Chapter 416: Chapter 205: At Most, No More Than One Minute (2-in-1 Mega Chapter)

In the carriage, Lord Reine chatted with Vinica about horse breeds with great interest.

For Lord Reine, this was new knowledge.

Vinica explained, “The ‘Jenny’ horse is medium-sized, agile, and has good endurance. It is commonly used by local gentry for hunting or by light cavalry in combat. Moreover, it is the most common horse breed in the empire.”

“Many noblewomen, if they ride, generally choose this kind of horse because the ‘Jenny’ horse has a gentler temperament and moves gracefully,” she continued.

Lord Reine recalled the horses he had seen at the stables in Flashgold Town.

Indeed, judging by their build, they seemed to be of this type.

It appeared to be just as Vinica had said, the so-called ‘Jenny’ horse must be the most common horse breed in the empire.

“However, Your Lordship’s black horse, although its build barely shows traces of the ‘Jenny’ horse, would make most people think it’s a ‘Roc’ horse,” she added.

Before Lord Reine could ask, Vinica began to introduce the ‘Roc’ horse on her own.

“The ‘Roc’ horse is bred in Roc County for the empire’s heavy cavalry or fully-armed knights to charge into battle. It has strong weight-bearing capabilities and fast sprinting speed, but its agility is somewhat lesser,” she explained.

“Furthermore, they are expensive to buy and rarely circulated outside, generally used more by the nobility, proper knights, or heavy cavalry,” she said.

“The height and muscular build of the ‘Roc’ horse are similar to that of your black horse.”

Lord Reine nodded, indicating he understood.

No wonder when he was fully armed, he had distinctly felt that the yet unmutated ‘Black Pearl’ struggled somewhat, gasping after just a short sprint.

Only after ‘Black Pearl’ had mutated did it improve significantly.

At that moment, a small emerald bird suddenly descended outside the carriage, entered the compartment, and chirped several times in front of Vinica.

Instantly, Vinica furrowed her brows and said, “Lord Reine, it seems there might be enemies lying in ambush ahead.”

Upon hearing this, Lord Reine frowned, then relaxed, saying, “I didn’t expect to encounter a roadblock so close to Fishing Port Town.”

Lord Reine concentrated and sensed his surroundings, indeed, not far ahead, there seemed to be several vague figures.

However…

Their strength seemed not to be strong.

His level 3 danger perception skill gave him only a faint warning.

Although these enemies’ strength was completely manageable by the navy’s elite team,

Lord Reine thought about it and decided to go down and take a look himself.

Not for any other reason, he planned to use Kadar Martial Arts to fight, which should also provide him with some experience points.

‘Even a mosquito’s leg is meat.’

If the trip to Fishing Port Town might elevate his Kadar Martial Arts to level 6, he could also save some skill points.

Seeing Lord Reine hold the door handle, intending to leave the carriage, Major Mary exclaimed in surprise, “Lord Reine, are the enemies ahead so strong that you need to handle them personally?”

After all, the twelve cavalrymen she brought were not ordinary cavalry.

Among them, two were of official knight strength, and the remaining ten were well-trained, well-coordinated quasi-knights, forming a standard navy elite squad.

Their team could typically handle a band of forty bandits without sustaining injuries.

“Not really, I’ve just been sitting for a while and want to stretch a bit,” Lord Reine said as he gripped the plate gauntlet in his hand.

Hmm?

This statement made both women exchange glances, at a loss for words for a moment.

Watching Lord Reine open the carriage door and step down, Vinica nudged Mary and said, “Has Lord Reine always been like this? He feels like a battle maniac.”

Mary looked puzzled, thought for a moment, and then shook her head slightly.

“Before? From what I recall… probably not…”

“Come on, let’s also go down and take a look. You’ve talked so much about how strong Baron Reine’s combat abilities are; now’s the perfect chance to see them.”

Clearly, Vinica was somewhat skeptical about what Mary had previously said regarding Reine’s combat strength, as her concept of ‘very strong in combat’ was completely different from Mary’s, being a level 3 Wizard Apprentice.

Eager to observe firsthand, Vinica pulled Mary excitedly to alight from the carriage.

The cavalrymen had already stopped and were on guard at Vinica’s sign earlier.

Just as the leading two knights were preparing for battle, they hadn’t expected the carriage door to suddenly open and Baron Reine, wielding a sword hammer, to step down.

The two navy knights exchanged glances, about to say something to Reine,

when ‘swoosh’, Reine vanished from the spot in a flash.

This left them momentarily slack-jawed, unsure whether to stay on guard or move forward to assist in combat.

…

Meanwhile, as Reine was alighting from the carriage, in the woods alongside the road not far away, Ironhook was scolding the gaunt man responsible for scouting.

“How come there’s an extra knight?” Ironhook glanced at him discontentedly and said.

“This… I didn’t know either, Ironhook, but with our strength, taking down one more official knight shouldn’t be a problem, right?”

“Not that it’s a problem, but some of our brothers might get injured,” Ironhook glanced at Reine and responded confidently.
