Ruling Martial World by Infinite Insect Swarms

Chapter 179 -168: Terrifying Explosion! The Insect Tide Erupts

Incomprehensible!

Even Celestial Wind Ancestor found it completely incomprehensible.

Although experts in the Primordial Mansion Realm could skillfully manipulate the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi and use Divine Thought to control Magical Treasures—unleashing power capable of destroying mountains and ruining cities—launching an attack from even ten miles away was a stretch!

Attacking a target eight hundred miles away? Not even a Myriad Phenomena Master could accomplish that.

Yet, through the exterior simulation, everyone from the Qin Family clearly saw a blinding white light ignite deep within the gaping maw of the ferocious dragon’s head. Soon after, its energy fluctuations grew increasingly terrifying.

“This is the Mother of Ten Thousand Worms’ talent!” Qin Yu, well-prepared for their reaction, smiled as he spoke.

As he spoke, the exterior virtual projection in the control room dimmed slightly. On the screen in front of it, the gates of the Cyan Profound Sect, eight hundred miles away, appeared.

The entire sect’s landscape was crystal clear, and right in its very center stood the Cyan Profound Sect’s Main Peak.

“A talent?” Celestial Wind Ancestor stared at the scene on the screen. The shock on his face gradually faded into a bitter smile. He seemed to finally understand where Qin Yu’s confidence came from.

Talents were innate abilities possessed by Demon Fiends since birth. Some powerful entities, such as the Dragon Race, even mastered top-tier talents like Call the Wind and Summon the Rain, or Wishful Size.

These powers defied all logic. According to legends, some formidable beings even possessed the overwhelming talent to manipulate time and space. An attack from eight hundred miles away, while absurd, made sense under these circumstances.

Meanwhile, within the Insect Swarm’s Mind Network, Qin Yu’s consciousness was deeply linked to the Leviathan’s onboard control system. The data streams transmitted by hundreds of Insect Race reconnaissance units stationed inside and outside the Cyan Profound Sect’s gates merged with the Insect Nest’s terrifying processing power, locking onto the target in an instant.

“Leviathan Main Cannon charging countdown: 30… 29… 28…”

A cold countdown echoed in the Mind Network.

The power of the Leviathan Main Cannon was astonishing, but it also had a flaw: it required time to charge. The longer it charged, the more devastating the blast. In a life-and-death battle with top experts, this would undoubtedly be a fatal weakness. However, from a safe distance of eight hundred miles, the Leviathan had plenty of time to slowly gather energy. The Cyan Profound Sect didn’t have the slightest capability to detect a Leviathan from eight hundred miles away.

“10… 9… 8…”

At the Cyan Profound Sect, on the Cyan Cloud Hall plaza.

It was morning. Hundreds of Inner and Outer Disciples were scattered across the plaza—some practicing Sword Formulas, some absorbing the morning light, and others listening to the Elders’ teachings.

The Mountain Protection Array, the Wood Array, formed a pale cyan energy barrier that rippled with a warm luster under the sunlight. Although they had received the Qin Family’s declaration of war in advance, the array was still running at low power, maintaining only a routine state of alert.

The energy consumption of such a Grand Array would be astronomical if it were operating at full power. Moreover, the array itself had a vast surveillance range. Any fluctuations in the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi within a three-hundred-mile radius would be detected instantly. There would be plenty of time to activate it at full power then.

Inside the Sect Assembly Hall at the peak of the Main Peak, Cyan Nether Peak, the three Ancestors exchanged hesitant, bewildered glances.

Having operated in Yunlong County for a thousand years, the Cyan Profound Sect had not aligned itself with the Demon Suppression Bureau, but some of its disciples had joined the Bureau to gain experience. A few of them even held high positions. After some investigation, it became clear that the Demon Suppression Bureau had absolutely no intention of making a move against the Cyan Profound Sect.

Even those within the Bureau were baffled by the situation.

“Has the Qin Family truly gone mad? Do they think their family and that Flood Dragon alone can annihilate our Cyan Profound Sect? Or do they have some hidden trump card?” Cyan Wood Ancestor pondered deeply.

