Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 463: Chapter 463: The Vicious Mother-in-Law 9

Hehe, this Ma Laosan, is the Ma family’s smartest, most calculating, and most unfilial son.

In a previous life, after the original character had a stroke and was paralyzed, it’s somewhat understandable that Ma Laoer didn’t take care of her, given that the original character did favor the third and fifth sons, neglecting the second.

But for Ma Laosan not to give money and help the original character, nor take care of her, that’s a loss of conscience, a traitor, cold-hearted and ruthless.

How well the original character treated the youngest son, always thinking of him with good things, treating him with wholehearted kindness, otherwise she wouldn’t have taken out her last bit of money to buy a house and furniture for Ma Laosan.

Yet in the end, Ma Laosan hoarded a large sum of money, unwilling to spend it on treating the original character. After the original character was sent to Ma Xiangdong’s home, when Ma Laosan visited during the New Year, he was always empty-handed; the original character never ate anything he bought.

Such a traitor, why keep him around without teaching him a lesson?

”Mom, the meal is ready.”

At this time, Wang Cui came knocking at the door.

Yuan Chun put the ledger back in the cabinet, went to the main room, and saw on the table a dish of stir-fried eggplant with chili peppers, a dish of stir-fried hollow vegetable stems with chili, and a small bowl of moldy tofu.

Sweet potato porridge with moldy tofu is a perfect match.

It’s worth mentioning that Qian Hongmei’s moldy tofu is very delicious, with licorice bits and white wine added, chili powder, fragrant and spicy.

The people here love spicy food.

They love to add chili peppers to any dish.

No joy without spice.

Yuan Chun knocked on the west front room’s door, ”Eldest daughter-in-law, come out and serve food for the eldest.”

”Okay, mom.”

Qian Hongmei responded and came out.

Yuan Chun said, ”The eldest’s injuries haven’t healed, he shouldn’t eat chili peppers. I forgot to tell the second daughter-in-law not to add chili peppers to the dishes. You go to the backyard and pick a few cucumbers and tomatoes, make a cucumber and scrambled eggs, mix sugar with tomatoes, tonight I’ll remind the second daughter-in-law to make a dish without chili peppers for the eldest to eat.”

It’s not that Yuan Chun doesn’t want Wang Cui to do it.

Wang Cui is greedy and sly. Let Wang Cui make cucumber scrambled eggs, and she would at least steal half of them.

For farm families, eggs are precious, Yuan Chun certainly wouldn’t let Wang Cui have the chance to steal and eat eggs.

The eggs in the house were all collected by the original character into her room. She went into the room, took two eggs for Qian Hongmei, and brought a pack of snacks to give to Daya and Erya.

Previously, eggs and snacks were all eaten by Ma Xiangling alone; even the original character herself couldn’t bear to eat them. Now, Ma Xiangling shouldn’t even think about eating eggs, not even the eggshell.

During meals, Ma Xiangling didn’t appear, and no one went to call her.

After dinner, Yuan Chun directed Wang Cui to wash the dishes. Wang Cui looked at the two sisters Daya and Erya, pursed her lips, daring to be angry but not to speak.

Yuan Chun said sternly, ”What are you looking at? Before it was the eldest daughter-in-law and her three daughters doing the chores. They’ve done it for more than ten years without complaints. Now it’s your turn, don’t expect Daya and Erya to help you. You have a daughter too, let your Sanya help you.”

”Mom, Sanya is only six years old, she’s so little, what can she do?”

Yuan Chun sneered, ”Daya at six would go to the mountains to gather pig grass, then come back to cook, wash clothes, and sweep the floor. Daya did everything at six, and back then, you never felt sorry for your niece being young and helping her out.”

Wang Cui was speechless.

Wang Cui is lazy, couldn’t find anyone else to order around, so she tugged Sanya into the kitchen, overseeing her wash dishes.

Daya and Erya were sent back to their room by Yuan Chun for a nap.

Southern people have the habit of taking afternoon naps during summer, the original character did too, but Yuan Chun didn’t want to waste time napping, she wore a straw hat, carried a large basket, and headed out.
