Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 163: Chapter 155: Insect Swarm Expansion! Celestial Wind Ancestor Arrives

Expansion!

When the Insect Nest reached Tier Three, Qin Yu’s very first thought was expansion! The Insect Swarm needed a larger territory and more resources, otherwise it simply wouldn’t be able to sustain the numerous units nurtured by a Tier Three Insect Nest. Under his deliberate control, the swarm’s expansion rate hadn’t been too fast.

During this recent period, their main focus was digesting the territory within the Wilderness Mountain Range and completely covering it with the Fungal Mat. This was the foundation of the Insect Swarm. Once the Fungal Mat completely covered the tens of thousands of miles surrounding the Wilderness Mountain Range, it could continuously collect a massive amount of energy.

However, this would still be far from enough to sustain massive, resource-devouring beasts like the Thunder Beast, Tunneling Worm, and Leviathan! And it wasn’t just those three. Now that the Insect Nest had reached Tier Three, it could directly nurture regular units with Qi Sea Realm combat prowess, such as the Rapid Insect, Cockroach, and Profound Flood Dragon. The same applied to combat units modeled after the Mountain-Splitting Demon King and the Red Feather Demon King.

It was just that these units would likely struggle to keep up with the high-intensity battles the Insect Swarm would face against enemies in the Primordial Mansion Realm, or even the Myriad Phenomena Realm. The entire combat system of the Insect Swarm was about to undergo a massive transformation!

All the vital information about the Insect Swarm was laid out clearly before Qin Yu. After a massive battle, the swarm’s numbers hadn’t decreased; instead, they had grown even larger. Even though he hadn’t officially begun mass-producing Qi Sea Realm combat forces, their numbers were already approaching a hundred. This was the terrifying nature of the Insect Swarm.

But obviously, his energy and resources were insufficient!

After the massive energy consumption required to break through to Tier Three, the remaining 840,000 points weren’t even enough to nurture a single Leviathan, let alone form a Leviathan Fleet. A single Leviathan was just the beginning. Qin Yu certainly wouldn’t be satisfied with that; he would inevitably build massive Insect Swarm fleets with Leviathans at their core.

The ”Primordial Stone Energy Reserve” column was a new addition by Qin Yu. Nurturing Qi Sea Realm insects naturally required a vast amount of Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi. Although he could nurture them first and let them slowly absorb free energy from the environment to modify their own bodies, the efficiency of that method was undeniably poor. The few resources he currently possessed were obtained through purchases, which was clearly not enough to sustain the Insect Swarm’s demands.

”First, I need to optimize the Fungal Mat so it can directly devour Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi. Most of the vegetation in the Wilderness Mountain Range has already been assimilated by the Fungal Mat. If the vegetation across tens of thousands of miles all devours Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi at once, it will definitely amount to a significant figure. However, doing so might attract some unnecessary trouble,” Qin Yu pondered.

As he thought, the remaining energy in the Insect Swarm was being consumed at an astonishing rate. Under the supercomputing power of the Tier Three Insect Nest, the bloodline fusions for the Thunder Beast, Leviathan, and Tunneling Worm were well underway.

In less than half a day, the nurturing eggs for the Thunder Beast, Tunneling Worm, and Leviathan had already begun to form and expand rapidly. Although the Insect Swarm lacked sufficient resources at the moment, it didn’t stop Qin Yu from initiating the process. After all, nurturing a behemoth like a Leviathan couldn’t be done in a short time. According to the feedback from the Insect Nest, it would take around five days. During this period, the energy absorbed by the Fungal Mat would be enough to sustain the Leviathan’s development. Once successfully nurtured, the Leviathan could then devour Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi to optimize and modify some of its internal organs.

”The Nurturing Pool needs to be expanded further, at least to the thousand-meter scale. Relying on the Fungal Mat to transport energy to nurture the Leviathan is too inefficient.” Sensing the five-day incubation period, Qin Yu felt a bit helpless. Although the Leviathan’s body was incredibly massive, five days was still an exceptionally long time for the Insect Race. The root cause was the Fungal Mat’s poor resource transport efficiency. If the Nurturing Pool were large enough, this timeframe could be cut by at least half.

At this moment, the Insect Swarm located within the Wilderness Mountain Range made its move. Like wild beasts released from their cages, they surged toward further territories, wildly hunting down the Demon Fiends and wild beasts in the wilderness. They were unstoppable!

When the swarm charged over the mountains and plains, the ordinary Demon Fiends in the wilderness had absolutely no power to resist the insect hordes led by Qi Sea Realm units.

This world was vast. There were a total of forty-two cities similar to Bishui City throughout the entire Yunlong County, with a total population numbering in the hundreds of millions. It seemed like a large population, but Yunlong County spanned tens of thousands of kilometers—much larger than Earth from his previous life. Vast land with a sparse population was the norm. Areas like the Wilderness Mountain Range were completely unsuitable for human survival; they were entirely occupied either by Demon Fiends or by sects like the Cyan Profound Sect. As long as they possessed enough strength, there was plenty of territory in the wilderness for the Insect Swarm to expand into.

A portion of the swarm even began exploring toward the County City, acting as the bridgehead for the Insect Swarm. At the same time, they started probing the spheres of influence of the Cyan Profound Sect, the Su Family, and the Zhang Family.

The Su Family wanted to fight him to the bitter end!

