”That’s right, Brother Fei. I haven’t done anything, so I can’t take so many shares. Otherwise, my dad will definitely give me hell when I get home,” Huang Feng said, immediately shaking his head. It was simply too much for him to accept.

After all, it would be a different story if it were someone else, but the person inviting him into this business was Chen Fei—Brother Fei. This was a man his own father, the mayor, respected as if he were some urban legend or a living deity. How could he dare to take advantage? Doing so would just be asking for trouble.

”How about this?” Seeing the situation, Young Master Gao Yuan thought for a moment before speaking. ”Young Master Feng and I will each take 7.5%. Miss Zhao, you and your husband will each take 5%. Brother Fei, you can do whatever you want with the rest. How’s that?”

”Okay, let’s do that. I think that’s fine,” Young Master Feng said without the slightest hesitation.

”But... if we each take 5%, that’s 10% combined. Isn’t that still too much?” Zhang Long asked, still hesitant. Even 10% represented nearly twenty-three million yuan. Wasn’t that an excessive amount?

”It’s not too much. Honestly, the three of us will probably be hands-off investors down the line. You two are the ones who will be doing the hard work, so 5% each really isn’t too much. In fact, I think it’s a little low...” Chen Fei said with a slight frown.

”Alright, in that case, we’ll consider it a gift. Thank you, Young Master Feng, Young Master Gao, and you, Chen Fei,” Zhao Le said.

”But... ah, never mind. We’ll see how things go,” Chen Fei said, rubbing his chin. ”Why don’t you two get the preliminary preparations started tomorrow? Just give me an account number, and I’ll transfer the money over.”

”Then I’ll set off for Sky-reaching Cloud, the Qii Family’s territory, and Shangbei tomorrow to investigate the situation,” Young Master Gao Yuan immediately declared.

”I’ll go to Wanhai City tomorrow, then,” Huang Feng added with a smile. ”I remember that kid just got back from his trip, so it’s the perfect time to visit.”

”Then we’ll start on the initial preparations right away. As for Tongzhou City...” Zhao Le said, turning her gaze to Chen Fei. Clearly, the most pressing issue was settling things in Tongzhou City. If they could lock that down, everything else would be much smoother.

”I’ll go check out Tongzhou tomorrow. It shouldn’t be a problem,” Chen Fei stated without hesitation.

And with that, the night’s investment meeting formally concluded.

Meanwhile, on a street not far from the Green Bamboo Medicinal Cuisine House, a black Audi slowly pulled up and parked by the curb.

A burly, bald man with a stern face and a cold, sharp gaze stepped out of the car. The intimidating, baleful aura he exuded immediately made all of Brother Cai’s underlings tremble and shiver involuntarily.

It was evident this man was the backup Yang Cai had summoned. One look was enough to tell he was not to be trifled with. Such a potent killing aura was something one could only possess after having drawn blood.

”Brother Liangg, you’re finally here! You have to back us up this time, brother. That kid is way too arrogant! He doesn’t even respect the Black Clothes Gang!” Upon seeing the imposing bald man, Brother Cai’s eyes lit up as if he’d found his savior, and he eagerly hurried forward.

After all, this Brother Liangg was no ordinary person. He was, without a doubt, one of the top enforcers for the Black Clothes Gang, and his fighting skills were terrifyingly formidable. Therefore, Chen Fei, who only knew some half-baked kung fu, was no match for him. Tonight, I’ll make you regret this!

”What exactly happened?” Brother Liangg asked, his voice cold and his brow slightly furrowed.

In truth, he hadn’t wanted to come tonight. But the one who had personally called and begged him was Yang Cai, the cousin of their Black Clothes Gang leader, Zheng Kuangyi. As the saying goes, even if you don’t give face to the monk, you must give face to the Buddha. Although in his eyes, Yang Cai was less than a common gangster—utterly worthless—his family tie to the leader was a factor he couldn’t ignore. So, he had come. He could just consider it a way to unwind.

”It was like this. We wanted to eat at that Green Bamboo Medicinal Cuisine House, but the owner looked down on us. Damn it, he flat-out refused to give us a VIP room! Who the hell does he think I am? My cousin is Zheng...”

Brother Cai was in the middle of his bragging when he caught Brother Liangg’s impatient, cold glare. He flinched, chuckled awkwardly, and got back to the point. ”So, we caused a scene. There was this little punk who was tough as hell. He beat all of our guys by himself and even had the gall to dare us to keep coming at him.”

”Brother Liangg, everyone on the streets knows I, Yang Cai, am with the Black Clothes Gang! Everyone knows my cousin is Zheng Kuangyi, Leader Zheng! For that punk to be so brazen, he’s clearly disrespecting our Black Clothes Gang!” Yang Cai embellished, adding fuel to the fire and stirring up trouble. His sycophantic display made the so-called Brother Liangg frown.

