After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1327: Chapter 1331: I Will Be So, So Gentle...

”It’s nothing, just had a nightmare earlier!” Leng Zimo pulled her into his embrace, holding her tightly. He raised one hand to rub his still throbbing temples, suppressing the headache, and gently laid her back on the pillow, ”Lie down for a while, I’ll go get you a glass of water.”

He got out of bed, threw on a robe, and smiled at her as he adjusted the thin quilt over Luo Xiaoqian. Then he headed downstairs to take a pill and drank it, finally pouring a cup of warm water to bring back to the room.

On the pillow, Luo Xiaoqian hadn’t gone back to sleep. She sat up to take the cup he handed her, drinking a sip of water before placing it on the cabinet. She leaned into his arms, ”What time is it?”

Leng Zimo glanced at the watch on the small cabinet, ”Just past five. It’s still early, why not sleep a little longer?”

”Is there something going on at the company lately?” Luo Xiaoqian asked from within his embrace.

These past few days, he hadn’t been sleeping well. The expression on Leng Zimo’s face when he looked at her earlier was too strange, making her a little worried.

Leng Zimo ran his fingers through her long hair, ”No, why do you ask?”

”You’ve been sleeping poorly these days, and you seem quite pale...” Luo Xiaoqian straightened up, cupping his face in her hands, ”Is everything really okay?”

So, she noticed too?!

”That’s because...” Leng Zimo smiled and leaned in, gently kissing her neck, ”I’ve been eating too much bland food lately.”

”I’m talking to you seriously!” Luo Xiaoqian pouted slightly.

”I am being serious.”

Raising her hand to tug at the robe’s belt, she gently reminded, ”The doctor said to take it easy.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll be very gentle, very gentle indeed...”

He lowered his head to kiss her lips once more.

...

...

Leng Zimo kept his word, unfailingly gentle.

Because of his gentleness, time seemed to stretch out longer.

After carrying her to the bathroom to wash up, Leng Zimo carefully laid her back on the pillow, ”What do you want to eat? I’ll make it for you.”

”No!” Luo Xiaoqian nestled in his arms, ”Just lie with me for a while.”

It’s not that she didn’t like his cooking; she just hoped he could rest a little more.

He had to manage things at Emperor View, handle matters at EM. To allow her to rest easily, Leng Zimo even went through the documents she was supposed to review and explained the important parts to her... She couldn’t help but worry about his health.

Leng Zimo hugged her body from behind, his large hand gently placed on her abdomen, ”How big is the baby now?”

”Around two to three centimeters.” Luo Xiaoqian raised his palm and measured on his pinky finger, ”About a knuckle of yours. The head takes up half the size, and the organs are already distinct.”

Leng Zimo looked at his finger, ”So small?”

Luo Xiaoqian smiled, holding his finger, ”Yes, by the time it’s three months, you can hear the heartbeat. The baby’s heartbeat is usually fast, about twice that of an adult’s...”

She quietly narrated the fetus’s growth as Leng Zimo listened silently behind her. To him, these were incredibly novel experiences.

Imagining planting a seed in her body that grows into a small life, imagining the baby’s gender, imagining whether the baby, her or he, would inherit more from Luo Jun’s genes or hers made an indescribable emotion arise naturally in his heart.
