Medical Sage

”What have I done? You should be asking yourself what you did,” Chen Fei snorted coldly. He lifted his hand, and Chen Weishan’s neck suddenly felt as if something was grasping it. He was lifted into the air, his feet slowly leaving the ground until his head almost hit the ceiling. Then, with a BANG, he was slammed fiercely onto the floor.

”You should know that everyone has a line you don’t cross. Even if it were the Heavenly King Laozi himself, I would drag him down from his lofty divine altar if he dared to harass my mother. Do you believe me?” Chen Fei’s eyes swept menacingly over Chen Weishan, who was sprawled on the ground. He spat out each chilling word, his final question sounding like ice shattering on the floor, freezing them to the bone.

HISS!

Although Wang Dashan had witnessed Chen Fei’s miraculous abilities before, seeing them again now still sent a jolt of terror through him, drenching him in a cold sweat. After all, a scene like this was no joke. Apart from those figures of legend, even an Innate Ancient Martial Artist like him was completely incapable of such a feat, which was precisely what made it so terrifying.

If even an Innate Ancient Martial Artist like Wang Dashan was this frightened, breaking out in a cold sweat, it went without saying how the other Elite Members of Flying Leopard in the room felt. They couldn’t stop their bodies from trembling, and a cold sweat instantly soaked their clothes.

They had long known that Chief Instructor Chen Fei’s power was terrifying—otherwise, he couldn’t have annihilated a force like Tiger Leopard Hall. But what they were witnessing now...

Is this something a human is capable of?

At that moment, they could only stare with wide, terrified eyes, trembling as they gazed at Chen Fei. The shock in their hearts was simply beyond words.

”No, don’t, cough... let go of me! You little bastard, let me go, cough, cough...” Despite being scared out of his wits, his eyes filled with terror as he stared at Chen Fei, Chen Weishan’s mouth remained foul. Even as breathing became difficult, he continued to yell and curse.

It seemed he truly believed from the bottom of his heart that a junior like Chen Fei would never dare, nor could he ever, do anything to an elder like him. After all, he was Chen Weishan, and his father was Chen Huaqin!

”It seems you’re the type who won’t give up until you’ve hit a dead end. I’ve given you plenty of chances, but you failed to cherish them. So be it.”

A terrifying chill flashed through Chen Fei’s eyes as he continued coldly, ”You should know this, right? Besides being an Ancient Martial Artist, I have another identity... I’m also a doctor. Originally, if you had known to back down today, I couldn’t be bothered to make things difficult for you. I would have given you a small punishment as a lesson, let you spend a few years in jail, and we would have called it even. But since you’re so utterly clueless, fine...”

As soon as he finished speaking, he pointed a finger at Chen Weishan.

A surge of Spiritual Energy entered the latter’s body through his acupoints, causing Chen Weishan to shudder violently. It felt as if millions of ants were suddenly crawling over every inch of his skin, gnawing at his very flesh and blood.

The sensation, the sheer agony, caused hysterical screams to erupt from his throat as his hands frantically clawed at his own skin. In just a few moments, Chen Weishan had torn his own clothes and pants to shreds. His body trembled uncontrollably from the unbearable itching as he rolled ceaselessly on the ground. His fingers never stopped digging into his flesh, leaving bloody scratches and deep gashes everywhere. He was tearing away his own skin, piece by piece...

The feeling was worse than death.

”Spare... spare me. Please, I beg you, spare me...” Chen Weishan rolled into a corner of the room, slamming hard against the wall with a THUD. Then, with snot and tears streaming down his face, he begged Chen Fei for mercy, his voice so hoarse it was unsettling.

The room fell deathly silent. Aside from Chen Weishan’s hysterical screams and the heavy, trembling breaths of everyone else, it was utterly quiet.

Both Wang Dashan and the Elite Members of Flying Leopard stared at the scene in disbelief. A pool of blood was already forming beneath Chen Weishan as he frantically clawed at himself and rolled on the floor. This... this was simply too horrifying. They couldn’t believe what they were seeing was real.

They were all petrified, a chill racing up their spines as their faces turned deathly pale. Their bodies trembled uncontrollably with a fear they couldn’t suppress.

They could swear this was the most terrifying, most spine-chilling, most heart-stopping thing they had ever witnessed in their entire lives. In a flash, their clothes were soaked through with cold sweat once more.

It was only at this moment that they truly understood just how terrifying Chief Instructor Chen Fei was.

This man isn’t human.

”Alright, take him away,” Chen Fei suddenly ordered. ”If he’s not dead in ten minutes, just keep him locked up.”

