a dream. Only by relying on a strong spiritual power could one possibly resist it.
