Chapter 1566: Chapter 539: Final Decision Authority_2

Another royal elder, who seemed to have previously watched the duel between Rein and Pantoscoke, stroked his graying beard and also smiled in agreement.

Others also expressed their opinions, all unanimously agreeing.

Seeing this scene, Everton couldn’t help but look increasingly grim.

His grandaunt, with her beauty, prowess, and tact, was undeniably outstanding, and it seemed she had already colluded with some royal elders.

However, evidently, his grandaunt hadn’t revealed Rein’s secret, which was a fatal weakness!

There was no other way—if he wanted to stop it now, he had to reveal this secret!

Even if it meant estranging himself from his grandaunt, he had no choice!

”Wait, I do not agree with this promotion of Rein,” Everton said loudly.

”Hmm?” The people present couldn’t help but look curiously at Second Prince Everton, as Rein was undoubtedly most qualified, whether judged by strength or mission participation.

The Imperial Guardian assessment valued two points above all: individual strength and participation in imperial missions.

Rein had been promoted from an Imperial Swordsman, having participated in countless missions large and small.

In other words, if Rein wasn’t qualified, then none of the others on the list were either.

”Everton, everything should serve the greater good,” Menia’s beautiful eyes narrowed, exuding a unique aura of noble dignity.

For she vaguely guessed what Everton wanted to say!

Everton’s eyes flashed with a gleam as he stared at Menia and smiled, ”Grandaunt, I’m sure you haven’t told the elders that Rein possesses not dragon bloodline, but multi-headed dragon bloodline, correct?”

”What!” Everton’s words immediately caused an uproar among the present royal elders!

Being of Dragon bloodline themselves, they naturally knew this secret.

And Princess Renala lightly covered her little mouth, her eyes widening, full of disbelief.

Since witnessing the duel between Rein and Pantoscoke, a sense of admiration had secretly blossomed in Renala’s heart for Rein.

Previously, she had met many talented young men of the Empire, but none left her moved until she saw Rein’s splendor in the Royal Arena.

But who could have imagined that Rein was of the multi-headed dragon bloodline?

Wait, it’s said that when Grandaunt Menia was young...

Renala glanced at her expressionless grandaunt, then felt a pang of empathy, ”Everton, don’t speak carelessly without evidence.”

”Evidence? Would you need me to bring forth each person who participated in the Battle of Ferdinand Forest?” Everton sneered.

For a moment, all eyes were fixed on Menia, seated at the head of the table.

For they knew that the Empire’s lead during the battle at Ferdinand Forest was ’Red Queen’ Menia herself.

However, at this moment, Menia...remained silent.

Because such a matter could easily be proven.

Unless she silenced all the Imperial elites who participated in the battle, something even if possible, she evidently wouldn’t do.

All present were astute people, and Menia’s silence made them instantly understand something.

Silence itself spoke volumes.

”I suggest we vote on whether to agree with Rein becoming an Imperial Guardian,” Everton said, smiling confidently.

Immediately afterward, he raised his right hand first, ”All those opposed, raise your hands.”

As expected by Everton, one by one, the royal elders raised their hands.

”According to ancestral teachings, all offspring of the evil foreign bloodline, like the multi-headed dragon bloodline, must be eradicated.”

”If that’s the case, I support the Second Prince’s view.”

”...”

Everton proudly glanced around, seeing that among the current four royal elders, three had raised their hands, including himself, making it four out of seven votes against.

One elder had long been on good terms with Grandaunt Menia, so it was normal for him not to raise his hand.

As for Renala, although Everton was somewhat puzzled as to why she hadn’t raised her hand, since it didn’t affect the result, he didn’t delve deeper.

”Four votes to three, Grandaunt, it seems...” Everton said with a smile, looking at Menia.

However, he was soon interrupted by Menia before finishing.

”Wait, in His Majesty’s absence, I have full authority over the Empire’s affairs. Now, I exercise my final decision power to approve Rein’s promotion to Imperial Guardian—no further discussion,” Menia said blandly.

”What! Grandaunt! If Father knew of this, he surely wouldn’t agree!” Everton’s eyes widened, and he immediately jumped up from his seat, face reddened, loudly questioning.

”Oh? But currently, I have that authority, do I not?” Menia remained unmoved, casting a calm glance at Everton.

”You...you will regret this!”

Fuming, Everton, panting like a bull, snorted heavily and swiftly left the imperial conference room!

...

Second Prince Mansion.

”Bang!!!”

Returning to his study, Everton could no longer contain his anger as he violently smashed a usually cherished bust sculpture onto the ground.

”Damn it! All for Rein, Grandaunt would rather confront me head-on—it’s true, women are women!”

Standing nearby, Buchanan lowered his head even further, for he naturally dared not and could not involve himself in such a topic.

”Alright, Buchanan, you may leave now!”

”As you command, Your Highness.”

With Buchanan’s departure, Everton forced himself to calm down and took a deep breath.

He approached the desk, gently rotated the base of the Crystal Ball on the third shelf. Soon, the bookshelf split into two halves and moved aside, revealing a hidden door.

Entering through the hidden door, after passing through a short corridor, he immediately arrived at a space.

It was a small secret room, surrounded not only by common gold, precious jewels, and ancient texts but also, on the floor in the center, intricately etched lines of a witch array, seemingly a rare kind.

As Everton murmured a spell, a faint blue light flashed, and he vanished from his original spot.

When Everton reappeared, he had arrived at another place.

A familiar and pungent potion aroma rushed into Everton’s nasal cavity; he had arrived at the top-secret base of the Dragon Scale Brotherhood—his special Dragon Blood compounds’ manufacturing site.

”Your Highness!” A hideous-looking freak stepped forward and bowed in greeting.

”How is it? Is the Super Evolution Potion’s test still incomplete?”

”Your Highness, the current three test subjects couldn’t withstand the enormous energy of the compound and burst to death. Even those with legendary-level specialized constitutions couldn’t endure it.”

”However, we didn’t come out empty-handed. We tested a young dragon, discovering it can withstand the Super Evolution Potion. But its growth state is somewhat peculiar.”

”Oh? Show me.” Everton revealed an intrigued expression.

”As you command, Your Highness.”

As they walked down the long corridor, giant cylinders lined both sides, containing a special liquid immersing various human, dragon-man, and other monstrous bodies.

Some were alive, some still twitching, and others’ states were unknown.

Further ahead, still towering cylinders, but they immersed various young dragons and... giant adult dragon hearts...

whose cardiac muscles were still beating.

Teams of three sturdy dragon-man guards patrolled back and forth with strict vigilance; every several tens of meters, one could see a tall and mighty dragon-man similar to the transformed Bostaf.

Proceeding further inside, Everton and the ugly freak passed by a rather special room.

Inside the spacious room, at least several hundred square meters large, grew plenty of green shrubs and vines, creating a micro-forest environment.

More astonishingly, dozens of tall, beautiful elves lived inside.

But upon closer look, these elves appeared pale, their beautiful eyes large yet lifeless, their bodies weaker than regular elves, with bare arms densely marked with needle scars.

Seeing the elves, Everton couldn’t help recalling the original intention behind establishing the Dragon Scale Brotherhood.

”Elf Blood Essence mixed with Dragon Bloodline underwent special processing, allowing fusion to form a new extraordinary substance... he named it the Super Evolution Potion!”

And those potion derivatives intended to boost bloodline bursts or evolution levels were by-products of the Super Evolution Potion.
