Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 160: Chapter 152: Defeating a Primordial Mansion Realm Expert! The Great Battle Subsides

”Fight to the bitter end?”

The Flood Dragon King, possessed by Qin Yu, sneered. It raised its dragon claw and swiped fiercely at the Su Family Ancestor. A violent clang of clashing metal erupted, sending the ancestor flying.

They were all here to snatch the Five Poison Sect’s inheritance, yet they spoke as if they had been terribly wronged. When the Blood Demon Sect sacrificed the entire city and the Insect Swarm shattered the Blood Sea Array, the Su family was the first to flee.

Except for a few weaker families, almost everyone else followed suit and ran. Not a single person stayed behind to fight the Blood Demon Sect. If they had stayed, with over a hundred combatants at the Qi Sea Realm, the pressure on the Insect Swarm facing the Bishui River Demon Fiends would have been greatly reduced. In the end, it was all for their own selfish interests.

The Su family had also taken great pains for the Five Poison Sect’s inheritance. Using their Insect Control and Gu Refining abilities, they had set up an ambush in this valley early on. Tens of thousands of various spider Demon Fiends lurked within. When they rushed into the valley, they used the terrain and Arrays to trap and kill many pursuers. It was just that they were ultimately cornered and couldn’t escape.

”A mere Demon Fiend dares to raise a hand against my Cyan Profound Sect? You overestimate yourself! Hand over the Inheritance Token at once, and I’ll spare your life!” the Cyan Profound Ancestor shouted sternly.

He tossed out the seemingly ordinary cyan Wooden Staff in his hand again. The moment the staff left his grasp, cyan light surged. Countless dense Runes surfaced on it as it grew against the wind, transforming into a lifelike cyan Wooden Dragon with flailing scales and claws. Carrying a majestic coercion, it bit toward the Flood Dragon King, whose figure had momentarily paused after repelling the Su Family Ancestor!

This strike was far more powerful than his previous attacks; he was clearly getting serious. The moment the Flood Dragon King and the Su Family Ancestor clashed, he had already confirmed that the Flood Dragon before him had just broken through to the Primordial Mansion Realm. Judging from its moves, it appeared extremely crude. It was nowhere near as powerful and elegant as the Bishui River Dragon King. It seemed more like a wild Flood Dragon that got lucky and broke through, perhaps even one nurtured by the Qin family.

”ROAR—”

Facing the incoming Wooden Dragon, the Flood Dragon King bellowed. Its dragon claws, wrapped in Wind and Thunder Power, fearlessly met the Wooden Dragon.

BOOM!

The claws and the Wooden Dragon collided, erupting with a muffled thud like rolling Thunder. The Wooden Dragon was shaken so hard its cyan light trembled wildly; it flew backward, reverting into a Wooden Staff that fell back into the Cyan Profound Ancestor’s hands. Meanwhile, several fine cracks appeared on the Flood Dragon King’s claws, oozing pale gold Dragon Blood. Its massive body swayed, and its aura fluctuated slightly.

”As expected, just a beast with nothing but brute strength!” the Cyan Profound Ancestor thought, feeling much more at ease as a cold sneer curled his lips.

Just as he had suspected, this Flood Dragon’s application of Law Insights was extremely crude. It only knew how to use brute force, completely lacking the precise manipulation of Laws and Divine Techniques expected of a Primordial Mansion Realm Dragon Race member. He wasn’t entirely wrong.

As the illegitimate child of the Bishui River Dragon King, the Flood Dragon King had indeed not received much guidance. Relying on its bloodline inheritance, its strength in the Qi Sea Realm was decent. After swallowing the Dragon Pearl and breaking through to the Primordial Mansion Realm, apart from its thick and tough hide, it truly lacked any powerful methods. However, what the Cyan Profound Ancestor failed to notice was that the more injured the Flood Dragon King became, the more the Peak of the Primordial Mansion Realm Dragon Pearl inside its body flowed with power. Not only did it rapidly heal its wounds, but a constant transformation was also taking place within it. Its Dragon Race bloodline was being activated little by little.

”Cyan Wood Old Ghost, both of us are heavily injured, and this beast is thick-skinned. How about we temporarily join forces to take it down first? We can discuss the inheritance afterward,” suggested the Su Family Ancestor. Having just been repelled, his aura was somewhat chaotic, and a treacherous light flashed in his eyes.

He and the Cyan Profound Ancestor had been fighting for a long time and were both heavily injured. Although the Flood Dragon that suddenly appeared was slightly weaker, if it decided to run, neither of them could stop it alone.

”Fine!”

The Cyan Profound Ancestor didn’t hesitate. He knew what the Su Family Ancestor was thinking. Moreover, the flying Insect Swarm not far away was rapidly diving toward them. Although they weren’t strong—mostly just Qi and Blood Realm or even Body Forging Realm Demon Fiends—there were simply too many. Once they got bogged down, the Five Poison Sect’s inheritance would slip from their grasp. Having reached a temporary agreement, the two Primordial Mansion Realm ancestors moved simultaneously!

