Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 180 -169: Systemic Annihilation! The Destruction of the Cyan Profound Sect

RUMBLE—

Thirty miles outside the Cyan Profound Sect, the purple Fungal Mat spread out. Three Mountain-Splitting Thunder Beasts stepped out with heavy treads, unleashing earth-shattering roars.

Clad in thick, earthy-yellow Crystal Armor, they resembled three moving hills. Their four thirty-meter-long, ferocious fangs hung low as they charged toward the Cyan Profound Sect with unstoppable momentum. Behind them, Rapid Insects, Poison Burst Insects, and cockroaches followed closely. Finally, a swarm of entirely fiery-red cockroaches crawled out. This was a variant of the cockroach unit that Qin Yu called the “Fire Roach.”

Their size was slightly larger than that of ordinary cockroaches. After mutating, they lost the ability to spew acid from their mouths, and even the pair of giant, two-meter-long Reaper’s Scythes on their backs had disappeared. This meant they had completely lost their melee combat capabilities.

Instead, their backs bulged, radiating a scorching heat that could be felt even from a great distance. As three thousand Fire Roaches crawled out, their backs split open, emitting a dark red glow as if molten lava flowed within.

BUZZ! BUZZ! BUZZ!

Led by one hundred Qi Sea Realm Fire Roaches, the backs of the three thousand Fire Roaches writhed violently before suddenly spewing out globs of searing liquid. Like burning meteorites, the liquid shot into the sky, crossing the thirty-mile distance to smash into the Wood Array.

SIZZLE! SIZZLE! SIZZLE!

A scorching sound echoed as the incredibly high-temperature liquid burned fiercely against the barrier of light. The liquid spewed by the one hundred Qi Sea Realm Fire Roaches, in particular, actually carried a hint of the Golden Crow Fire.

Under these flames, the light of the Grand Array enveloping the entire Cyan Profound Sect began to dissolve.

This special cockroach variant unit was created by combining the Three-legged Fire Crow bloodline with the Erosion Essence Saliva Gu—a specific Gu Insect from the *Ten Thousand Poison Gu Refining Scripture* designed to breach Primordial Qi defenses. This gave the liquid spewed by the Fire Roaches an astonishing restraining effect on Array defenses, especially Wood Attribute Defense Arrays like the Wood Array. Furthermore, their firing range reached up to fifty kilometers. Even attacking from thirty kilometers away, they could cover most of the Cyan Profound Sect.

Meanwhile, on the left and right flanks, behind the massive swarms of Rapid Insects and cockroaches, a cluster of over five thousand Thorn Snakes surged out. They quickly seized the high ground, rearing their upper bodies as their back muscles rippled. In the next second, elite Bone Spikes rained down like a torrential storm toward the panicked squads of Cyan Profound Sect disciples gathering on both sides of the mountain gate.

The sky was also blotted out.

When the Leviathan began to hover, three thousand Heaven-Burning Fire Crows flew toward the Cyan Profound Sect at top speed, escorted by Thunder Rocs and Four-winged Black Thorn Eagles. They then launched their attack from a hundred miles away!

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

The Solar Flares that had once been displayed in Bishui City appeared once again. Moreover, their might was even more terrifying than before! As the Fire Roaches’ corrosive solution caused minor damage to the Wood Array, the sky full of Flame Blade Insects flew over, with some even drilling straight into the gaps.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Incredibly intense flames surged, nearly engulfing the entire Cyan Profound Sect in a sea of fire, from the sky down to the sect’s interior.

It was a three-dimensional, all-out assault! The Insect Sea Tactic was displayed to its absolute fullest in this moment! This was a completely asymmetric slaughter! Did they really think the Insect Swarm relied solely on numbers to dominate the universe?

“Form Arrays! Engage the enemy!” Withered Bamboo Ancestor’s eyes nearly split open, his voice hoarse and laced with despair.

