Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1794: Chapter 1796: Do What You Believe Is Right

The shop was entrusted to Zhan Qin, and Cheng Su went ahead to sell the piece of land previously gifted by Old Master Cheng and bought a plot twice its size with the proceeds.

This decision puzzled Cheng Yaozong and the others. Not to mention, the land Cheng Su and Ning Ge bought earlier was in the eastern district, and after a year or two, there had been no signs of development there.

Now, Cheng Su bought a plot still nearby, but this time it was near the riverside, with villages surrounding it. What use could such land possibly have? In contrast, the piece gifted by Old Master Cheng was in the center, appreciating fast, and in just two years, its value more than doubled.

Even Old Master Cheng found it odd, wondering if Cheng Su might not be thinking clearly after becoming a parent.

The land was given out by Old Master Cheng himself, so however Cheng Su wanted to deal with it was up to her, but the old master was worried about her suffering a loss, so he couldn’t help but inquire.

Cheng Su laughed and said, ”Land is meant to be used; it’s just a piece of land if left idle. Now someone offered a high price, sell it, buy a bigger one, roll the money, and money can grow money.” After a pause, she added, ”Moreover, I’m planning to keep this new plot for building a hotel in the future.”

”Running a hotel?” Old Master Cheng suddenly understood and said, ”As long as you know what you’re doing, it’s fine.”

”Don’t worry, I have plans. There’s still some money left from selling the land, and I intend to allocate a portion in the name of a charity fund to donate to the orphanage and welfare homes, what do you think?” Cheng Su asked him.

Cheng Su had set up a charity organization for caring for abandoned children and orphans in Old Master Cheng’s name; he was aware of it and found her kind and grateful, appreciating it in his heart, so he said, ”The land is yours, the money is yours, do what you think is right. You give out so much; heaven will reward you accordingly.”

Cheng Su smiled, ”Then I’ll make the decisions myself.”

Old Master Cheng nodded, thinking about her special concern for orphans, recalling the child she sponsored, and asked, ”You seem to have a special affection for orphans. The child you are sponsoring, I’ve heard...”

He didn’t finish the sentence, but since Cheng Su had already told Yaozu about it, it meant that Old Master Cheng and the others would also know, so Cheng Su wasn’t surprised, also knowing what he wanted to ask.

But how should she explain it?

Old Master Cheng was different from Yaozu and others; she could feel that he genuinely cared for her as a daughter. Whether it was transferring his guilt and feelings for his sister to her, or whether she was a substitute, she knew his emotions were sincere.

Precisely because of this, she was unsure about how to explain.

Cheng Su pressed her lips slightly and said, ”Do you believe in past lives and reincarnation, Old Master?”

Old Master Cheng was taken aback, wondering what she meant by this.

”I had a very vivid dream. In my past life, I was an abandoned orphan, growing up in an orphanage. Life was extremely tough, relying solely on my struggles; that feeling of lack of love was really hard to bear. So, when I had the ability, I thought about helping these abandoned orphans, at least letting them feel that someone in this world loves them...”

As she spoke, her eyes glistened with tears, that sudden vulnerability moved Old Master Cheng.

A vivid dream?

He looked at Cheng Su for a long time before saying, ”As long as you believe it’s the right thing, go ahead and do it; the most important thing is to stay true to your own heart.”

Cheng Su smiled, nodding, turned her head slightly to wipe her eye corner, unaware of the thoughtful look in the old master’s eyes.
