Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1771: Chapter 1772: Not Living in Fear

Cheng Su is not someone who doesn’t appreciate kindness. She knows that Old Master Cheng is worried about her and is giving her comfort and support, letting her know that even if there are bad people, she shouldn’t be afraid because we have our own people too.

Looking at Old Master Cheng’s earnest expression of protectiveness, Cheng Su’s heart was full and moved, her nose tingling with emotion. She moved over, hugged his arm, and rubbed her head on his shoulder.

Her way of acting spoiled startled Old Master Cheng, his heart melting like a puddle of water.

He’s already an old man with one foot in the grave, having lived most of his life. In the family, there are only boys, none like Cheng Su, a girl acting spoiled with him.

That’s why some men need a daughter, because she can instantly soften one’s cold and hard heart. Fathers and daughters were lovers in their past lives, creating the bond in this life.

Alas, Old Master Cheng never had such a lover, so he only had sons, and his sons had sons, only having a goddaughter like Cheng Su to soften his heart.

In his memories, there were such girls acting spoiled with him, but after that one time, he never saw them again. Now, they’re probably in Heaven.

Old Master Cheng reached out and gently patted her head, laughing as he said, ”You’re already a mother, still acting spoiled!”

Cheng Su wiped the corner of her eye and, laughing, said, ”I’m your goddaughter, even if I’m a mother, why can’t I act spoiled?”

”You can, you can.” Her naturally justified expression amused Old Master Cheng, and he laughed heartily.

Cheng Su smiled, poured him another cup of hot tea, and said, ”Chiang Qing, oh, that woman, I haven’t seen her in a long time either. I only know about her from hearing Ning Ge and the others talk. During my time in Qing City, I never saw her. If I don’t see her, I won’t be annoyed or bothered. So it doesn’t matter where she shows up, as long as she doesn’t appear in front of me.”

Not seeing her means not having to think too much about the troublesome things between her and them.

Perhaps you could call this Cheng Su’s peaceful approach, but life has to be lived. What does it matter if people know about her? Should she live every day in anxiety like a startled bird? Why should she?

Life is her own, and Cheng Su doesn’t want it to become chaotic because of Chiang Qing. She doesn’t want to imagine things that haven’t even happened.

”That’s true, but still be careful when you go out. Some people are stubborn and unpredictable,” Old Master Cheng didn’t tell her about what Qi Taiguo entrusted or Cheng family’s actions.

A daughter, after all, has their protection, and she should live her life happily.

”Even though I don’t want you to worry about her, if anything happens, remember to tell the family, don’t hide it. It’s foolish not to use connections and backing out of pride,” Old Master Cheng said.

Cheng Su blinked: ”Understood!”

Old Master Cheng was amused by her and didn’t bring up the matter again. Anyway, he has a plan in mind, and he thinks Cheng Su is smart enough to know how to handle things.

The two of them changed the topic, talking about other things, including settling down in the future.

As for Cheng Su, she plans to get another loan, buy another piece of land, or sell the one Old Master Cheng gave her, and use the proceeds to buy, just that the money would go into a charity fund account before being taken for investment.

Whatever she plans, Old Master Cheng is supportive, only instructing her to discuss it with Cheng Yaozong.
