The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

All that remained was to wait for it to mature and complete the fusion and mutation experiment.

However, the preparations Wang Ya needed to make weren’t limited to just this. Fortunately, his Wizard’s plan was meticulous, allowing him to make full use of all his spare time.

He came to another room in the laboratory.

This room housed huge tanks filled with a green nutrient fluid. Sensing a living creature enter, the still-active Gundas’ Dogs pressed the fleshy facial features that had grown from the buds on their foreheads against the glass walls of their tanks.

Their fleshy eyeballs stared fixedly at Wang Ya. All the Gundas’ Dogs were doing the same, creating a deeply unsettling and bizarre sight.

If an ordinary person were to barge in here, even just standing at the door, their Spiritual Power would completely collapse under such a gaze, their mind shattering and reducing them to an imbecile.

Wang Ya’s brow furrowed. ’These experimental materials still haven’t learned their lesson.’

A cold sneer touched his lips. He singled out the most powerful Gundas’ Dog. It was unleashing the most intense Mental Shocks at him—attacks capable of causing spiritual contamination.

’So be it. You’re the one.’

He never held a grudge; he was a very benevolent man.

HSSSS!

Having undergone multiple transformations and been influenced by a portion of Dream Power, his Extraordinary Spiritual Power transformed into invisible waves that spread throughout the entire laboratory.

In an instant, blood dyed the green nutrient solution in tank after tank red.

Every single Gundas’ Dog suffered grievous injuries, but none were fatal. And with the nutrient solution being pumped in, they recovered quickly—all while enduring excruciating pain.

Those were their most vital flesh-and-blood tissues.

After losing their host bodies, the spiritual, illusory aspect of these Gundas’ Dogs grew increasingly faint, until they lost the last of their ability to think.

Only the most primitive, bestial instincts remained as physical flesh completely overwhelmed their illusory side.

The Balance was gone.

This was also part of the reason why Wang Ya was so eager to begin a new Gendas Flesh experiment and use Extraordinary Magical Plants for the fusion.

’Who knew if a complete loss of balance would cause these Gundas’ Dogs to break down, lose the ability to maintain their form, and dissolve into a chaotic mass of Gendas cells and flesh?’

Of course, this process of collapse was also worthy of research.

This laboratory was under 24-hour surveillance. Even if a collapse occurred and Wang Ya missed it, he could still watch and study the footage.

Wang Ya walked toward the only Gundas’ Dog that had not been suppressed by his Extraordinary Spiritual Power.

His expression was blank, his gaze cold and detached.

As it happened, this particular Gundas’ Dog was the one created from the ordinary girl, Ras.

Wang Ya sighed wistfully. ”Perhaps this is fate.”

”I will fuse you with a clone of the Blood-sucking King Vine.”

’Consider it a memento of my time in the Maya Kingdom,’ he thought.

Gazing at the girl’s vaguely familiar face, Wang Ya’s eyes filled with tenderness.

He was always gentle and nurturing with all his experimental materials...

Inside the tank, the Gundas’ Dog was seized by a bone-chilling terror, as if it sensed something absolutely dreadful was about to happen.

It feared Wang Ya, baring its fangs and brandishing its claws in a futile attempt to intimidate him. As he drew closer, it could only retreat, finally cowering in a corner of the tank.

CLANK!

On the experimental table, Wang Ya set down the Shadow Slayer Blade, his white gloves stained with blood. The physical structure of a Gendas was completely different from that of Extraordinary Creatures.

’It’s somewhat like a Dream Creature, or perhaps a mix of both. A jumble of all sorts of things thrown together. You could call it a chimera—it resembles nothing in particular, yet has a bit of everything.’

Wang Ya sliced off the Gundas’ Dog’s entire head.

Ras’s face was twisted in terror, a stark contrast to Wang Ya’s smile of anticipation, which held even a hint of excitement.

’The head should be where the Balance is most stable. Even if the rest breaks down, the head will be the last to go.’

’Severed from the body, it’s bound to last longer.’

Wang Ya suddenly froze. A flash of inspiration inexplicably struck him.

It was a textbook case of sudden inspiration.

’Since the head of a Gundas’ Dog is where the Balance is most stable...’

’...and it has the instinctive Trait of devouring...’

’...could I chop off the heads of all the Gundas’ Dogs, put them together, and let them devour one another?’

’The last head left would be the strongest. After devouring the other heads, would it also absorb all their residual fragments of Spirit and will?’

’Which one would take control?’

’Or would it just descend into chaos?’

’What would be the outcome?’

Wang Ya felt he had grasped the most crucial point of the Dream Infinite Genome.

It was also the most critical point on the Dream Wizard Path.

A portable medium for the Dream Gap, unrestricted by any environment or world... Perhaps Harak, as the Dream Infinite Genome, could achieve this.

The key lay in the mutual devouring among the Gundas’ Dogs.

With so many fragments of will, which one would become dominant? That question was critical!

If he could figure this out, Wang Ya might be able to conduct targeted Wizard Experiments to modify Harak’s Infinite Core.

He could make it contain countless souls and fragments of consciousness, turning it into a mobile corner of the Dream Realm.

As a Dream Wizard, Wang Ya’s combat strength could be enhanced by this corner of the Dream Realm, this Dream Gap.

The stronger this corner of the Dream Realm and the more stable the gap, the more potent the Dream Power it would grant him.

In other words, the more souls and fragments of consciousness this modified Infinite Core contained and devoured, the stronger Wang Ya would become.

The clarity in Wang Ya’s eyes grew more and more intense.

’Yes!’

’That’s it... The path forward was now perfectly clear.’

He had never imagined that the solution to a problem that had plagued him for so long—the future of the Dream Wizard path and Harak’s next evolution, for which he had no leads—would be found here, with this small Gundas’ Dog, during the preparations to fuse it with plant-based flesh.

A fanatical, almost pathological smile spread across Wang Ya’s face as he lifted the Shadow Slayer Blade, which had been transformed into a longsword via an infusion of Particle Energy.

Dragging the blade behind him, he stalked toward the laboratory housing the Gundas’ Dogs.

Once the path is found, all obstacles disappear.
