Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 178: Chapter 167: Leviathan! An Attack from 800 Miles Away

In Yunlong County City, inside the Qin Residence, Patriarch Qin Zhengyang’s face was filled with a bizarre, bewildered expression. If this message hadn’t been personally delivered by the Qin family’s ancestor, Qin Tianfeng, he never would have believed it.

”Declare war on the Cyan Profound Sect? Destroy their entire sect just because they coveted Qin Yu’s relatives? Has the ancestor gone mad?” he wondered.

He couldn’t be blamed for thinking this way. That was the Cyan Profound Sect! The very sect that had dominated Yunlong County with its awe-inspiring prestige for hundreds of years!

He could understand wanting to destroy the Zhang family. With a Primordial Mansion Realm Flood Dragon, a genius like Qin Yu, and tens of thousands of War Beasts, the Zhang family was absolutely no match for them.

But what was the meaning of attacking the Cyan Profound Sect? Furthermore, they were going to do it openly—notifying the enemy in advance, alerting all the local factions, and even informing the Demon Suppression Bureau. It was simply absurd!

After repeatedly confirming the news, Qin Zhengyang fell silent.

”Whatever. If we die, we die!”

With a heavy sigh, Qin Zhengyang summoned his servants to spread the word. He even directly kicked out the Cyan Profound Sect emissary who had been staying at the Qin Residence to build good relations.

Unsurprisingly, when the news broke, every faction in Yunlong County City, big and small, was in an uproar.

The Qin family had gone mad!

Upon hearing the news, the Zhang family ancestor threw his head back and roared with laughter. Mockery and jubilation echoed throughout their entire family. They even planned to dispatch men to assist the sect at the first opportunity.

The enemy of an enemy was a friend!

If the Qin family rose to power, the Zhang family would undoubtedly be the first to perish!

The other factions also made their moves. Some prepared to sit back and watch the show, while others plotted to secretly intervene.

...

At the Cyan Profound Sect, atop the main peak.

Three ancestors sat cross-legged, their gazes solemn.

The moment they received word of Qin Yu breaking through on the battlefield and triggering worldly anomalies, they immediately dispatched three elite squads to Cyan Peak County and the Wilderness Mountain Range to gather intelligence.

Yet, right after arriving at their destinations, all three squads lost contact.

These were elites led by Qi Sea Realm experts! Their leaders were top-tier combatants within the Qi Sea Realm. How could they have all just vanished?

Little did they know that the three Flying Ships had been marked the moment they took off from the Cyan Profound Sect.

They were ambushed the second they landed. Before they could even react, they were entirely wiped out.

Apart from a few heavily guarded areas, almost every corner of the Cyan Profound Sect was littered with the Insect Swarm’s spies.

”I refuse to believe that the Qin family can defend the entirety of the massive Wilderness Mountain Range! Send out more elite squads. The harder they try to hide, the more it proves that the Qin family is harboring a massive secret!” Elder Purple Cloud growled.

”Why don’t I go personally? I’ll take a squad of elite Cyan Divine Guards and scout the Wilderness Mountain Range myself! I’d like to see just what kind of inescapable net they’ve set up!”

”Junior Brother Purple Cloud, calm yourself,” Withered Bamboo Ancestor said slowly. ”Three squads lost contact simultaneously, without a single trace left behind... This is highly unusual. Even if they encountered a formidable foe, they should have had enough time to send out a distress signal. I’m afraid they were either ambushed or fell into a trap.”

”Exactly. Junior Brother Purple Cloud, you are a pillar of the sect. How can you risk yourself so easily?” Cyan Wood Ancestor chimed in, vehemently opposing the idea.

As they were speaking, Elder Purple Cloud suddenly took out a Sound Transmission Talisman.

It was a message from Yunlong County. His expression shifted, his face instantly turning dark.

”Arrogant!”

”The Qin family has publicly declared war on our Cyan Profound Sect in Yunlong County City. How dare they?” Cyan Wood Ancestor’s face also turned ugly.

”Could that boy be planning to use the Demon Suppression Bureau’s power against our sect?”

The Demon Suppression Bureau had an absolute reverse scale—no one was allowed to target the families of their members. Once discovered, it would result in total clan extermination!

”Have someone investigate! The Demon Suppression Bureau never interferes in the feuds between sects and families, but this boy is a special case! If the Bureau gets involved, we’ll be in massive trouble. Prepare to activate the Sect Protection Array. I fear a fierce battle is upon us,” Withered Bamboo Ancestor instructed.

”Our Cyan Profound Sect has a legacy of a thousand years! How could we be destroyed by some wet-behind-the-ears brat? No matter how highly the Demon Suppression Bureau values him, they wouldn’t go that far.”