He had fought that Flood Dragon before. If anyone asked just how strong it was, the answer was: not overwhelmingly so. At most, it relied on its talents and a formidable physical body comparable to the Middle Stage Primordial Mansion Realm. The only reason he had been injured was that he hadn’t expected it to possess two Dragon Pearls. And even then, he had managed to severely injure the Flood Dragon.

“Hmph, it’s nothing but an ignorant brat getting briefly carried away!” Elder Purple Cloud’s expression was dark.

“We must not be careless! Let’s see what tricks the Qin Family has up their sleeves. With the Sect Protection Array activated, even a Myriad Phenomena Realm expert wouldn’t be able to break through in a short time!” Withered Bamboo Ancestor maintained an indifferent expression, but inwardly, he felt relieved. His greatest fear was the Demon Suppression Bureau intervening. Since the Bureau had no intention of getting involved, they could just sit back and watch whatever tricks the Qin Family attempted.

“3… 2… 1! Charging complete!”

In the Leviathan’s control room, Qin Yu sat upon the throne of flesh and blood. His eyes were icy as he shouted in the Mind Network, “Fire!”

On the Leviathan’s massive, 1,200-meter-long body, the dragon maw gaped open. Violent energy rapidly gathered inside its mouth, ultimately forming a dazzling orb of light. Countless Secret Patterns lit up across its body, connecting and converging.

The ring of energy in its mouth grew stronger and stronger, faintly accompanied by the gathering of wind and thunder. Eventually, it coalesced into a sphere of light nearly a hundred meters in diameter.

At Qin Yu’s command.

SWISH!

The orb of light in the dragon’s maw instantly transformed into a beam a hundred meters thick. Following the trajectory calculated by the Leviathan, it blasted out in a split second!

At the Cyan Cloud Sect’s Main Peak, Cyan Nether Peak.

Inside the hall, the three Ancestors were still conversing.

Elder Purple Cloud’s expression was grim. “That boy Qin Yu cannot be spared. We must find an opportunity this time to execute him completely—”

SWISH!

The hundred-meter-thick beam of light instantly slammed into the Wood Array’s energy barrier. The terrifying power contained within the beam instantly shattered the array’s barrier and surged toward the hall on Cyan Nether Peak.

The hall shimmered with light.

The three Primordial Mansion Realm Ancestors widened their eyes the moment the array broke. Without any warning, a bloodcurdling, instinctive terror enveloped them. But the beam’s attack was too fast; they didn’t even have time to react.

At the speed of light—three hundred thousand kilometers per second—it vastly exceeded the reaction limits of the Primordial Mansion Realm.

BOOM—

The terrifying energy bombarded the Sect Assembly Hall. This hall was the very core of the Cyan Cloud Sect’s Sect Protection Array, the Wood Array, and its defensive capabilities were astonishingly strong. Yet, under this horrific beam of light, the shimmering hall was pierced through in an instant.

After its brilliance weakened slightly, the beam crashed directly into the three men inside. Only then did they seem to snap out of their daze, instinctively deploying various Secret Techniques to defend themselves.

But by then, it was obviously too late!

Enveloping them, the beam blasted through the granite-paved floor and the thick rock layers of the underground secret chambers, taking with it several crucial array nodes hidden deep below… every obstacle was reduced to nothingness before that pure destructive energy.

It wasn’t until the beam penetrated nearly a hundred fathoms underground that its terrifying, pent-up energy explosively detonated!

RUMBLE—!!!

A muffled boom that made the earth tremble, a horrifying shockwave caused by the violent tremor, and soaring clouds of dust and debris swept out in all directions! The entire Cyan Nether Peak shook violently as countless bottomless fissures split open across the mountain’s surface.

On the Cyan Cloud Hall plaza.

Dozens of disciples near the center of the explosion didn’t even have time to scream before they were crushed into pulp by flying rocks. Those further away were sent flying by the frantic shockwaves, their bones and sinews snapping. They crashed into the ruined walls, violently coughing up blood.

The pale cyan barrier of the Mountain Protection Array flickered violently, oscillating erratically as it let out overwhelmed, groaning whines.

A group of surviving Elders and disciples stared in mind-numbing horror at the sudden attack and the collapsing Main Peak, Cyan Nether Peak. Their eyes were filled with endless dread.

