Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Polar mountain barriersThree full days later, Lin Feng arrived at the designated location, during which the griffon also replenished its stamina twice at griffon relay stations along the way.

Lin Feng also missed three floors; although the rewards on these three floors were decent, they were dispensable for Lin Feng.

After jumping off the griffon, Lin Feng pulled out a large chunk of dragon meat from his System Space.

”Open wide!”

The griffon immediately opened its mouth, staring eagerly at the meat in Lin Feng’s hand. Ever since it ate the dinosaur meat Lin Feng gave it last time, this griffon couldn’t forget it after returning. After all, it was the first time it had eaten dinosaur meat, so it was normal to have expectations for such a novel taste.

After feeding, Lin Feng watched the griffon leave. He was now fifty kilometers away from the Polar Mountain Range.

This location was the furthest the griffon relay station allowed access.

Fifty kilometers; Lin Feng would cover that distance in less than half an hour.

As the temperature dropped lower and lower, Lin Feng also reached his destination.

He just didn’t know where Kuze’s exploration team had climbed last time.

”Forget it, I’ll walk along this mountain range.”

Lin Feng sighed. The Polar Mountain Range, though called a mountain range, resembled an ice wall more.

Instead of believing it was a naturally formed mountain range, Lin Feng was more inclined to believe it was a manufactured barrier.

For the entire next day, Lin Feng walked along the mountain range.

However, he didn’t get any results.

Just as Lin Feng was about to continue walking, he suddenly stopped.

His gaze was fixed on the already unclear footprints.

”No way?”

He slowly lifted his foot, looked at the patterns on it, and found they were identical.

”Phew...”

Lin Feng let out a deep breath, then sat on the ground.

Fortunately, it hadn’t snowed these past few days; otherwise, he might have foolishly kept circling here.

He hadn’t expected to have walked in a circle for a whole day, even though he walked very fast, probably around sixty or seventy miles per hour.

But this mountain range was too small.

It was precisely because of this that Lin Feng became even more convinced of the extraordinary nature of this place.

Now it seemed he could only fly upwards.

Lin Feng sighed, then activated the 01 Type Armor’s flight function, preparing for takeoff.

Just as Lin Feng was about to fly, Big Black suddenly spoke, ”Sir, detection shows that the 01 Type Armor’s flight device has been damaged due to prolonged overload operation. To avoid accidents during flight, it is recommended that you repair the flight device first.”

”Broken?”

Lin Feng said in surprise, ”This product of high-tech civilization has such poor quality assurance?”

Oh, no, the original intention behind the invention of this armor didn’t seem to be for flying; it only had a short-distance flight function. Then, because Lin Feng installed the infinite energy sphere on the armor, it could achieve permanent flight, which made Lin Feng forget that this armor was originally a combat armor.

But it wasn’t a big problem; a few taps with the Universal Hammer would fix it.

After repairing the 01 Type Armor, Lin Feng officially set off.

Soon, the altitude reached four thousand meters.

At this point, familiar creatures appeared: the Guardian Flying Bats.

These creatures seemed to only appear once you entered a specific altitude.

And once they appeared, they were endless, impossible to completely eliminate.

Although this could bring Lin Feng countless gold coins, his goal today wasn’t to farm gold coins, but to find the entrance to Blue Star from the permanent floor.

He didn’t know how much time had passed, only remembering that the floor refreshed twice, and Lin Feng had only barely ascended to five thousand six hundred meters during that time.

At the same time, more and more flying bats harassed Lin Feng.

”Roar!!”

Suddenly, a loud roar came from deep within the clouds.

A massive creature was rapidly flying towards Lin Feng.

”Damn it! Even a giant dragon is joining the fun, huh!”

After clearly seeing the giant creature, Lin Feng immediately raised his laser rifle and fired. The Technology Rhinoceros Horn Bow’s energy had long been depleted, and the Charging Pistol’s attack frequency was too slow, so he had been using the laser rifle during this time.

Under the laser’s attack, wounds quickly appeared on the giant dragon’s body. It then turned in the air and decisively moved away from Lin Feng.

It displayed the word ’cowardice’ to its fullest.

”Sir, the external temperature has now dropped to minus one hundred and fifty degrees Celsius. It is recommended that you do not ascend further, as the 01 Type Armor may face a shutdown problem.”

”Damn it!”

Lin Feng glanced at the mountain range, which still stretched endlessly, feeling utterly disheartened.

His current altitude had already reached five thousand nine hundred meters.

The screen displaying the 01 Type Armor’s status bar also showed a yellow warning.

And the external temperature had dropped to minus one hundred and ninety degrees Celsius.

This temperature, which was completely impossible in nature, made Lin Feng even more certain of the mysterious nature of this place.

However, the 01 Type Armor was clearly no longer sufficient to support Lin Feng in continuing his flight.

”Sigh... It seems that relying on technological capabilities to cross this barrier is impossible.”

Although Lin Feng didn’t want to give up, the warning on the screen had already turned from yellow to light red, and Big Black had issued another warning.

Everything was telling Lin Feng that he couldn’t continue.

Lin Feng wasn’t one to be stubborn. Since he couldn’t go up now, he would do it another day.

Anyway, with the Grand Dao Qi Refining Art and the System’s Virtual Training Field, it shouldn’t take long for him to cultivate to the Nascent Soul Stage.

He estimated that by then, he would have a chance to cross this barrier, provided, of course, that this barrier could be crossed.

If there were some rules governing it, then there would be no way.

It was just that he had only just reached six thousand meters, and Lin Feng didn’t want to give up yet; after all, Mount Everest is 8844 meters high.

Seeing that the 01 Type Armor was about to give out, Lin Feng directly shut down its flight function.

He then fell in a free-fall posture.

This was faster; he would just reactivate the flight function when the altitude approached five hundred meters.

........

Soon, the altitude line on Lin Feng’s screen rapidly dropped to one thousand meters. Just as he was about to activate the flight function, the scene before him suddenly turned into an incredibly dazzling white light. Even the 01 Type Armor’s anti-glare function was useless; Lin Feng was directly blinded.

However, he immediately activated the flight function.

After all, with his current physique, he couldn’t guarantee survival if he fell from an altitude of nearly a thousand meters.

However, this sensation of falling did not stop and continued without interruption.

Lin Feng tried to open his eyes several times along the way, but each time he was forced to close them again by the dazzling flash.

This sensation of falling lasted for about ten minutes, finally slowly stopping, but the expected pain of impact did not come.

Lin Feng tried to open his eyes again.