...

A single piece of news plunged the entirety of Yunlong County into chaos. Meanwhile, the group inside the Leviathan was buzzing with excitement.

”Everyone, would you care to see the scenery outside? The great battle is about to begin,” Qin Yu said with a laugh.

They were currently inside the Leviathan’s control room. Encased within thick carapace and dense flesh, it was impossible to observe the outside world with the naked eye. However, as a Biological Battleship, it naturally possessed methods to let them see.

”How? Are we going outside?” Qin Hu asked curiously.

They were currently inside the body of the Mother of Ten Thousand Worms. If they wanted to see the outside situation, their only option would be to head outside—perhaps to its head or back. Initially, they had searched for Qin Yu on its head and back. Willingly stepping into the innards of a giant beast was truly an appalling concept for people of this world.

”Haha, of course not!” Qin Yu chuckled. ”Activate!”

WHOOSH!

Their surroundings abruptly transformed. The fleshy walls and organic seats gradually faded as if turning ethereal, revealing a hazy expanse of clouds and mist. It was similar to a virtual projection on Earth, but the effect was far superior.

Qin Hu, Ouyang Xue, Qin Wenyuan, and the others couldn’t help but look down. The ethereal floor beneath them vanished entirely, exposing the mountains and land blurring past below. They could see the thousands of Flying Insect Race members escorting them, as well as the endless mountain ranges stretching to the edge of their vision!

It was as though they were hovering right in the sky.

”How is this possible?” Ouyang Xue hugged the Profound Ice Fox tightly in her arms. She nervously stomped her foot on the floor. It still felt completely solid, yet to her eyes, there was nothing beneath her feet.

”Is it an Illusion Technique?” Qin Tianfeng asked curiously.

Having swept the area with his Divine Sense, he naturally knew their environment hadn’t actually changed. They were still inside the Leviathan’s control room. It was merely the surrounding flesh shimmering with a faint light to form this projection.

”Pretty much,” Qin Yu smiled and nodded. This did share a different approach with the same result as an Illusion Technique.

The mention of an Illusion Technique instantly helped everyone understand. Certain concepts had different names across different worlds, but their core principles were essentially the same.

”To think the Mother of Ten Thousand Worms’ speed could reach such an astonishing level.”

Qin Tianfeng wasn’t too surprised by the external simulation, but he was incomparably shocked by the Leviathan’s speed. A ten-kilometer radius around the Leviathan was shrouded in clouds and mist. Its radiating power carried a massive flock of Thunder Rocs and Four-winged Black Thorn Eagles along with it. Even its main body was coated in swarms of Heaven-Burning Fire Crows.

Yet despite carrying all this weight, its flight speed was not inferior to an ordinary Primordial Mansion Realm cultivator going all out. At this rate, they would reach the Cyan Profound Sect’s gates in half a day at most.

”This is nothing,” Qin Yu shook his head. This wasn’t even scratching the surface.

The Leviathan was the Insect Race’s Biological Battleship, capable of space travel. To break free from the gravitational pull of a planet like Earth and enter space, one needed to reach a speed of 11.2 kilometers per second—or at least thirty-three times the speed of sound.

And the Leviathan could effortlessly exceed that.

A Primordial Mansion Realm cultivator could only fly at three or four times the speed of sound. In terms of pure speed, even a Myriad Phenomena Realm expert couldn’t compare to the Leviathan. They weren’t even on the same level.

It was only flying this slowly to accommodate the Thunder Rocs and Four-winged Black Thorn Eagles.

Qin Yu’s casual remark left the group even more astounded. Such speed, combined with its colossal size and the loaded Insect Swarm, made it an absolute strategic weapon of mass destruction!

Half a day later.

The high-speed Leviathan gradually slowed down, causing everyone’s hearts to skip a beat.

Was the battle about to begin?

Even though Qin Yu was brimming with confidence, the reality of actually waging war against the Cyan Profound Sect made even Qin Tianfeng tense up.

However, they quickly noticed something was amiss. As it was the number one faction in Yunlong County, several of them had visited the sect before. After scanning their surroundings, Qin Tianfeng roughly estimated that they were still seven or eight hundred miles away from the Cyan Profound Sect.

”Right here is fine! Let’s show them the might of a Leviathan!” Qin Yu’s expression remained placid.

Hovering above the clouds, the Leviathan slowly opened its massive maw.

A deep hum resonated from the depths of its throat. Utilizing its compound eyes and the hidden Insect Race reconnaissance units within the Cyan Profound Sect, it locked onto the sect’s mountain gates eight hundred miles away.

Simultaneously, dense Energy rapidly condensed within the Leviathan’s mouth.

”What? Attacking from eight hundred miles away?”
