Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2029: Chapter 2031: What Bad Luck Did I Attract

A glaring light shone into her eyes. Mother Qi couldn’t bear the strong light, furrowing her brows as she slowly opened her eyes. Who was it, turning on such a bright light—didn’t they care about the electricity bill?

It must be that woman Cheng Su, always so extravagant with money.

She squinted her eyes, slightly turned her head, and slowly opened them again. Just from moving her head, she felt dizzy and weak all over.

What was happening? Her body felt so limp. Mother Qi tried to raise her hand, only to find that her hand wouldn’t move, as if... she was tied up!

This realization forced her to open her eyes wide. Forgetting about the bright light, she tried to move her hands—they were indeed bound.

Who tied her up?

Why did they tie her up?

Mother Qi struggled a bit, feeling dizzy and extremely uncomfortable, involuntarily letting out a cry: ”My head, it hurts so much!”

What was going on?

A sudden flash of memory struck Mother Qi. Right, she was splashed with blood, and that guy said he would pay her. She followed him, then got into the car? It seemed like someone put something over her head?

Thinking this, Mother Qi’s face changed slightly. Wasn’t this something from a TV drama? What do they call it? Yes, yes, kidnapping! It’s kidnapping!

Her eyes flew open wide, her mind completely awake, and Mother Qi looked around, stunned.

Was that a window? But it wasn’t a window; there was no window frame. There were many pillars around, all painted with cement. Across from her, there was a shabby sofa with a woman sitting on it.

On the other side, there were two men standing, one big and one small—weren’t they the ones who said they’d pay her money?

Dear God, she had been tricked!

”Who are you? What do you want?” Mother Qi’s face turned pale with terror, and as she struggled, she realized that not only were her hands tied with ropes, but she was also bound to a chair.

Mother Qi had spent her whole life in the countryside, hadn’t seen much of the world, or experienced major upheavals. Her life had always been stable, working in the fields. How could she have seen such a scene?

Now, her entire body was tied to the chair, unable to break free. She trembled with fear, tears welling up.

”What do you want to do? I don’t need you to pay me anymore, just let me go!” She looked at the brothers, thinking she had offended some robbers.

The brothers exchanged a glance, staying silent, only looking at the woman on the sofa.

The woman, Chiang Qing, laughed and said, ”Old lady, don’t be afraid. We won’t hurt you!”

”Then release me,” Mother Qi said. ”I have nothing, no money. I’m just an old woman from the countryside, who understands nothing. Good young lady, please let me go! I will set up a tablet for Changsheng and worship you every day, okay?”

Oh heavens, all gods above, what misfortune had she attracted? How could this be happening?

Wasn’t there anyone coming to save her, Cheng Su, Taiguo, Jianguo—where were they?

Mother Qi’s tears of terror flowed constantly as she struggled with the ropes on her hands. She was terrified!

Chiang Qing stood up from the sofa, chuckling, ”Old Lady Qi, what do I need your spirit tablet for? You can’t eat that!”

Old Lady Qi?

Mother Qi was taken aback, looking at the woman, ”You know me?”

”Why wouldn’t I know you? We’ve even met before!” Chiang Qing slowly walked over, looking down at her. ”Old Lady Qi, are you too old to remember me?”

Mother Qi stared blankly at Chiang Qing. Met before? Where?

She looked at the woman’s face in front of her, sharp and pointed, with a scar that looked terrifying—she seemed a bit familiar, where had she seen it before?
