Medical Sage

Upon witnessing this scene, the expressions of the South Koreans turned ugly, as if they had just swallowed flies.

”You...” Song Jinhu burst out in anger.

But before he could finish, Elder Du interrupted him with an icy tone. He then uttered a fact that was extremely embarrassing for Song Jinhu. ”Doctor Song, if I’m not mistaken, you came to Northern Mountain a few days ago to challenge me to a medical competition. We had five contests in total. You won two and lost three, which means you lost. Isn’t that right?”

”What!?”

”Doctor Song privately challenged you to a medical contest and lost?”

”That’s impossible! Our Doctor Song is the best practitioner of Korean Medicine in the Republic of Korea! How could he possibly lose?”

...

The South Koreans erupted in an uproar, as they had been completely unaware of this incident.

It’s a well-known fact that the pride of the South Koreans is world-renowned; the one word they cannot accept is ”lose”! This was especially true for Song Jinhu, who was currently the number one medical practitioner in the Republic of Korea and a recipient of the nation’s highest medical achievement award. If such a person was defeated, wouldn’t it prove their Korean Medicine was incompetent? Their best practitioner had lost to someone from Chinese Medicine, and not even to one of Huaxia’s most formidable experts at that. This was simply unacceptable! Their arrogant pride felt as if it had suffered a massive blow.

Hearing this, Song Jinhu’s face changed instantly, turning ghastly. He had indeed been full of himself, believing his medical skills were peerless and that no one in Chinese Medicine could possibly surpass him. That was why he had secretly sought out Elder Du for a competition. The result, however, had been a devastating blow that he found impossible to accept.

He, Song Jinhu, the number one practitioner of Korean Medicine in the Republic of Korea and recipient of the national award for medical excellence, had actually lost! He had lost to a practitioner of Chinese Medicine! It was like a vicious slap across his proud, arrogant face, leaving him feeling as disgusted as if he had swallowed a fly. Most importantly, he hadn’t dared to mention this to his companions.

He, Song Jinhu, was the face of the Korean Medicine community of the Republic of Korea! But now, he had lost, and not even to Huaxia’s strongest practitioner of Chinese Medicine, but to some old man with just ’a bit of fame and prestige’. If word of this got out, how would the Korean Medicine community in the Republic of Korea view him? This would be a colossal disgrace to them and their nation! The blame would be immense!

At this thought, Song Jinhu couldn’t contain his shame and anger, retorting, ”That was only because the patients you treated happened to have simpler conditions than mine. You were lucky to win three rounds, so it doesn’t count! I haven’t lost.”

To protect the reputation of Korean Medicine in the Republic of Korea, and to mitigate the slander he would face if this leaked, Song Jinhu went all in, shamelessly refusing to acknowledge his defeat.

”Well, well, so this is the so-called number one practitioner of Korean Medicine, Mr. Song Jinhu? Truly something else. That thick skin of yours could give a city wall a run for its money. Are all you South Korean doctors like this? Such sore losers?” Before Elder Du could even get angry, Chen Fei had already started mocking him.

So this was the so-called number one practitioner of Korean Medicine from the Invincible Universe South Korea. Not much skill, but his skin was certainly impressive.

”You... shut up! Is it your place to speak? A youngster who probably doesn’t even know the first thing about medicine dares to lecture me, Song Jinhu? How arrogant and ignorant!” Enraged by Chen Fei’s mockery, Song Jinhu bellowed without a second thought.

What was his status and standing? He was the most brilliant practitioner of Korean Medicine in the Republic of Korea today! A recipient of the highest award in medicine! He had even treated magnates from major conglomerates like LG, SK, and Three Stars on multiple occasions, with each consultation fee being no less than one hundred thousand US dollars! When had he ever been berated so publicly by a youth?

”Shut up? I think the one who should shut up is you. You’re overestimating yourself.” An angry, aged voice cut in. Elder Du stepped in front of Song Jinhu and said coldly, ”Doctor Song, Song Jinhu, do you have any idea that the young man you claim knows nothing about medicine actually possesses medical skills ten, even a hundred times greater than my own?! And you, a defeated opponent, have the audacity to criticize Doctor Chen? Have you no shame!?”

BOOM!

What!?

Liu Chudong, the flight attendant, and the others were stunned.

Huang Kaisheng and the many other passengers in the cabin were also stunned.

The entire group of Koreans, the woman with glasses, and even Song Jinhu himself were utterly flabbergasted.