Of course, he knew he’d be lucky if even a tenth of what came out of Yang Cai’s mouth was true. Disrespect the Black Clothes Gang? Heh, in Northern Mountain today, who would dare?

Deciding not to waste any more brainpower on it, he spoke indifferently, ”Alright, let’s go. I’d like to see just who dares to disrespect our Black Clothes Gang.”

”Exactly! That bastard was so arrogant. Brother Liangg, you have to teach him a lesson he’ll never forget!” Yang Cai exclaimed excitedly.

”Hey, Brother Cai, Brother Liangg! Look, it seems like that kid’s coming out now,” one of the thugs behind Brother Cai suddenly said, pointing toward the entrance of the Green Bamboo Medicinal Cuisine House. Sure enough, Chen Fei and his friends had finished their meal and were emerging, laughing and talking amongst themselves.

”Brother Liangg, that’s him! That’s the little bastard!” Yang Cai immediately pointed his finger at Chen Fei, his voice full of indignation, desperate for Brother Liangg to avenge him.

SLAP!

”Shut the hell up!”

The next moment, a dull thud echoed in everyone’s ears.

The burly, bald man known as Brother Liangg had fiercely slapped Brother Cai across the head. His previously cold, sharp eyes were now inexplicably trembling, his pupils constricting as if he had just witnessed something terrifying.

Everyone was stunned.

Yang Cai was stunned, too.

He couldn’t understand why he had just been slapped out of nowhere. Wasn’t Brother Liangg the backup he had called for? So why this?

”Yang Cai, you motherfucker... you’re telling me *he’s* the one?” Just as Yang Cai and his lackeys stood there trembling with confusion, the bald powerhouse, Brother Liangg, swallowed hard. His voice, too, was shaking as he spoke.

Of course, he knew who Chen Fei was. Near the park by Guan Shiyin’s apartment complex, he and another ace enforcer from the gang had confidently attacked Chen Fei. The result? They were utterly dominated, not even a match for him. Even their leader, Zheng Kuangyi, had been taught a harsh lesson and was slapped repeatedly across the face. To this day, Leader Zheng hadn’t dared to make a peep about it. He knew all of this crystal clear.

But that wasn’t the most terrifying part. The most terrifying part was that, a while ago, all the high-ranking elites from the Tiger Leopard Hall’s Northern Mountain City branch had vanished overnight—uprooted and completely erased! Their entire Black Clothes Gang had been petrified. Every single member felt a chill run from their head to their toes, their spines practically radiating cold fear.

Compared to the Tiger Leopard Hall, their Black Clothes Gang was truly second-rate. Yet someone had dared to move against such a behemoth. It was simply unthinkable.

Later, the Black Clothes Gang had used its special channels to acquire a photograph from the provincial level. It seemed the person in the photo was the one who had wiped out the Tiger Leopard Hall’s branch overnight. When their leader, Zheng Kuangyi, got that photo, he nearly pissed his pants in fear.

Because the young man in the photo was the very same one who had thrashed them in the park. He was also... the ”little... little... little bastard” that Yang Cai was talking about...

”Little bastard my ass!”

THUMP!

As these thoughts raced through his mind, even a top enforcer like Brother Liangg was consumed by a profound fear. His eyelids twitched uncontrollably before he savagely kicked Yang Cai in the stomach, sending him flying. ”Are you fucking looking to die?” he roared.

BLURGH!

”Brother Liangg, no, I... you... Who is he?” Yang Cai spat, dry-heaving on the ground. But he wasn’t an idiot. Seeing the drastic change in Brother Liangg’s attitude and tone, he knew he had stirred up major trouble. ”Who is he?” he asked frantically, his face a mask of despair.

”Who is he? You dare ask me who he is? Don’t you know that even your cousin, our Leader Zheng, doesn’t dare to provoke him? He even got slapped around by him! Who the fuck do you think you are? Do you have a death wish?”

The more Brother Liangg spoke, the angrier he became. He couldn’t stop himself from raising his hand again. SLAP! The blow left five bright red finger marks on Yang Cai’s face.

”Ah?! Even my cousin was beaten by him?”

”Gasp! L-Leader Zheng was slapped by him? H-How is that possible!?”

Clutching his face, Yang Cai was completely stunned silent by those words. The thugs behind him sucked in a sharp breath, their bodies shaking uncontrollably.

Wha-what the hell? Leader Zheng was slapped by that kid? Are you kidding me? That’s Leader Zheng! The boss of the Black Clothes Gang!

As this absurd information settled in their minds, everyone broke out in a cold sweat, their faces turning deathly pale as they panted heavily. As for Brother Cai, he trembled so violently his fingernails turned blue.

He understood perfectly what it meant if even his cousin, Zheng Kuangyi, wouldn’t dare to provoke this person.

It meant that tonight, they had truly run headfirst into a steel plate.