The Cyan Profound Ancestor struck his Wooden Staff against the ground, scattering a large swath of seeds. In an instant, countless iron-tough cyan vines burst from the earth, weaving into a massive net that blotted out the sky. A portion of it protected the remaining members of the Cyan Profound Sect, while the rest enveloped the Flood Dragon King from all directions.

At the same time, the Su Family Ancestor let out a sinister laugh. A Five-Colored Poisonous Fog permeated around him. Taking a deep breath, he suddenly spat forward, ”Heavenly Spider Secret Technique—Thousand Silk and Ten Thousand Poison Binding!”

SWISH SWISH SWISH!

Countless colorful, almost invisible toxic silk threads shot out from his sleeves. Quick as lightning, they entangled straight toward the Flood Dragon King.

This spider silk was intrinsically a Beta-level Treasure. Combined with the trapping Secret Technique of the Five Poison Sect’s Celestial Spider Lineage, anyone touched by its aura would be firmly bound and inflicted with a lethal poison! With the giant cyan vine net binding it from below and countless insidious spider threads attacking from above, it was clear that the two old monsters had seen through the Flood Dragon King’s weakness. In an instant, the Flood Dragon King fell into a crisis.

”ROAR—!”

The Flood Dragon King opened its massive jaws and spewed out a blast of Ice, freezing a large swath of vines, but the new ones grew even faster. The toxic threads were even more troublesome. Though they appeared thin and fragile, they were incredibly tough, weaving together into a large net intent on completely trapping the Flood Dragon King.

”Now!”

A sharp glint flashed in the Cyan Profound Ancestor’s eyes. The Wooden Staff transformed into cyan light again and bombarded forward. The Su Family Ancestor grinned maliciously as his Poison Sword turned into a dark ray, piercing toward another vital spot of the Flood Dragon King!

It was a critical moment!

In the sky, the rapidly diving Red Feather Demon King roared. The Runes on the bodies of the surrounding thirty-six Four-winged Black Thorn Eagles and thirty-six Thunder Rocs flashed with light, turning them into a single entity. They crashed directly toward the Wooden Staff thrown by the Cyan Profound Ancestor. From behind, all the flying units spewed out countless Gale Blade Insects, Thunder Blade Insects, and wildly growing thorns that erupted into violent explosions. The Thunder Rocs in the sky even banded together, spitting out lightning that converged in midair and struck down as multiple Thunderbolts.

The heavens and earth rumbled!

The Red Feather Demon King let out a shrill scream, coughing up blood as its feathers scattered. The Daoist Soldier Array trembled violently, and more than half of the Four-winged Black Thorn Eagles and Thunder Rocs instantly turned into a bloody mist. However, they managed to forcibly block the Cyan Wood Ancestor’s Wooden Staff.

Under the bombardment of tens of thousands of Blade Insects, the dense spider web was knocked backward and even sustained damage, while the thorns below turned scorched black and snapped. Although these Insect Swarm units had yet to undergo their transformation and were still in the Qi and Blood Realm, making them inadequate against top-tier foes, they excelled when facing large-scale attacks! Under the precise calculations of the Insect Nest, the Flood Dragon King didn’t need to worry at all.

Only the Su Family Ancestor remained! Like a highly venomous spider, he instantly appeared above the Flood Dragon King’s head, attempting to stab his Spider Spear into its body. However, what he met was the Flood Dragon King’s mocking gaze.

The Flood Dragon King opened its massive maw. A human-head-sized Dragon Pearl shot out, blasting toward the Su Family Ancestor with unparalleled coercion.

”A Dragon Pearl?” The Su Family Ancestor’s expression changed drastically. This was a desperate move for the Dragon Race!

The Dragon Pearl was the core of a Dragon Race member’s origin and Cultivation. If it were damaged, they would suffer foundational damage at best, or perish on the spot at worst! Although its power was incredibly potent when spat out, even the slightest scratch would leave indelible injuries.

The human-head-sized Dragon Pearl moved with extreme speed, seeming to tear through Space as it blasted straight at the Su Family Ancestor’s body. Wherever it passed, even the air let out wails from being crushed. In a panic, the Su Family Ancestor only had time to block horizontally with his Poison Sword while frantically channeling his Five-Colored Poisonous Fog to condense layer upon layer of Poison Shields before him.

CRACK! SPLAT!

The Poison Shields shattered instantly. The Dragon Pearl slammed into the longsword, and then, carrying an unstoppable force, blasted squarely into the Su Family Ancestor’s chest.

”Ah—!”

The Su Family Ancestor let out a miserable shriek. His chest caved in abruptly, and like he had been struck by a meteor, he was sent flying backward even faster than he had come.

