Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2036: Chapter 2038: A Bloodied Finger

Cheng Su woke up; it was already broad daylight. She glanced at the small alarm clock on the bedside table. It was past eight o’clock, and she quickly got up.

After tidying up, she walked out to the hall, only to see Qi Taiguo and several police officers gathered around the table, looking serious.

Cheng Su walked over and asked, ”What...”

Her eyes glanced over, and her face turned pale; her eyes widened, her mouth open, fingertips cold.

It was a small box, containing a bloody finger inside.

Who sent it? No need to say.

Cheng Su’s head spun, her steps staggered; Chiang Qing, she’s insane, even targeting elders, she’s insane!

Qi Taiguo supported her and said, ”Don’t look, go and wash your face!” With that, he led her to the bathroom.

During the short walk to the bathroom, Cheng Su’s steps were shaky. She gripped Qi Taiguo’s arm tightly, looking at him and asking, ”No way? That finger, it’s not Mother’s, is it?”

”Judging by the texture and skin, it’s not from a young person, so very likely...” Qi Taiguo said, his face dark.

Cheng Su felt dizzy again, quickly leaning on the sink, gasping heavily, almost in disbelief.

These things were only seen on TV, and that was acting, but happening around her for real, experiencing two lifetimes, it was a first.

”Insane, insane.” Cheng Su clutched her chest feeling stifled, pounded it a few times, and asked again, ”When was it delivered?”

”Just now. A child was sent to deliver it; we asked, and the child was just paid a fee to run the errand.” Qi Taiguo said.

Cheng Su nodded, looking at him: ”We need to find her quickly. It’s a finger now, next time...” Moreover, excessive bleeding is also dangerous.

Qi Taiguo tapped her shoulder and walked out of the bathroom.

Cheng Su held onto the sink, feeling very uneasy. She and Mother Qi didn’t get along, it was a mother-in-law issue, but she never wished for her death or such suffering.

An old lady, who hadn’t done anything heinous, why add such torment?

Now, is Mother Qi paying the price on their behalf?

Cheng Su lowered her eyes and mechanically grabbed the toothbrush to wash.

”Found her.”

Outside in the hall, someone shouted.

Cheng Su dropped the towel in her hand and rushed out.

She saw the police chief spreading out the Guangcheng map, using a pen to mark it, pointing at a spot where the convenience store was discovered.

He circled an area, saying: ”This area has many migrant workers, focus the investigation on rental housing, the surroundings also need to be checked...”

Cheng Su listened quietly to him deploying police forces. When he stopped, she interrupted: ”Chief, should we first check those vacant houses or factory buildings? Rental housing is dense, and the population is large. This kidnapping is quite noticeable; they should be cautious, and additionally...” She glanced at the already covered box and said, ”Places that are sparsely populated and more open tend to attract less attention.”

Everyone listened to her and seemed to be contemplating.

”Let’s split into two teams, focus on checking rental housing. Who knows, we might find a clue!”

Cheng Su didn’t say anything further, just offered her opinion. Professionally speaking, of course, the police were more skilled.

Quickly, the police moved into action, Qi Taiguo was going to follow them, and Cheng Su intended to go along too.

”Stay home!” Qi Taiguo restrained her.

Cheng Su looked at him, shaking her head, ”No! I’m going with you.” Going through this together.

The two locked eyes, and Qi Taiguo released his hand.
