Chapter 1574: Chapter 543: Top Secret and Promotion

An emergency meeting was immediately convened in the Imperial Palace, including Menia, all elders of the royal family with dragon blood.

”I think we can hold the investiture ceremony for the new Guardian in two days.”

”A great suggestion. In that case, suddenly summoning most of the Imperial Guardians back to the Imperial City won’t seem so abrupt.” Elder Ivan nodded and said.

”But how do we handle the gap in combat power of various provinces once the local Imperial Guardians leave? Those cults will surely take the opportunity to act, and the common people will likely...” Another royal elder frowned and said.

”We can’t care about that now, choosing the lesser of two evils is our best option.” Elder Ivan sighed and said.

”I suggest we also call back Crown Walker this time.” At this moment, Menia, who was in the main seat, spoke up.

”Crown Walker? But if he leaves, what if Queen Trebiz of the Wind Roc makes a move?” Another royal elder asked.

”I agree, we must learn from last time’s lesson. If we had called back a Dawn Peak powerhouse like Crown Walker last time, the results might have been completely different.” Elder Ivan supported.

”....”

Half an hour later, the meeting ended.

Colorful magical messages were sent from the Imperial Palace in all directions.

At the same time, as if for extra security, large numbers of Blood Falcons and swifts carrying secret messages flew out of the palace again a few minutes later.

The content of the secret message contained only one sentence: ”On the last Sunday of this month, the Empire’s new Guardian investiture ceremony will be held...”

This was also the best reason agreed upon by the royal elders for gathering most of the Imperial Guardians in Imperial City Tamriel in two days.

Of course, this kind of subterfuge might not be very effective on the Divine, but if some matters can be kept hidden a bit longer, it means higher chances of success on our side.

...

At the site of the Bixiu Mechanization School.

Rein, after a slight attempt, was happily surprised to find that his progress in outlining the Advanced Meditation Method’s ”Steel Heart” Fifth Layer model had increased by three runes of will, reaching 395 will runes.

This was as he had expected, the increase in the total amount of spiritual power was indeed beneficial for advancing the meditation method’s progress.

A few hours later.

Rein pushed the progress to 412, but the speed of progress started to slow down again. He knew that the current level of improvement was nearing its limit.

In other words, the drug effect benefits from taking the Extraordinary Wisdom Potion were gradually becoming exhausted at this point.

”The effect of absorbing Divine Power Crystals is still the best.” Rein couldn’t help but sigh.

At this moment, suddenly, the communication mark on Rein’s chest began to flicker.

With a slight sense, Rein frowned slightly, then immediately left the secret chamber and went to the palace.

Since magical messaging is not absolutely safe, Menia was at this moment in a secluded secret chamber of the palace, waiting for Rein.

Soon, under the guidance of a female attendant, Rein arrived at the secret chamber.

After the female attendant left, Rein couldn’t help but ask:

”Menia, what is so urgent?”

”Rein, there is something you need to pay special attention to. Two days later...” Menia recounted the situation in detail.

After listening to what Menia said, Rein’s expression also turned grave.

Only then did Rein know that last time when the emperor attempted to ascend to Demigod, he was interrupted by several Divine Avatars at a critical moment and was not successful, and he also suffered serious injuries.

It must be noted that the information he had received earlier was not like this.

It seems that for the sake of the Empire’s morale and the royal family’s prestige, the circulated message was modified and processed. The message declared that although the Empire Emperor was seriously injured, his failed ascension was portrayed as a successful one.

”So, is it likely that those Divine will descend again this time?” After a moment of contemplation, Rein asked.

Although Menia’s consciousness had briefly merged into his body earlier, due to the short time, Rein only knew part of the secrets and knowledge Menia possessed.

”Yes, this possibility is very high.” Menia nodded and said.

”Menia, won’t two days be too rushed? Why doesn’t the Emperor choose a time when he’s more prepared to ascend?” Rein asked again.

”Because the intensification of the energy tide has a much greater effect on the revival of the Divine than our strength increase speed.”

”The strengthening of the energy tide’s fluctuation will indeed create more powerhouses for the Empire, but that takes time.”

”And time is precisely what we don’t have.”

”I understand.” Rein nodded.

”One more question. I heard that the Empire’s founding Emperor Atlas was a Demigod Level powerhouse, and then it seems there were two more Emperors who also reached the Demigod Level. Where are they?”

This question had lingered in Rein’s mind for a long time.

Of course, if not for the special relationship between him and Menia, Rein might not even find an appropriate person to ask for the answer to this question.

”Indeed, all three ancestors successfully reached the Demigod Level, but that was two thousand years ago. At that time, it happened to be shortly after the Empire was established, and they noticed that the energy tide gradually descended to a low point.”

”Humans are not a long-lived race; their lifespans are limited. Perhaps the Divine and those Ancient Giant Beasts can escape by slumbering, but humans cannot.”

”So, even though the ancestors were powerful, they could only seek other methods. According to the royal family’s secret records, the ancestors and the few Full Moon Wizards at that time all went to other worlds.”