Having succeeded in its strike, the Dragon Pearl circled once before flying back into the Flood Dragon King’s mouth, its light slightly dimmed. The Flood Dragon King’s massive frame swayed violently, as if it were suffering from the damaged Dragon Pearl, spewing blood wildly from its mouth. This momentary opening seemed like a godsend to the Cyan Wood Ancestor!

”Wicked beast! Die!”

A ruthless glint flashed in his eyes. His Wooden Staff erupted with unprecedentedly brilliant cyan light, condensing into a focused cyan beam. Like a Poison Dragon darting from its cave, it shot toward the Flood Dragon King’s reverse scale.

”ROAR—!”

In the sky, the heavily wounded Red Feather Demon King and a massive swarm of incoming flying units roared as they threw themselves in front of the Flood Dragon King, trying to block the Cyan Profound Ancestor’s strike with their flesh and blood.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The cyan light pierced through over a dozen flying units in rapid succession, turning them into a mist of blood, but it crashed toward the Flood Dragon King with undiminished momentum.

A hint of madness and resolve flashed in the Flood Dragon King’s vertical pupils. It forcibly twisted its body, shifting its vital reverse scale by a fraction, while the Dragon Pearl it had just retracted shot out once again. However, it wasn’t aimed at the cyan beam of light; instead, it hurtled wildly toward the Cyan Profound Ancestor.

SQUELCH!

The cyan beam viciously pierced into the side of the Flood Dragon King’s neck, tearing through a massive chunk of flesh and outright punching a hole ten feet wide straight through its body. The Flood Dragon King let out an agonized roar. Dragon Blood gushed out like a fountain, large patches of Dragon Scales shattered and fell off, and its aura plummeted at a visible rate!

Yet, that Dragon Pearl crashed toward the Cyan Profound Ancestor with unrivaled momentum.

”Hmph! Profound Origin Shield!” Watching the incoming Dragon Pearl from afar, the Cyan Profound Ancestor sneered. A Heavy Shield floated in front of him, its Secret Patterns glowing. It was just a newly broken-through Flood Dragon; so what if it risked everything with its Dragon Pearl? He was at the Middle Stage of the Primordial Mansion Realm!

That old ghost from the Su family had been too careless and was defeated in a single strike, but he wouldn’t be so stupid. He had been guarding against this move from the start. It had just broken through to the Primordial Mansion Realm, yet it had spat out its Dragon Pearl repeatedly and was heavily wounded by him. As long as he blocked this strike, the Flood Dragon would be a lamb waiting to be slaughtered. Not only would the Five Poison Sect’s inheritance belong to him, but the corpse of a Primordial Mansion Realm Dragon Race member was also an extremely precious treasure!

Under the Cyan Profound Ancestor’s greedy gaze, the Dragon Pearl slammed heavily into the Profound Origin Shield. An unstoppable force surged through, driving the shield straight into the ancestor’s body. The robes on him glowed, yet still shattered.

”URGH—!”

The Cyan Profound Ancestor spat out a mouthful of blood and flew backward, looking at the slightly cracked Dragon Pearl with a face as pale as paper.

”How is this possible?”

A sense of absurdity welled up in his heart. The power of this strike was already on par with the Late Stage of the Primordial Mansion Realm! How could a Flood Dragon that had just broken through unleash such force? However, the Flood Dragon King—whose Dragon Pearl was cracked—charged forward with a roar, looking as if nothing had happened, seemingly intent on thoroughly slaying the Cyan Profound Ancestor. Something wasn’t right!

Little did he know, the Dragon Pearl the Flood Dragon King spat out had belonged to the Bishui River Dragon King all along! A Dragon Pearl at the Peak of the Primordial Mansion Realm wasn’t something the Flood Dragon King could digest in a short time. After refining it, it simply used it as a weapon in battle. Although it had sustained slight damage, it had virtually no effect on the Flood Dragon King itself.

”Wicked beast... my Cyan Profound Sect will remember today’s grudge! In the future, I will obliterate your Qin family!”

Seeing the Flood Dragon King charging forward, the Cyan Wood Ancestor—already injured from battling the Su Family Ancestor and severely wounded by the Dragon Pearl—finally felt the urge to retreat. He cast a venomous glare at the Flood Dragon King and the Insect Race covering the mountains and plains. Daring not to linger any longer, he forced up a breath of Primordial Qi and transformed into a slightly staggering cyan Escape Light, fleeing toward the distant horizon without looking back. He didn’t even bother with the surviving Cyan Profound Sect disciples.

With the Cyan Profound Ancestor retreating, the dying Su Family Ancestor didn’t dare show his face either. He silently executed a Secret Technique, turning into an almost imperceptible wisp of toxic smoke and escaping in another direction.

”ROAR—”

The Flood Dragon King let out a bellow but did not pursue. The wound on its neck was still gushing blood. The Cyan Wood Ancestor’s strike had inflicted heavy injuries, and the Insect Swarm had just broken through, not having enough time to breed Qi Sea Realm Insect Race units.

”Obliterate my Qin family? You’re truly courting death!”