”Yes, Chief Instructor!” The Flying Leopard members snapped to attention, nodding their heads like chickens pecking at grain. Without a moment’s hesitation, they hauled away the still-convulsing, wildly rolling Chen Weishan.

At the same time, a trace of pity and sympathy for Chen Weishan appeared in their eyes.

Ten minutes? Given his state, it’s doubtful he could even last half that time. Amen...

Just then, Wang Dashan’s phone rang.

”Chief Instructor Chen, I need to take this call,” Wang Dashan said, his brow furrowing as he looked at the caller ID.

Chen Fei nodded slightly.

”Hello, this is Wang Dashan of Flying Leopard... Who is this?” Wang Dashan answered, but his expression suddenly changed mid-sentence, and his words caught in his throat, making Chen Fei look on with a hint of curiosity.

The next moment, however, Wang Dashan handed the phone to Chen Fei, his expression grave. ”Chief Instructor Chen, it’s for you. It’s the chief from the Celestial Group of Capital City.”

”The Celestial Group of Capital City?” Chen Fei was taken aback. The name was somewhat unfamiliar; it seemed he had never heard of it before.

”The Celestial Group is one of the Four Departments of Capital City,” Wang Dashan explained. ”Like our Flying Leopard, it’s a Special Department of the Republic. However, in terms of rank, heritage, and strength, the Four Departments of Capital City are far superior to us. They’re the leaders in this system. Also, if I recall correctly, the Celestial Group used to be under the purview of Elder Master Chen.”

”Under Elder Master Chen’s purview?” Hearing this, Chen Fei’s expression darkened. He felt he had already guessed something. He expressionlessly took the phone from Wang Dashan and said coolly, ”Hello, this is Chen Fei. Who am I speaking to?”

”So, you’re Chen Fei?” A cold, aged voice came through the earpiece, making him frown.

The voice paused briefly before continuing in an imperious, hoarse tone that was deeply unsettling. ”My surname is Yie, but there’s no need for you to know who I am. Your rank isn’t high enough. I’ll ask you this: is Chen Huaqin’s son in your custody? Release him. Now! Immediately! I don’t want to repeat myself.”

”Release him?” Chen Fei’s eyes lowered slightly, narrowing. A faint, ruthless chill surged in his pitch-black, crystal-clear pupils. This old geezer... calling out of nowhere and acting so arrogant.

”Do you not understand me?” the voice on the other end of the line roared, its owner enraged that Chen Fei would dare to hesitate. ”Chen Huaqin’s son is a disciple of the Old Chen Family, of noble blood! Who gave you the gall and the authority to do this? As an Elder of the Celestial Group, I command you: release him immediately, then come to Capital City to beg for forgiveness! Otherwise, you will bear the consequences.”

In the eyes of a distinguished Elder of the Celestial Group like him, a so-called special department like Flying Leopard was a second or third-tier organization, completely worthless. For Chen Fei to dare hesitate after hearing his command sent his sense of superiority surging into a towering rage.

How dare he hesitate? Does he have a death wish? Does he not understand the chain of command, the difference between superiors and inferiors?

”Tell me,” Chen Fei’s indifferent voice rang chillingly through the handset into the other man’s ear, ”did you just get your head slammed in a door? Is there something wrong with your brain?” He then added coolly, ”An Elder of the Celestial Group? Apologies, I have no idea what that is. But it seems you want to stick up for someone? Fine. Make sure to wash your neck and wait for me in Capital City. It won’t be long before we meet there. And then... Hmph!”

Chen Fei snorted coldly and hung up.

At the same time, within the Celestial Group’s headquarters in Capital City, an old man in a loose black robe stared blankly at his phone, seemingly stunned that Chen Fei had dared to hang up on him. And he had even been told to wash his neck and wait in Capital City!? The old man’s face contorted with rage.

CRACK!

The phone in his hand instantly disintegrated into a cloud of dust.

The atmosphere in the room was oppressive. Chen Huaqin, who was also present, was shaken by the scene. He looked at the old man in the loose black robe, a new sense of panic and unease in his eyes. ”Elder Yie, how did it go? Did that brat agree to release him?”

The old man in the loose black robe narrowed his ancient eyes. His expression turned utterly grim as he said slowly, ”No... He hung up on me.”

”What!? He dared to hang up on you?” Chen Huaqin exclaimed in disbelief.

Everyone knew the hierarchy. Within the system of special departments, the relationship between the Celestial Group of Capital City and Flying Leopard was like that of the provincial public security department to a municipal bureau—a clear superior and subordinate. For a member of a subordinate department to not only defy an order from a superior leader but to also hang up the phone... this was outrageously audacious! Where did he get such confidence? Such gall? He was too arrogant
