After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1344: Chapter 1348: Purely Platonic Friendship

”Here we are!” The two immediately quickened their pace, running over to sit by the bonfire. Xu Xia handed over the two gifts she brought to Luo Jun and Qin Wanwan, greeting everyone and her eyes lit up when she saw Tong Ya. ”Teacher Tong, we haven’t met for a long time. Do you have any upcoming performances recently?!”

Back when she participated in Huaxia Idol, Tong Ya had trained Luo Xiaoqian and Xu Xia in dancing, and Xu Xia had always referred to Tong Ya as a teacher.

”She can’t perform right now, otherwise our Doctor Shen would be worried. What if she dances and hurts the little baby!” Huangfu Ruo teased.

”Teacher Tong is pregnant too?” Xu Xia was all surprised and delighted, ”When are you due?”

”It’s still early, just two months in!” Tong Ya laughed and made some space, pulling her to sit beside her, ”Right, Miss Xu, you were absent last time so I couldn’t give you an invitation. This time I’ll give you a verbal invite. How about next weekend, would you have time to be my bridesmaid?”

”No problem, even if I don’t have time, I’ll make it!” Xu Xia readily agreed.

Beyond their student-teacher relationship, over the years, as Xu Xia became a singer, Tong Ya had choreographed many dances for her, and their relationship was also very good.

”Doctor Shen is getting married, and Xiao Qian and Brother Zimo’s wedding is coming up too.” Huangfu Ruo nudged Leng Zirui’s arm ambiguously and gestured to Xu Xia with her chin, ”Brother Zirui, you should hurry up too!”

”Exactly!” Everyone joined in teasing.

Leng Zirui smiled, ”We are just pure friends, right, Xu Xia?”

”Ah...” Xu Xia glanced at him sideways and laughed too, ”Yes, we’re just good pals, don’t make stuff up!”

Shen Yizhou looked disdainful, ”They’re good pals and still ’pure friends’? Who would believe that, right?!”

”Enough, don’t say such things in front of the kids!” Leng Zimo put the roasted meat on a plate, ”Let’s eat!”

Qin Lan brought the plate over and placed it on the small table in front of everyone. Leng Zimo loaded another plate with roasted fish and served it to Leng Lin, ”Try this, it’s more tender.”

Having a relationship that drifted in and out over the years, at this point, Leng Zimo no longer wished to have a cold war with his father.

The maids brought over beer, red wine, and various fruit juices, and the nutritionist took over Leng Zimo’s place. A few people all picked up their glasses, drinking, eating, and chatting.

”Such a beautiful scene, with just food and drink but no performances—how can that be? You big stars should entertain us, shouldn’t you?!” Huangfu Ruo suggested with a smile.

”That’s a good suggestion!” Leng Zirui immediately agreed, ”Give us a live performance. Let us enjoy a VIP seat treatment.”

”If General Leng wants to listen, then naturally, Miss Xu should sing for us!” Luo Xiaoqian took a sip of the juice sent by Leng Zimo, ”Don’t you all agree?”

”Xu Xia, give us one!”

”Godmother, give us one!”

”Aunt Xu, give us one!”

...

Everyone, big and small, followed suit in coaxing.

”Alright, today I’ll give you a live performance.” Xu Xia put down her beer, ”Help me get a guitar!”

The servant agreed and ran off. Moments later, they returned with an acoustic guitar and handed it to Xu Xia.

Xu Xia took the guitar, gently strummed the strings, adjusted the tuning, and then looked at everyone, ”Ladies and gentlemen, listen carefully, the live performance at Xu Xia’s Farm is about to begin!”
