“Okay!

No problem, Brother Huang, you just relax, I’ve got this covered,” Jia Zhenjing declared, thumping his chest.

He squinted his sly, twinkling eyes and stared hard at Lin Zifeng as if he had never seen a man before.

It made Lin Zifeng even wonder at one point whether this guy was gay?

“Hmm, you take good care of him for me.

If anything goes wrong, I’ll be coming to you first!” he said, and even shot Jia Zhenjing a meaningful look, his face sporting a mischievous smile as he glanced at Lin Zifeng.

“Kid, I don’t care who’s backing you or what your relationship with President Nangong is.

Here, you have to listen to me.

You need to sit tight and behave.

But if you dare cause any trouble in the company?

Humph!”

Huang Daming’s face was vicious, and his expression somewhat fierce as he squinted and sternly warned, “Don’t blame me, Huang Daming, for not being polite then!”

“Brother Huang, rest assured, I absolutely won’t do anything to harm the company’s interests.

I will definitely be a stellar security officer under your supervision!

Should any problems arise with the company in the future, I personally will not shirk my responsibilities and will step forward!”

Lin Zifeng, not the one to be shy, stood tall, thumping his chest with an earnest demeanor, his face all smiles as he assured Huang Daming, making him look like an active, optimistic good comrade to anyone who saw him.

He was the picture of a brown-noser, and everyone secretly praised the newcomer for knowing how to play the game.

But what they didn’t know was that Lin Zifeng had already calculated his moves.

“I hope you can satisfy me,” Huang Daming said gravely, patting Lin Zifeng’s chest, his face fierce as he whispered barely audibly, “Kid, I know you’ve got some connections, but don’t you throw a fit here, or you’ll die a gruesome death.”

“Thank you for the reminder, Captain Huang!”

Looking at Huang Daming’s detestable, disgusting face, Lin Zifeng’s smile gradually turned cold, replaced by an icy expression.

Especially those mysterious eyes of Lin Zifeng, which looked at Huang Daming with hints of pity and even amusement.

Instantly, Huang Daming could feel the peculiarity in Lin Zifeng’s gaze.

Having been an instructor in the army, Huang Daming was adept at reading people, especially as a veteran who had seen combat.

From the eerie aura emanating from Lin Zifeng, there emerged a sense that made Huang Daming subconsciously uncomfortable.

Of course, Huang Daming did not point it out; he just smiled, patted Lin Zifeng twice, and then turned and left.

“Clap, clap, clap!”

Less than a minute after Huang Daming left, someone immediately started clapping their hands in encouragement.

“Holy moly!

Brother, you’re doing quite well!

Even our security chief, comrade Huang Daming, looks at you differently.

It seems you’ve got depths that you’ve kept hidden, you even have a connection with President Nangong, the top beauty of Tianyu Group.

Who would’ve thought, brother?”

From the crowd, Jia Zhenjing stepped forward, his mouth wide with a grin as he clapped his hands.

“You flatter me, Brother Jia.

I’m nowhere near as skilled.

I’d be remarkable to be half as good as you,” Lin Zifeng said modestly.

“Your grandfather’s grandmother’s grandfather, you’ve got a way with words!

I like it.” Hearing Lin Zifeng praising him, the security team leader Jia Zhenjing grinned broadly, squinting his eyes in a repulsive manner.

“Come on!

Have a smoke, Brother Jia.” Lin Zifeng, knowing his place, pulled out cigarettes from his pocket and handed one to each person.

Within moments, their relationship had soared qualitatively.

It seems cigarettes were indeed very useful.

Jia Zhenjing didn’t stand on ceremony, taking the cigarette Lin Zifeng handed to him and looped his arm around Lin Zifeng’s shoulders, giving off the vibe that they were close buddies.

“Hurry up!

Make room for our new little brother here.

From now on, we’re all brothers.

If you need anything, just hit up your Brother Jia.

If I can handle it, I definitely won’t be vague about it.”

“Thank you, Brother Jia.”

As for relationships between people, Lin Zifeng wasn’t too fussy.

After all, everyone had it tough away from home, so why act like you’re the best in the world?

Do you think putting on airs will earn you respect or fondness?

Little did you know that everyone just saw you as a fool.

“Brother, what’s your name?

What year were you born?

Where are you from?

Looking at you, you don’t seem like you’re here to be a security guard.

To be honest, did you have your eye on some awkward situation in the company?

If that’s the case, no worries, just have a good talk with me, your brother.

I might be able to help.”

“Look at you, Brother Jia, what are you talking about?

How could a poor loser like me fancy anyone?

Even if I did, do I have the ability to get them?

Lin Zifeng quickly melded into the gang, exuding a laborer’s vibe through his speech: “I’m Lin Zifeng, 25 years old, from a poor and ugly family.

I’m here to scramble through some days working as a security guard.

From now on, all I need is for Brother Jia to look after me a bit.”

“Bro, you’re being too polite!

We’re all just trying to make a living here.

No need for all this talk of looking after each other, we’re brothers now!”

Lin Zifeng first distributed cigarettes to everyone, then mingled warmly.

With these unsophisticated security guards, he easily blended in.

The guys eagerly dragged Lin Zifeng to watch the latest film by Hodoyoshi Yui.

Lin Zifeng didn’t consider himself a saint, but he was still somewhat reluctant in this situation.

“Brother, I won’t say more.

It’s your first day here, so I’ll introduce you to the good stuff—these are my cherished treasures that I usually can’t bear to share.

But since you’re here, I’ve got to take them out for everyone to enjoy!

Tonight I’ll take you out to have fun.

I heard there are some new joints in town, the girls there are definitely top-notch!”

Jia Zhenjing, ever the good buddy, perked up immediately when women were mentioned, his eyebrows raised in delight.

Immediately, everyone began to make a ruckus, insisting on dragging Lin Zifeng to see the movie.

However, at Lin Zifeng’s strong request, they reluctantly agreed to refrain.

“Brother Jia, it’s my first time here, just take me to get the gear instead.

Otherwise, that jerk Huang might trouble me later.

We’ll have plenty of time later, right?”

“Since that’s the case!

I won’t force you.

Next time we can continue to enjoy,” Jia Zhenjing said, as he picked at his big nose, seemingly never able to finish digging out all the boogers.

Even the always composed Lin Zifeng felt a bit disgusted.

“Guys, you keep at it.

I’ll take our new brother Lin to get equipped first, and later we can enjoy together,” Jia Zhenjing announced.

Jia Zhenjing was quite generous, after notifying everyone, he looped his arm around Lin Zifeng’s shoulder and headed to the Tianyu Group’s warehouse.

To tell the truth, being embraced by this jerk, especially right after he had been picking his nose, made Lin Zifeng feel quite uncomfortable.

“Brother, just follow me from now on.

I have been in this group for fifteen years!

Whether it’s seniority, experience, or contributions, I am top-notch.

Even that Huang jerk has to bow down before me!

…”

All the way there, Jia Zhenjing couldn’t stop boasting to Lin Zifeng, showing off every time they passed a pretty girl just to act all high and mighty!

That was not surprising, given he had been at the company for so many years.

Whenever someone new came along, it was logical to bolster his authority in front of the newcomer.

Lin Zifeng was quite understanding of this…