It was too fast! The successive waves of attacks surged forth like a relentless tide, giving him no chance to catch his breath. He could only watch helplessly as his disciples were melted by the corrosive liquid. Within those violent Solar Flares, countless more were reduced to charred husks.

At this moment, he felt profound regret. He regretted trying to be clever by dispatching elite disciples to infiltrate Cyan Peak County to control Qin Yu’s parents at a critical moment.

Through intelligence reports, he had noticed how much Qin Yu valued his family. This was a common flaw in most people. Romantic love, familial ties—there were simply too many worldly attachments they could not bear to part with. This was a fatal weakness! Only someone like him, who had lived for hundreds of years and watched all his friends and family die off, could possibly possess a truly tranquil Dao Heart.

Therefore, he had made backup plans. Yet, evidently, the men he sent had been discovered, utterly infuriating this rising genius.

If he hadn’t done so, if he had sincerely tried to build good relations with the Qin Family, could all of this have been avoided?

Unfortunately, there were no “ifs” in this world.

He could only roar desperately, mobilizing every ounce of Primordial Power in his body. He violently slammed the withered bamboo staff in his hand into the ground. It immediately took root and sprouted, as if coming to life. Spurred by his Primordial Qi, the vegetation growing at every Array node across the Cyan Profound Sect began to grow wildly!

Whether it was Cyan Pines or spirit bamboo—everything rapidly expanded and twisted at this moment. Their roots shattered through the bedrock, while their branches entangled like giant pythons, forming incredibly tough wooden barriers. They attempted to patch the gaps in the damaged Grand Array, allowing the Wood Array to unleash its might once more.

As a sect with a thousand years of history, the Cyan Profound Sect’s defenses had been enhanced time and time again. It was no longer protected by just a single Array, but rather a complex, composite Grand Array!

“All disciples, hear my command! Use the Green Wood Life Array as the core. Form defensive Arrays in groups of three! Elders and Guardians, follow me to hold off the enemy!” Withered Bamboo Ancestor’s voice rolled like thunder, reaching the ears of every surviving disciple.

He knew very well that he could never withstand this surging Insect Tide of tens of thousands on his own. Scattering and fleeing would only lead to certain death. The attack that had obliterated Cyan Wood Ancestor could strike again at any moment. Their only sliver of survival lay in relying on the sect’s thousand-year foundation, the earth vein’s Primordial Qi, and the residual power of the Arrays.

“Yes, sir!”

“Quickly get into Array positions!”

“Prepare to face the enemy!”

The Qi Sea Realm Elders, who had finally snapped back to their senses, bellowed commands.

Faced with the seemingly endless black Insect Tide surging from the ground and diving from the sky, many disciples had gone weak in the knees, unable to even hold their swords steady. Now, guided by their superiors, they gathered their wits and prepared to form the Arrays. Sects like the Cyan Profound Sect practiced Array formations periodically. Though the disciples weren’t intimately familiar with them, under the Elders’ guidance, they finally sprang into action.

However, this entire scene was clearly observed by the numerous scout units hidden within the sect.

Thirty miles away, the Fire Roaches’ second volley was already prepared. The Heaven-Burning Fire Crows’ chests split open, releasing skies full of Flame Blade Insects.

“A meaningless resistance.” Inside the Leviathan’s control room, Qin Yu watched the scene expressionlessly.

This was war! Not some typical magical duel between sects. He was the Dominator of the Insect Swarm! Was he supposed to draw his blade, charge to the frontlines, and use the Power of Dominator to fight enemies above his realm? Was he meant to fight until severely injured, only to barely defeat his foes in the end?

What a joke!

As the Dominator of the Insect Swarm, unless it was a critical moment, it would never be his turn to charge into the vanguard. At the very least, the Cyan Profound Sect before him didn’t have the qualifications to make him do so!

Having completed its second energy charge, the Leviathan opened its massive maw. Once again, a dazzling beam of light surged forth, its target none other than Withered Bamboo Ancestor.

