Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1769: Chapter 1770: Fell Into a Nest of Blessings

The Cheng family was very lively, and Qi Xiaoqi was extremely excited. Especially now that he had learned to talk, even though it was just single or double words and rather indistinct, it still brought immense joy and delight to the adults. Everyone took turns calling him, each eager to hold him.

Except for Ying Xiaoya, who was pregnant, according to customs to avoid the child being stingy, she wasn’t allowed to hold him.

Qi Xiaoqi was showing off his talking and walking skills among the adults in the living room, while Cheng Su pulled Ying Xiaoya aside in the dining room to chat.

”How are you? Is the pregnancy going well? Are you throwing up a lot?” Cheng Su first sized up Ying Xiaoya before asking.

Ying Xiaoya’s complexion was glowing, perhaps because she was pregnant. Her face was rounder than before she got married, looking more lovable and full, clearly indicating she was living a very happy life.

She touched her lower abdomen with a look of contentment and shook her head, saying, ”Apart from getting nauseous and dry heaving a bit when I wake up, I haven’t been vomiting much. I’m eating well, sleeping well, don’t you see I’ve gained weight?”

”That good?” Cheng Su listened enviously, saying in a jealous tone, ”When I was pregnant with Qi Xiaoqi, it was really tough, I was vomiting so much it felt like my lungs would come out.”

”I find it strange too, but I haven’t had much morning sickness. They all say it’s because the baby is good, saying that it’s a daughter.” Ying Xiaoya said with a smile.

”You don’t like daughters?” Cheng Su asked tentatively.

”I do like them. Daughters are great. I can give her lots of beautiful clothes and dresses in the future, and dress her up like a princess.” Ying Xiaoya’s eyes sparkled.

Cheng Su squinted with a smile.

Married into the daughter-less Cheng family, Ying Xiaoya was simply in a blissful nest, with no pressure to have a son, which in wealthy families is almost unheard of.

”Has the family said anything about it? After all, in large families, sons are often considered better!” Cheng Su said.

”No, everyone says daughters are good too. Haven’t all those brothers had sons? My sister-in-law is very kind to me too, she retired and stays home, and every day she makes soup for me and invites me to stay over, saying it’s convenient for care.” Ying Xiaoya said, ”That’s why now Cheng Yaozu and I often live in the big house.”

”That’s also good, if there’s something you need, there are people to support you, just living the two of you, not knowing much, can be troublesome.” Cheng Su let out a real sigh of relief.

Ying Xiaoya also felt like she was really in a blissful nest, feeling very satisfied and cherished.

”Will your mom come over?” Cheng Su asked again.

”Mom just retired this year, so that coincides perfectly with next year when I give birth, she can come and take care of me during the postpartum month.” Ying Xiaoya replied, ”Currently, I haven’t let her come, after all, there are many people here, and at my parents’ house, there’s only my dad, if mom came over, dad would be too lonely alone.”

”That’s an unavoidable situation, next year, you can just live in both places.” Cheng Su said with a smile.

”Exactly, you’ll come over, it’ll be lively then!”

Cheng Su shared some pregnancy experiences with her and also talked about marital life, advising them to be cautious and not too casual. Ying Xiaoya’s face turned red, stammering, ”That’s what everyone says, my sister-in-law and the others say that too. They even said it in front of Cheng Yaozu, oh, it was so awkward for me.”

”It’s for your good and the baby’s good. You should count yourself lucky.” Cheng Su scolded teasingly.

Ying Xiaoya giggled, hugging her arm and acting spoiled.

Cheng Su watched her displaying a little daughter’s charming demeanor, feeling happy inside, as this was her good friend and now considered her sister-in-law. Seeing her happiness was truly wonderful.

After chatting for a while, the old master called Cheng Su over to talk.