“Ahhh—!”

Screams and shrieks were completely drowned out by the thunderous roar of the collapsing mountain.

“Enemy attack!! Activate the Grand Array!!!” An Elder at the Peak of the Sea of Qi Realm flew out of his cave dwelling. His eyes nearly split open at the purgatory-like scene before him as he roared hoarsely.

But in the ensuing chaos, for a time, no one knew what to do.

BOOM—

Suddenly, from the already collapsed rubble of Cyan Nether Peak, a frail, bony figure with shredded clothes and a mangled, bloody body burst out, coughing up large mouthfuls of blood.

It was Withered Bamboo Ancestor!

His face was ashen. Staring at the terrifying crater where the Main Peak once stood, the completely vaporized Sect Assembly Hall, and the dead or dying disciples littering the plaza, a chill shot from the soles of his feet straight to the crown of his head. The moment that terrifying attack struck, his seemingly ordinary robes had automatically shielded him, buying him a single breath to react and barely escape with his life.

Cyan Wood Ancestor, however, had not been so lucky. Already heavily injured, he hadn’t had a shred of time to react before perishing on the spot, instantly annihilated the moment the dreadful beam enveloped him.

“Junior Brother Purple Cloud!”

He spat out another mouthful of blood as a blood-drenched figure crawled out from the earth beneath the collapsed peak. At the critical moment, Elder Purple Cloud had escaped underground, but he had still been caught in the terrifying explosion. The moment he clawed his way out, he retched, spewing black blood mixed with fragments of his internal organs.

Though he had narrowly survived, he had lost nearly all combat capability.

In just a single strike, out of the three Primordial Mansion Realm Elders, one was dead and another critically injured!

Withered Bamboo Ancestor suppressed the horror in his heart and barked, “Activate the array!”

He channeled boundless Primordial Power into the Bamboo Ruler in his hand. Light rippled outward as array Runes surfaced from all corners of the sect, and the once-dim pale cyan barrier abruptly flared with blinding light. As the Mountain Protection Array, even though its most vital nodes had been shattered, it still barely managed to maintain its operation.

However, its power had been reduced by more than half!

“Which cowardly rat is this! Skulking in the shadows—get out here right now!!” Withered Bamboo Ancestor manipulated the Sect Protection Array, frantically scanning the surrounding three hundred miles.

Aside from chaotic Primordial Qi and ruined landscapes, he couldn’t find a single trace of the attacker! That terrifying strike seemed to have fallen from outer space, leaving no trail to follow.

“How is this possible?” Inside the Leviathan’s control room, looking at the collapsed Cyan Cloud Sect’s Main Peak, cold sweat trickled down Qin Tianfeng’s forehead.

It was far too horrifying! The power of that single strike had absolutely reached the Myriad Phenomena Realm! And the attack speed was simply too fast! Caught completely off guard, even a Myriad Phenomena Realm expert would likely be injured, if not outright killed!

Withered Bamboo Ancestor hadn’t survived because he was strong enough. He had survived because the terrifying beam was first obstructed for a split second by the outer perimeter of the Wood Array, and then by the array protecting the Sect Assembly Hall, which bought him just enough time to react. Otherwise, he would have undoubtedly perished!

Although this strike had taken a full half a minute to charge, the Leviathan had launched the attack from eight hundred miles away! If it had been him in that hall, he would likely have died on the spot, just like Cyan Wood Ancestor.

“This is truly disappointing. We notified them in advance, yet they still didn’t put up the slightest defense.” Qin Yu shook his head. If the Wood Array had been running at full power, they might have been able to block this strike. But now, they didn’t have a single shred of a chance.

The Leviathan’s massive maw opened once more as energy began to converge.

At the exact same time, the Insect Swarm army—having long since ambushed the underground area near the Cyan Profound Sect’s gates via their tunnel networks—finally made their move!

Tens of miles outside the Cyan Profound Sect’s gates, at the rear and the flanks, the earth ruptured in three different locations simultaneously! Tunneling Worms over fifty meters in diameter let out earth-shattering roars as a black Insect Tide spewed outward!

“Flatten the Cyan Profound Sect! Leave no one alive!”
