Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2040: Chapter 2042: Blades Cross

Having prepared her things, Chiang Qing dragged Mother Qi up to the next floor. It was an unfinished building, just a three-story framework, and the roof, naturally, was the rooftop.

Mother Qi’s whole body was limp and powerless, her small frame being dragged by Chiang Qing like a rag, wanting to beg, wanting to call for help, but her mouth was dry as bone, with no moisture to speak of.

She couldn’t utter a single word, even wanting to cry, but she couldn’t shed a tear!

Chiang Qing dragged Mother Qi onto the rooftop, all the way to a spot not far from the edge, and threw her to the ground.

Mother Qi’s hair was disheveled, her face swollen and dry, her mouth corners cracked; in less than a day, her hair had turned completely white, her appearance withered, she looked like she had aged more than ten years, truly pitiful.

”Help... help!” Mother Qi couldn’t care about the pain all over her body, seeing the wide expanse in front of her, with no flat ground in sight, her spirit was almost gone, barely squeezing out these dry words from her mouth.

Chiang Qing glanced at her, laughed, and said: ”If I throw you down from here, you’d shatter, wouldn’t you? Three floors, huh.”

Mother Qi’s already colorless face turned directly to an ashen gray upon hearing this.

What a venomous, wicked woman!

Heavens above, gods everywhere, who could come and save her, she was about to die!

Mother Qi cried in despair, while Chiang Qing chuckled evilly.

Other people’s suffering was her joy.

Calmly sitting down, she took out a syringe filled with some medicinal liquid, lifted it to have a look, and couldn’t help but curl her lips, waiting quietly.

...

Cheng Su was searching along with Qi Taiguo in those vacant rooms, but found nothing.

”Could we have guessed wrong?” Cheng Su looked around, still unable to find a sign after so long.

Qi Taiguo looked at an old building covered with climbing plants and some moss, and said, ”We shouldn’t be wrong, she was making calls from nearby; it shouldn’t be far.”

”But what if she’s deliberately misleading us? What if she called across a district on purpose?” Cheng Su said.

Qi Taiguo fell silent, an uneasy turmoil in his heart.

”Battalion Commander Qi...”

Someone came running over, and the couple turned to see the police chief approaching.

”Look at this.” He handed over a note while gasping for air, saying: ”Someone delivered this to our searcher.”

”Where’s the person?” Cheng Su asked anxiously.

”We’re tracking them now.”

”Look, is it that building?” Qi Taiguo looked at the writing on the note and then at that ramshackle building.

Cheng Su took the note and saw it instructed her to meet alone, threatening to kill Mother Qi if any extra people were seen. A simple drawing of a building was also sketched, likely Chiang Qing’s demand.

She compared it with the building, saying: ”It should be.”

Qi Taiguo immediately ran over.

Cheng Su hurried to follow, not forgetting to tell the police: ”Chief. Please arrange for some police force.” With that, she chased after Qi Taiguo.

Chiang Qing stood up on the rooftop, looking down at various positions, wanting to see where Cheng Su would come from, when suddenly, her eyes fixed.

The two people running over, one in front, one behind, in such haste, at such great speed—if she looked carefully, wasn’t that Cheng Su... and Qi Taiguo?

Chiang Qing stared at the approaching figures, was he back?

It was him, definitely him, after all these years, she still recognized him, even if he turned to ashes, she’d recognize him.

He was here!

And with Cheng Su reaching out, good, very good, the two were better than Cheng Su alone, more satisfying to her, the showdown was finally here.

Qi Taiguo, I wonder how you’ll choose?
