The Wizard's Pursuit of Truth

He felt like he’d just been caught red-handed.

Wang Ya gave a wry smile. ”It tastes pretty good, and it’s exceptionally effective at increasing one’s Spiritual Power.”

His answer was remarkably honest.

The Illusory Dream Wizard sneered. ”You’ve eaten at least two hundred thousand Magic Stones’ worth of my stuff. Just that handful of Golden Ant Rice in your hand is worth around thirty thousand Magic Stones, and it’s often priceless.”

Wang Ya’s heart ached—a special kind of ache, as if he had just watched an ocean of Magic Stones wash past without managing to grab a single one.

His pupils contracted. He was genuinely shocked by the value of the Golden Ant Rice.

’By that calculation, wouldn’t a single pound of Golden Ant Rice be worth over ten thousand Magic Stones?’

The Golden Ant Rice was also extremely heavy, completely unlike ordinary mortal crops. A single stalk weighed between a tenth and three-tenths of a pound.

’Which means about four stalks make up a pound... He couldn’t even remember how many stalks he’d eaten in the Illusory Dream Garden.’

’No wonder my Spiritual Power increased so rapidly, shooting straight up to 25.’

’What I ate wasn’t Golden Ant Rice; it was piles and piles of Magic Stones!’

The Illusory Dream Wizard spoke. ”Alright, I never said you couldn’t eat it. Eat as much as your ability allows. The fact that you could bring the Golden Ant Rice out at all is a testament to your own skill and Ability.”

”Come with me to Heart Dream Lake. I want to see your Wizard Path as a Dream Wizard.”

”Yes, Teacher.” A smile appeared on Wang Ya’s face.

’It seems even Teacher Illusory Dream is curious about the principles behind my Witchcraft.’

He was quite confident in them. This series of Dream Witchcraft had been developed and created based on theories from his past life.

They had evolved from concepts like the Dream Realm, consciousness, illusions, and mirages.

Even in their imperfect state, they had been enough to defeat a Level 3 Wizard Apprentice in combat.

This proved that the Dream Witchcraft School he was developing had vast and powerful prospects.

This was a height that not even the Flame Demon Witchcraft School could reach.

”These Witchcraft of yours... they seem to be progressive. Three Low-tier Witchcraft build up to a single Middle-tier Witchcraft.”

At Heart Dream Lake, the Illusory Dream Wizard’s expression was quite something after watching Wang Ya’s Witchcraft demonstration. In the end, he decided against praising him out loud.

He didn’t want the kid to get a big head and stop diligently studying the Wizard Path of a Dream Wizard just because his Ability was outstanding.

The Illusory Dream Wizard discovered something else and said with some surprise, ”Judging from the Witchcraft Transformations you demonstrated, it seems there’s more to it. You must have another Middle-tier Witchcraft.”

”The principles are peculiar. They seem related to dreams, yet not entirely so. It’s a mix of many things: Spiritual Power, physical matter, the Conscious Dream Realm...”

’This disciple of mine... his ambition is even greater than I anticipated.’

Wang Ya smiled and said, ”As expected of you, Teacher. You’re completely right.”

Beneath the Illusion Illusory Dream Wizard Mask, a smile formed. ’This kid is still hiding a lot. He definitely didn’t tell the whole truth.’

’I can also see that the potential of this series of Witchcraft isn’t much weaker than my own Inheritance Witchcraft.’

’It all depends on how he develops and creates them moving forward. After Middle-tier Witchcraft comes High-tier Witchcraft, which is far more difficult and requires mastery of various kinds of High-tier Extraordinary Knowledge.’

The Illusory Dream Wizard was very pleased by this. For a student to surpass their master is something every teacher wishes to see.

’At this rate, this Wang Ya’s potential is greater than Kelan’s. He has a much better chance of advancing to become an Official Wizard.’

”I will be gone for three months. For now, you will have to rely on yourself to study the Wizard Path of a Dream Wizard. If you have any questions, wait three months and then come find me.”

the Illusory Dream Wizard told Wang Ya.

”Understood, Teacher.” Wang Ya didn’t ask what the Illusory Dream Wizard was planning to do.

After a slight bow, he used the teleportation function to return to the Third Layer of the Illusory Dream Tower.

He still had a lot of work to do.

...

Half a month slowly passed, and Wang Ya remained immersed in completing and perfecting his Dream Witchcraft. The Eye of Truth continued to analyze the shortcomings of the Dream-Recalling Meditation Method and the Flame Demon Witchcraft School.

The progress was within his expectations, slow but steady. However, in another area of his experimental research, Wang Ya ran into difficulties. His State continued to decline, to the point where he sometimes couldn’t even calm his mind enough to finish his research.

This concerned the completion and perfection of his two Middle-tier Witchcraft: *Dream Bubble* and *Dream Shadow Replacement*.

During his battle with Hades, Wang Ya had identified their weaknesses. They consumed too much Dream Power, and planting a Dream Seed without the enemy discovering it was a major challenge.

That was to say nothing of planting the Dream Seed on an enemy, then using the causal link between the seeds to transfer the Witchcraft damage sustained by his Dream Body onto that enemy.

A normal Wizard would never let Wang Ya get close. Hades was, after all, a special case—a unique example that didn’t represent the norm.

The problem Wang Ya had to consider and solve was one of adaptability.

Combat was fast-paced and ever-changing. If the process for a Witchcraft to achieve its effect was too complex, it meant more variables and a higher chance of something going wrong.

’Could I make the Dream Body undergo a further Transformation,’ Wang Ya wondered, ’allowing it to switch between the illusory and the real, making it immune to Witchcraft Attacks?’

’But Witchcraft comes from the combination of Particle Energy and Extraordinary Spiritual Power. That should be impossible.’

’Extraordinary Spiritual Power can affect the Dream Realm, and the Dream Body is no exception.’
