Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 485: Chapter 485: Vicious Mother-in-Law 31

Ma Xiangling looked aggrieved, ”Sister-in-law, how could I have any secret stash of money? All that pocket money got spent on things.”

Wang Yingying didn’t believe her, ”Little sister-in-law, at this critical juncture, you have to bring out all your secret money. I’ll try to figure out a way to get you some tickets. We must prepare a decent dowry for you, or else when you enter the Han Family, you’ll be ridiculed to death by your mother-in-law and two sisters-in-law.”

”Boo hoo, sister-in-law, I really don’t have money, boo hoo, what should I do, mother is so unfair, she doesn’t care about me as her daughter at all, boo hoo, she’s biased toward her crippled son everywhere. Why? They are all her own children. Why is she only partial to my eldest brother and not caring if I live or die? I’ve said, that I owe my eldest brother money and will definitely pay it back after I’m married, but mother firmly disagrees, boo hoo... If I really enter the Han Family with nothing, I’ll have no face to meet people.”

”Sister-in-law, you have always been so kind to me, please help me think of a way.”

”What can I think of? I can only help you get some defective goods.” Wang Yingying rubbed her face irritably, ”Little sister-in-law, why don’t you go ask your elder brother and sister-in-law to borrow money? Your elder brother just got demobilized. The department will certainly give him a big demobilization fee and disability compensation.”

Ma Xiangling covered her face and cried, ”Do you think I haven’t asked my elder brother and sister-in-law? I secretly asked them for a loan when mother went hunting in the mountains. The day after brother returned, he gave that money to mother. My brother and sister-in-law only had thirty yuan, which my brother earned by weaving bamboo products.”

Ma Xiangling looked at Wang Yingying with hope, ”Sister-in-law, can you lend me some money to get through this difficult time? I will definitely pay you back in the future. If you don’t trust me, I’ll write you an IOU.”

Wang Yingying pursed her lips unwillingly, ”I’d like to lend it to you, but I need to have it first, right? All these years, my third brother and I have lived frugally, but mother took it all away. For the past half year, our family of four has been living on thirty yuan a month. How could we save any money? I don’t have any money.”

Actually, with her and Ma Laosan’s skill in making money, she had saved more than three hundred yuan.

She made twenty or thirty yuan a month by secretly reselling defective goods. Ma Laoer would also buy defective goods from the wool spinning factory at internal prices to resell on the black market, earning the price difference, which added more than ten yuan a month in income.

In addition to some bonuses, she could save fifty yuan a month.

Especially after she had nothing, she was even more desperate to save money, doubling her resale of defective goods.

But she didn’t dare to do it too much, fearing being detected and suffering losses in the end.

Ma Xiangling cried, ”Sister-in-law, I beg you, now only you can help me, boo hoo... I’ve really reached a dead end, otherwise, I wouldn’t come to you. Sister-in-law, you don’t want to be looked down upon by the Han Family either. If I bring nothing as dowry to the Han Family, Han Conghui will also be angry with you and might even make life difficult for you.”

The name Director Han refers to Han Conghui.

Her sister-in-law’s face turned dark, ”Are you threatening me?”

”How would I dare, sister-in-law? I’m just telling the truth.” Ma Xiangling wiped away her tears and said, ”Sister-in-law, you are a smart person. You definitely wouldn’t make a mistake of losing the big for the small.”
