Chapter 1587: Chapter 548: The Long-Awaited Dragon Knight

”Reign’s Crown’s meaning, are we to create gods?”

Upon hearing this, many key figures and Imperial Guardians showed shock and whispered among themselves.

Without listening closely, Rein already knew that most of these whispers were filled with skepticism.

After all, even if we want to create gods, someone must first advance to demigod status to have a chance to absorb the power of faith from the common people.

Currently, the entire Empire does not have a single demigod-level strong individual. To talk of creating gods is undoubtedly building castles in the air, fishing for the moon in water.

”No, what I mean is, what we lack most is actually confidence!” Rein said solemnly.

In a past life, there was a saying that confidence is sometimes more important than gold; it applies in this world and in this moment as well.

After experiencing the second Imperial City battle and the demise of Emperor Carlos II, Rein previously saw on the road that ordinary people’s expressions were full of worry and anxiety, and the once brave and steadfast Griffin Knights’ eyes were also full of discouragement.

Even many of the Empire’s high nobles have already lost confidence.

If no intervention and guidance are given, people’s confidence will scatter throughout the Empire, resulting in further chaos—a setting ripe for the rise of cults.

”Confidence?”

”This...”

Upon hearing Rein’s words, numerous Imperial Guardians and key figures began to ponder, even the ’Red Queen’ Menia sitting in the main seat showed a thoughtful expression.

Indeed, in dealing with divine affairs, even amongst high nobles, a considerable part have already lost confidence.

Then, a somewhat discordant voice sounded:

”Haha, what Crown Rein mentioned about confidence is correct, but it does not touch upon how to solve the practical problem.”

”I think if we can resolve the increasingly frequent cult massacres, solve the issue of arable land decay, solve the decline in Empire’s tax revenue, etc., everyone will have confidence.”

It turned out to be the Minister of Internal Affairs speaking.

Although Rein showcased impressive strength during the great battle, the upper powers of the Dragan Empire are intertwined and deeply rooted; it is far from the point where Rein can speak, and everyone must listen respectfully.

However, that Minister of Internal Affairs clearly feared Rein and dared not use words that would openly provoke anger, opting for trouble instead, proposing difficulties.

”As everyone knows, I have always been with the Imperial Swordsmen. For increasingly active actions against cults, I have a thought.”

”Actually, in each province or critical area of the Empire, the primary force to suppress cults is still mid-level power, such as Swordsmen and the Military Department’s special divisions, etc.”

”We can swiftly strengthen this part of the force, such as introducing Mechanical Magic Statues. This is something I slightly attempted on the Shirendil Plateau with very good results...”

Following this, Rein briefly described the process of the School Wizards from Isodre and Bixiu Mechanization Schools utilizing mechanical devices like Mechanical Land Birds, swift dragons, and Scythe Claw Dragons to slaughter mutant spider hordes.

”Through this method, we can significantly reduce the casualties of mid-level combat personnel in the process of slaughtering cultists, thereby increasing the Empire’s control over its territory.”

”Good public security, coupled with guidance in propaganda, is how we can reconstruct the people’s confidence; cults lose their breeding ground, and the revival speed of the Evil Gods will also slow.”

Rein’s words immediately drew the attention of the Imperial Guardians, and several of the Empire’s advanced generals present, including Marshal Alfred, began taking notes.

And upon hearing that Rein truly had detailed solutions, albeit only targeting public security, but with high feasibility, the Minister of Internal Affairs stammered twice but did not speak further.

After all, making suggestions is one thing, but if one were to be troublesome without reason, it would only invite trouble.

”I think Crown Rein’s suggestion is excellent. I hope that after the meeting, the Empire Military Department, Swordsmen, and several other departments can immediately come up with a plan and arrange for implementation.” Menia smiled, decisively saying.

Initially, she worried whether Rein would be accustomed to such occasions.

But Rein’s performance was unexpectedly good.

At this point, Menia, seemingly reminded of something, turned her head to the Grand Astromancer Dalain sitting beside her, asking:

”Crown Dalain, as the head of the Empire’s Star Mage’s Platform, after this battle, roughly how long will it take for the Evil Gods to have the ability to descend with demigod-level avatars?”

”Well...even I, and the astrologers included, do not have the ability to make accurate predictions.”

”However, although the divine expended considerable divine power during this Imperial City battle, according to my judgment, in at most six months to a year, a divine will revive to the point of being capable of descending with demigod-level avatars.”

”The premise is still following Crown Rein’s proposal and effectively curbing the cults.”

”Six months to a year?”

”Then the fastest is only six months?”

”So soon?”

Many key figures of the Empire changed their expressions, though they were aware that the increasing fluctuation of energy tides accelerates divine revival time.

However, they could never have thought that the time unit would not be in terms of centuries, or even decades, but months.

In this light, the victory in the Imperial City battle merely granted the Empire a brief respite.

This...

”Ladies and gentlemen, time isn’t on our side, which is why His Majesty decided to directly pursue demigod status.”
