The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1447: Chapter 1447: The Quarles Family Finally Arrives

When she went in, she used the side door, avoiding the main entrance, directly dodging the possibility of encountering a group from the Zachmann Family.

Nathalie Quinlan had already been very low-key.

Yet, the aura on her was too strong.

Even though she tried her best to be low-key and didn’t want to get involved with the Zachmann Family, she was still seen from behind by Bernard Ingram when she went in.

”Is that Nathalie Quinlan?”

Today Bernard wore a red modified traditional jacket, with meticulously combed graying hair.

If she weren’t so harsh in her dealings every day, her features wouldn’t look so thin and unfriendly; at her age, she should be a blessed old lady.

”Nathalie Quinlan?”

”Over there.”

The person accompanying her to attend Caryn Zachmann’s recognition banquet from the Ingram Family was her son, a middle-aged man with a sallow, thin face who looked unwell.

The middle-aged man followed the direction in which her cane was pointing, glancing over, but he only saw a corner of a garment, not the person at all.

He withdrew his line of sight indifferently, pushing his mother, saying: ”I didn’t see anything, Mom, maybe you saw it wrong? The family from Room One probably won’t come for lunch today.”

”Didn’t you just see the person walking by?” Bernard wasn’t quite content, itching to follow and see if it was Nathalie Quinlan, but her legs were inconvenient: ”I reckon it was Nathalie Quinlan.”

The middle-aged man didn’t want to stir up trouble at such an occasion: ”Mom, let it go, don’t bother with it. Regardless, she has nothing to do with us, why concern yourself with these things, I’ll just push you back.”

”What do you know?”

Bernard was so furious at his unpromising words.

”Am I not looking after your son? The two in Room One are both not promising, in the future we can only cling tightly to Room Two. My brother is muddle-headed, but I can’t be as heedless.”

After several expressive eye-rolls, constrained by the occasion, she didn’t follow to see if the person who entered the Imperial Hotel was Nathalie Quinlan.

*

Approaching noon, the guests invited by the Zachmann Family arrived one after another.

The Quarles Family had also arrived.

This time, only two people came from the Quarles Family, one was Ellen Quarles, and the other was Lenny who came along with Ellen.

Hendrik Zachmann received the two of them.

Ellen also gave Caryn Zachmann a meeting gift.

The scene for a moment seemed very harmonious.

Everyone was chatting and laughing as they entered the banquet hall at the Imperial Hotel.

Only Lenny, who followed behind Ellen, had a cold expression all along, her beautiful oval face drawn long, with her mood visibly poor to anyone paying attention.

Especially upon seeing Ellen give the Quarles Family’s clan emblem as a gift to Caryn Zachmann, her eyes flashed with extreme dissatisfaction and anger.

However, Ellen paid her no heed.

Lenny didn’t dare to act up in front of her aunt either.

Feeling stifled, she quietly told Ellen after entering the banquet hall: ”Aunt, I’m going to the bathroom.”

Today, Ellen had her hair tied up in a bun, dressed in a shirt and suit, diminishing her innate flirtatious femininity, adding a touch of elegance.

She knew what was bothering Lenny, but in front of Celine Tucker’s family, she showed no indication of anomaly, giving Lenny a ’don’t cause trouble’ look, and smiling gently said, ”Okay, go ahead.”

Lenny wasn’t a fool.

On the contrary, she had always been one of the most highly regarded inheritors of the Quarles Family since childhood, consistently outstanding.

The only failure in her life was during the medical competition when she was trounced by Nathalie Quinlan, otherwise, it had always been her overshadowing others.

She definitely noticed the warning in her aunt’s gaze, making her even more perturbed.
