After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1350: Chapter 1354: What Are You Plotting

”Nothing at all!” Luo Xiaoqian supported his arm and looked at Jiao Yang, ”I just heard you two have been up here for a long time, so I came to see what you’re doing. What are you two conspiring about?”

”Nothing much, those cigars, I’m thinking of finding them a new owner!” Leng Zimo hugged her and walked into the room, helping her sit on a chair, ”I noticed you didn’t eat much, you must be hungry. There’s some mousse cake made this afternoon in the fridge, I’ll get you a piece. Keep him company for a bit.”

He stood up and turned to walk out of the study door.

”Are you two... okay?” Luo Xiaoqian raised her face to look at Jiao Yang by the window.

Seeing the smile lines at the corners of her lips, Jiao Yang just shrugged, ”Of course we are, what did you think, that we were dueling?”

Luo Xiaoqian got up from the sofa and walked to his side, ”Jiao Yang, could you... do me a favor?!”

Jiao Yang lifted the corners of his mouth, ”Of course, as long as it’s something I can do, what is it?”

”I want... to sell L&L. Besides Zimo, you’re the one who knows the most people in the entertainment industry. I hope you can help me find a good buyer. Money isn’t a problem, as long as the company continues to be managed well.”

”Why?” Jiao Yang was a bit puzzled.

Emperor View with such financial power, wouldn’t it be incredibly simple to just integrate L&L into it? A business she built from scratch, why sell it to someone else?!

Luo Xiaoqian bit her lip and looked at Jiao Yang apologetically, ”I’m really sorry to ask this favor of you, but I really can’t think of anyone else who can help me.”

”Why wouldn’t I?” Jiao Yang smiled in reassurance, ”I’m happy that you trust me like this, I’ll help recommend it to my friends, and actually Asia View is looking to expand its business right now. I’ll propose it at the board meeting.”

”Then I’m really grateful!” Luo Xiaoqian smiled appreciatively, ”Come to think of it, I really didn’t know you could play the guitar.”

”I learned it when I gave up classical music. Back then, because of practicing, my fingers cracked open. My mom saw my hands and thought I would never touch a piano again, cried for hours.”

”And then?”

”Then she gave in and went to buy me the best guitar.” Thinking of his accommodating mother, Jiao Yang wore a nostalgic expression, ”My mom is a very kind woman, just like you.”

”Is she doing well now?”

”Yeah, sometimes she still quietly puts on her dance shoes to sneak out dancing.”

”Really?”

Outside the door, Leng Zimo held a cake, leaning against the wall, pressing his fingers on his aching temple, trying hard to suppress the urge to push the door open and enter.

He was terribly jealous at the thought of her not remembering him in the future and being with Jiao Yang; it almost drove him mad.

But he knew he couldn’t!

He had looked up a lot of information and consulted many renowned doctors, even personally visited tumor hospitals... countless results, countless cases all proved that even after surgery, though he could save his life, the various sequelae would be a permanently excruciating existence.

Just like a moment ago, no one noticed, but he knew himself that he played two wrong notes.

Of course, such minor flaws can be almost negligible, but Leng Zimo knew he was wrong, and this is only the beginning. In the future, he might go blind, might develop all sorts of symptoms, and he couldn’t allow Luo Xiaoqian to face such a version of himself.

He had always been a severely exacting person, to himself as well. He couldn’t let an imperfect self give her an imperfect or potentially lifelong painful marriage.

Goodnight.