Clearly, they had never dreamed that the esteemed Elder Du of Northern Mountain City, widely recognized as the number one practitioner of Chinese Medicine in Jiangnan Province, a designated expert for the Central Health Bureau, and an honorary representative of the Traditional Medicine Association, would personally utter such earth-shattering words. He... he actually said his medical skills weren’t even one-tenth, or one-hundredth, of that wet-behind-the-ears kid’s? Were... were they dreaming!?

The kid looked to be in his early twenties at most. They didn’t even know if he had graduated from university, since becoming a doctor required five years of study for just a bachelor’s degree, and an eight-year continuous program for a bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate! How could this young brat, who had probably never even truly set foot in society, possibly possess medical skills superior to Elder Du, the top practitioner in Jiangnan Province? It was unbelievable, like some kind of joke.

And yet, those words had come directly from Elder Du’s own mouth.

”You, you, you...” As Song Jinhu and the others witnessed this and heard those words, their expressions changed uncontrollably. Regardless of the truth of the statement, the fact that it came from a titan of Chinese Medicine like Elder Du, a figure of his status and prestige, changed everything. At the very least, Song Jinhu, who had just been looking down on Chen Fei, was instantly reduced to a ridiculous clown, a rude and classless barbarian!

After all, Song Jinhu had already lost to Elder Du. But according to Elder Du, Chen Fei’s skills were ten, even a hundred times greater than his. What did that mean? It meant that Song Jinhu, like a novice swordsman with a frog-in-a-well mentality, had arrogantly mocked a grandmaster of the Sword Dao like Ximen Chuixue for not understanding swords.

It was like being slapped across the face again and again in public.

Suddenly, Song Jinhu’s face turned ashen with fury. His body trembled, and he opened his mouth to argue but found himself completely unable to form a rebuttal.

As for the Korean woman with glasses, who had been so haughty earlier, her face was now pale with fright. She had shrunk back into her seat, not daring to utter a single word.

It seems bullying the weak and fearing the strong is a universal trait.

”Fine, fine, fine! You’ve made your point! All you know is how to slander and target us Koreans, disrespecting our Korean Medicine. Hmph! We Koreans are magnanimous. We won’t stoop to the level of people like you.” Realizing that staying any longer would only bring more humiliation, Song Jinhu huffed out a final remark and turned to leave.

”Trying to leave? Fine by me. But it seems you’ve forgotten something, Mr. Song Jinhu, you ’magnanimous’ Korean,” Chen Fei suddenly said, stopping him in his tracks.

”What do you mean!? Are you really trying to make us Korean doctors boycott this Chinese Medicine symposium and cause an international incident?” Song Jinhu’s face darkened with fury. He had already backed down, but Chen Fei was still pushing him.

”Song Jinhu, if you Korean doctors are unwilling to attend the symposium, you can all crawl right back to your country. I hardly think a loser like you has any qualifications to discuss medicine with us,” Elder Du sneered.

”You...”

Hearing this, Song Jinhu was consumed by rage, his face burning with pain as if it had been struck repeatedly by a million-pound hammer. He was utterly and completely humiliated, inside and out.

”Elder Du is right. Honestly, I really don’t see what’s so special about your Korean Medicine that you’re all so proud of it. It’s just leftover tricks our Huaxia ancestors couldn’t be bothered with anymore, yet you brainless fools treasure it like gold. But whatever, I won’t waste my breath on people living in a dream. You want to leave? Fine. You and that glasses-wearing Korean woman will apologize to this flight attendant. Admit you were being unreasonable and causing trouble, and then you can go. Otherwise, you lot can come with me to the police station after we land. I have plenty of time to spare today, more than enough to entertain you.”

His words were no empty threat. He had plenty of time, as he wasn’t in a rush to get to Capital City. He truly didn’t mind spending some of it dealing with these Koreans who dared to act so arrogantly on Huaxia soil. Cause a scene and then just walk away? Please, who do you think you are? Not even your so-called president of South Korea has that privilege.

”You, you, you...” Song Jinhu and the other Koreans nearly exploded with rage. They couldn’t believe this Huaxia bastard was so aggressive and unrelenting. They were foreigners, distinguished guests from South Korea! They were here to represent Korean Medicine at the seventh Chinese Medicine symposium, and their Doctor Song Jinhu was the number one practitioner of Korean Medicine in the Republic of Korea!

And now this little bastard was demanding they apologize!? Apologize? Apologize my ass! All the Koreans glowered at Chen Fei, their faces dark and seething with rage.

The woman with glasses was even more incensed, screeching, ”Apologize? You want me to apologize to this Huaxia bitch? Impossible! What is she? We are Koreans! We are respected foreign guests from South Korea! What kind of attitude is this? I’m going to report you to your government, to your superiors!”

Her foul attitude instantly enraged everyone present.

What a piece of work.