The blinding white light traversed the Void once more. This time, Withered Bamboo Ancestor finally saw the direction the attack came from. But the very instant he saw it, the heaven-spanning white light blasted against the Array. It struck the exact spots that had been heavily bombarded by the Fire Roaches and Heaven-Burning Fire Crows—areas too riddled with holes to be repaired in time.

BOOM!

The dazzling light slammed viciously into the Array, triggering a violent explosion. The blinding radiance made it seem as if a second sun had appeared in the sky above the Cyan Profound Sect. Countless dense cracks spider-webbed across the already overwhelmed light screen formed by the Wood Array.

“Hold on!” Withered Bamboo Ancestor tossed his bamboo staff into the air. It radiated a cyan light, attempting to reinforce the Sect Protection Array to block the incoming white beam.

However, almost at the exact same moment the blinding light struck, the second wave of attacks from the three thousand Fire Roaches and the Heaven-Burning Fire Crows also arrived.

Faced with that purest, most tyrannical power, the Cyan Profound Sect’s Sect Protection Array held for less than a single breath before shattering completely. It wasn’t just a localized breach. The entire Array—including every Rune and Array Banner scattered inside and outside the sect—exceeded its absolute defensive limits and spontaneously disintegrated.

The residual might of the dazzling white light instantly slammed into Withered Bamboo Ancestor’s emaciated body.

SPLURT—!

Struck as if by a thunderbolt, Withered Bamboo Ancestor vomited a massive spray of blood. A look of sheer despair flashed in his eyes before the terrifying shockwave sent him crashing heavily into the ground, his fate unknown.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Only then did the charging Insect Swarm finally reach the sect.

The Mountain-Splitting Thunder Beasts crashed headfirst into the residual Array light screen at the mountain gate. Without the support of the Mountain Protection Array, this barrier was incredibly fragile. The three Mountain-Splitting Thunder Beasts lowered their heads simultaneously, driving their terrifying, mountain-cleaving fangs viciously into the screen!

BOOM!!! CRACK—!

The light screen shattered instantly. Along with it, the majestic sect gate archway that had stood for hundreds of years collapsed under the Thunder Beasts’ charge, sending rubble and splintered wood flying into the air.

A black torrent instantly engulfed the mountain gate.

Scattered counterattacks landed on the Mountain-Splitting Thunder Beasts’ bodies, but they couldn’t even scratch their exterior Rock Armor, let alone harm their actual bodies. The great army of the Insect Swarm—cockroaches, Thorn Snakes, Rapid Insects, and more—followed closely behind. As they sprinted, skies full of Bone Spikes and acid flew out like storm clouds, reaping the surviving disciples and Elders of the Cyan Profound Sect as easily as harvesting wheat.

From the very beginning, the battle was a completely one-sided massacre. The individual combat prowess of the Cyan Profound Sect disciples might not have been weak, but without their Arrays and with their sect ancestors fallen, they had been entirely terrified out of their wits. They couldn’t organize any effective resistance whatsoever.

And up to this point, the Leviathan had only unleashed two rounds of attacks.

“It’s over just like that?” Inside the Leviathan, Qin Tianfeng felt as if he were in a dream.

He had thought this would be a tragic and bitter slaughter, where the Insect Swarm would suffer heavy casualties and the Flood Dragon King and the Leviathan would be dragged into a grueling battle. However, starting from that initial strike from eight hundred miles away, the entire battlefield had not unfolded as he imagined at all.

Under the Insect Swarm’s successive bombardments, the Cyan Profound Sect—a power boasting three Primordial Mansion Realm experts—had been annihilated before they even laid eyes on Qin Yu.

When the Insect Swarm flooded into the Cyan Profound Sect like a tidal wave, the sect was already beyond salvation. It was impossible for them to stir up any more waves. Their so-called thousand-year foundation had been entirely useless.

“It’s over.”