The Cyan Profound Sect wanted to annihilate the Qin Family.

The Zhang Family was a generational blood enemy of the Qin Family, and their conflict had long been irreconcilable.

In that case, it was better to strike first. Qin Yu had no intention of leaving threats alive to breed future trouble.

After organizing everything properly, Qin Yu, who was at the Qin Residence in Bishui City, finally opened his eyes.

”I still need to find time to return to the base and analyze the ’Secret Patterns’ that attached to my body from the Heaven and Earth Phenomenon during my breakthrough. There is definitely a massive secret hidden within them,” Qin Yu murmured softly, glancing at the Heaven and Earth Divine Patterns concealed beneath his skin. He stood up and walked outside.

Throughout the day, while handling the affairs of the Insect Swarm, he had also been meditating and regulating his breathing to master the explosive surge of power following his breakthrough.

Meanwhile, outside the Qin Residence, a lean figure was respectfully welcomed inside by Qin Wenyuan, Qin Zhengyuan, and Qin Mohe. It was Celestial Wind Ancestor! He was the stabilizing pillar of the Qin Family, the very existence that had kept the family glorious for five hundred years.

The door to the quiet room was gently pushed open. Just as Qin Yu stepped into the corridor, he saw Elders Qin Wenyuan, Qin Zhengyuan, and Qin Mohe flanking a lean, gray-robed old man as they walked into the courtyard. The old man had snow-white hair and a thin, angular face, with clear, profound eyes. His aura was harmonious, seemingly unified with heaven and earth, though it was hard to conceal the heavy twilight of old age clinging to him.

This was the towering pillar of the Qin Family—Celestial Wind Ancestor, Qin Tianfeng.

”Ancestor!” Qin Yu stepped forward quickly and bowed respectfully. Although he had never seen the Qin Family’s Ancestor before, the only person Qin Wenyuan and the others would treat with such reverence could only be him.

Qin Tianfeng helped him up, his gaze carefully examining Qin Yu’s handsome face. When he sensed the faint Dao rhythm of the Innate Body and the profound Secret Patterns beneath his skin, an uncontrollable surge of pleasant surprise erupted in his eyes.

”Good! Excellent! A Heaven and Earth Phenomenon, an Innate Body... To think our Qin Family has produced such a promising son!”

As soon as he had heard the news about Qin Yu, he immediately crafted a life-saving artifact and had Qin Mohe bring it to him—a clear indication of how highly he valued him. Yet, he never expected that he had still underestimated Qin Yu.

With a cultivation at the Qi and Blood Realm, he forcefully killed a Late Stage Qi Sea Dragon Turtle, triggered a Heaven and Earth Phenomenon, and broke through to the Qi Sea Realm on the spot, gaining enough strength to rival the Primordial Mansion Realm! When he heard this news, he felt like he was dreaming and couldn’t believe it. The appearance of the Five Poison Sect’s inheritance had actually allowed the Qin Family to discover a peerless genius hidden in a remote area!

How could he not be thrilled? Heaven was not ready to let the Qin Family perish!

The group entered the main hall, and Qin Tianfeng took the seat of honor. His expression turned solemn. ”Yu, the news of your breakthrough has already spread, causing quite a stir. This is an opportunity, but it also carries risks. I traveled through the night first to act as your Dao Protector, and second, to discuss with you how to handle the current and future crises.”

”Please advise me, Ancestor,” Qin Yu replied earnestly. This was also the reason he ended his cultivation immediately upon sensing Qin Tianfeng’s arrival.

”The battle at the Bishui River had a massive impact. You did very well by breaking through during the fierce battle and forging a connection with the Demon Suppression Bureau. The Qin Family will definitely prosper because of you,” Qin Tianfeng began with praise, but then shifted the conversation. ”The family will do everything in its power to support you, but you must understand that our foundation is limited and will struggle to provide the Cultivation Techniques and resources you’ll need in the future. Otherwise, it would be a waste of your talent! You rejected General Li Xuanting’s invitation, and that was a good call. Given your talent, neither the Celestial Patrol Army nor the Li Family is a good choice. You can easily head to the State City, or even the Great Wei Royal Capital, to join one of the top-tier sects.”

Qin Yu nodded slightly. Although he had no intention of joining other factions at the moment, he didn’t argue. He had only obtained a portion of the Qin Family’s resources and inheritances; collecting all of them would be of great help to the Insect Swarm. As for everything else, that could be decided later. ℯℯ𝑙.

Qin Tianfeng continued, ”You can step out and fight for greater opportunities. Within the state, there are Major Sects overseen by True Monarch Primordial Spirits, and you could even consider those few top-tier sects in Great Wei that hold Immortal inheritances. With your aptitude, you will undoubtedly be highly valued. But before that...” His tone turned slightly cold. ”Some potential threats must be dealt with. The Zhang Family has a deep-seated grudge against our Qin Family. Furthermore, the Blood Demon Sect’s schemes in Bishui City were ruined by us, and they definitely won’t let it go.”

Qin Yu nodded slightly, but then shook his head. ”Ancestor, I’m afraid those aren’t our only enemies. My Insect Swarm also successfully seized the Five Poison Sect’s inheritance. The Cyan Profound Sect, the Su Family...”

Without hesitation, Qin Yu gave a brief rundown of the Flood Dragon King and the seizing of the Five Poison Sect’s inheritance.

”What?!”
