Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

A colony in the Prosperous Star Realm, even in this era, has at least a population of over a billion.

Can a hundred thousand really survive?

Or even... a thousand?

Even counting those Psychics who arrived and evacuated the Planet safely, can there really be that many?

It seems no one cares about this point.

Chen Ming looked up at the sky, barely seeing the traces of the Fifth Legion’s fleet outside the atmosphere.

They didn’t perform any rescue actions, nor did they try to eliminate the dimensional infection.

They just positioned their fleet and watched.

Death seemed to be just a number.

Chen Ming remembered when the president proactively told him about this matter, the president’s attitude was the same.

Even though the president was usually willing to protect civilians, when he talked about the estimated death toll, Chen Ming couldn’t hear any emotional fluctuation in his tone.

Even Chen Ming, who always respected civilians, felt nothing in his heart when deducing from the environmental information that the entire planet had fallen, and the number of survivors might be one in a million.

After all, it’s just a string of numbers; how could one feel anything?

But once you take the time to understand the actual situation on the planet, know that countless vibrant lives and harmonious families have vanished, naturally, the heart feels heavy.

For example, before entering the Earth Core Melting Furnace Power Tower, Chen Ming encountered that middle-aged woman.

The bag in her hand, possibly the relief supplies she claimed from near the material warehouse after the industrial area of Yunluo Star ceased operations, was meant for making dinner for her husband and children.

But now...

Only a void remains.

Chen Ming sighed, shaking his head.

He prepared to find an opportunity to leave the Planet, lest he be attacked by those flesh monsters.

His Spiritual Power state wasn’t good, and the best way to evacuate the Planet was to directly steal a spaceship for convenience.

Although Chen Ming, through the atmosphere, saw that the Fifth Legion’s fleet had already sealed off the Planet, clearly preparing to check Psychics leaving the Planet during the final moments.

But once in space, he had various methods to escape.

And surely, someone would prevent him from being caught by the Fifth Legion.

While Chen Ming scanned the surroundings for a suitable spaceship,

he suddenly heard a strange sound.

Chen Ming immediately turned his head.

His eyes instantly widened, and his pupils instinctively shrank.

Because he saw the bag.

The bag carried away by the middle-aged woman was now hanging on the flesh monster that had just made noise.

This monster was the person he had just seen.

She was dead, and after dying, transformed into that kind of monster.

Chen Ming’s face darkened as he lowered his head; he truly couldn’t bear to witness this.

A small group of plasma suddenly flew from his fingertips, completely annihilating the flesh monster.

At least this way, her body wouldn’t continue to suffer in this world.

But as the plasma dissipated,

the bag hanging on the protruding flesh tentacle wasn’t destroyed together, instead, it fell to the ground.

The food inside scattered all over the place.

Among the raw meat, slightly growing some flesh tentacles, Chen Ming saw a small gift box.

A piece of paper stuck on the gift box was blown away by the wind and fell in front of Chen Ming.

There was a line of words written on the paper.

”Mom’s gift for the twelfth birthday (surely better than Dad’s)”

Chen Ming’s actions froze at once.

He took a deep breath, took two steps forward, and picked up the gift box.

Upon opening it, a delicate little spaceship model lay quietly within the box.

This is a Torrent Level spaceship model.

It was clearly not relief supplies.

But something the family had long prepared,

On the child’s birthday at home, using the excuse of going out to get relief supplies to wrap the gift and prepare to bring it back home.

The mother no longer could bring the gift back home to give to her child, and the child couldn’t wait for the mother who never returned.

Chen Ming stared expressionlessly at the spaceship model in his hand for a long time, then put it back into the box and placed the box into his backpack.

He closed his eyes.

Minutes later, a ring of plasma swept out from him, completely turning everything left in the industrial area into dust.

Let these be buried here.

Chen Ming opened his eyes again, looking into the distance.

This planet has more than just one place where people live.

There are more places, with more similar events happening.

Chen Ming personally witnessed the world eroded by dimensional infection, personally saw the consequences brought by dimensional infection.

This is the terror of dimensional infection.

Chen Ming slightly immersed himself in the consciousness space.

The breath of the Crimson Dimension continued to convey to him power from the Dimension,

This power is truly heavy.

Minutes passed again.

Chen Ming calmed his mind, controlled An Wuping to enter the insectification state, flying a distance away from the industrial area.

Spaceships near the industrial area were all mostly wiped out; flesh monsters had already destroyed them.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have used plasma to scour the ground without concern for the spaceships.

So next, he’d head to the nearest Space Airport, where there might still be spaceships left.
