Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 197: Chapter 197: THE VESSEL & THE VEIL

Orion stood alone on the command ridge with the dark cloth tight over his eyes. He did not need them. His spiritual sense spread across the entire training ground, tracing every commander, every shifting shield, and every ripple in the air with effortless ease. He heard the sharp calls of formation leaders, felt the heavy impact of simulation bursts against reinforced plates, and followed the tactical flow without moving a muscle. The blindfold rested comfortably against his skin, and he let the familiar weight ground him. The courtyard felt alive with movement, but his mind stayed perfectly still.

He thought back to the moment he had lifted the blindfold earlier. Even when he forced his gaze onto a single stone pillar, the information kept piling up. His skull throbbed, and a heavy pressure built behind his eyes that threatened to split them open. The problem was not focus. The problem was space. Genesis Sight tore reality down to its bones and dumped everything into his head at once. His spiritual sea and his nerves were still built for a Star-tier body. They cracked under the weight.

’It is not just the sight,’ he realized. ’The eye woke me up to dozens of new laws. Keeping them separate wastes my focus. Every time I cycle them, they push against each other and drain my attention. I am carrying eighteen separate weights when I only need one.’

He ran the problem through his mind and found the answer on his own. He did not need a teacher to tell him what to do. He would merge them. All existing laws, all the new ones he pulled in while the eye was open. He would strip away the boundaries and force them into a single, unified principle. Chaos Law. One ring for his brain. One ring for his heart. One ring woven through every cell. And upon breakthrough, one final existence ring to tie them all together. His energy would shift into Chaos Energy. His vessel would expand. The sight would finally have room to breathe.

He lowered his hand and tapped his comms line. Cassia and Rene pulled into the secure channel with quiet clicks. He kept his voice low and direct. He ordered the entire staging zone to push three light-years into dead space. The Kreth’mar vanguard was six days out, and he refused to risk another clash near Earth or Mars. Cassia confirmed the civilian grids were locked. Rene reported fleet readiness at ninety-six percent. He told them he was entering seclusion to force a dual breakthrough. Perfect Lifeform evolution, then the Third Gene Lock. He left tactical command in their hands. If the vanguard entered strike range, Rene would pull him out. Otherwise, he would not break concentration. He cut the channel, folded space, and stepped onto the transport line. The drill ended. The real work began.

Orion descended into the deep meditation vault while the heavy blast doors sealed behind him with a solid thud. The air inside was cool and still. He walked to the center, pulled Wukong’s space ring from his belt, and opened it. Supreme exotic crystals, refined mana, pure qi, and ancient chi spilled onto the polished stone in heavy piles. He arranged them into a tight geometric pattern, making sure the stones formed a complete loop that touched at every edge. He activated the Law of Energy. The foreign power sources turned into pure cultivation fuel that washed over the stone floor. The formation glowed with a steady light. He laid out the sequence in his head. Perfect Lifeform first. Cells would thicken. Nerve pathways would widen. Blood would turn into heavy energy conduits. Then, the Third Gene Lock. His spiritual sea would stretch wide. His core would harden. The Chaos Law would lock into place. He knew the pressure would climb fast. His meridians would stretch until they threatened to tear. He did not fear it. He planned to ride it.

Orion sat cross-legged in the center of the glowing array. He checked the blindfold to make sure it stayed tight, then centered his breathing. He did not open his eyes. He did not need to. His spiritual sense locked onto his own body, tracing every pulse and every threshold waiting to crack. He triggered the sequence. The Law of Energy flooded his pathways. The Infinite Stellar Genesis Method spun up inside him. Cells ignited one by one. Bone density thickened. Nerve pathways widened. Blood turned into liquid light that ran hotter and faster with every passing second. Pain spiked through his spine, sharp and immediate, like a blade dragged along his back. He did not brace against it. He breathed into the ache, guided the flow, and forced the transformation forward. ’Capacity first. Structure second. Then the merge.’ The cellular evolution climbed toward its limit. His skin glowed faintly beneath his suit. The vault floor cracked under the rising pressure. His meridians stretched thin, then held firm as the new structure locked into place. The Perfect Lifeform threshold approached, and he pushed past it without breaking rhythm.

He felt his muscles tighten as old fibers tore and rebuilt themselves in thicker, denser strands. His lungs drew in cool air that burned on the way down, and he pushed the heat outward through his pores. Sweat beaded on his forehead and turned to thin vapor. His heart beat slower, but each strike carried more weight, pumping heavy, refined energy through pathways that had never been meant to carry this much power. He did not stop. He let the pain roll through him, accepted the burning, and forced the next wave of cells to ignite. The vault shook faintly. Dust fell from the ceiling and scattered across the floor. His jaw clenched as a deep, grinding ache settled into his marrow. He knew this was the breaking point. If he pulled back now, the evolution would stall, and his body would trap the excess energy in tight, unstable knots. He exhaled slowly, dropped his shoulders, and pushed forward. The cellular network snapped into place. Every node now cycled energy without fatigue. His body was no longer just a vessel. It was a refined engine built to carry heavier loads.

He immediately shifted his focus to the merger. He pulled all eighteen laws inward. He stripped the boundaries between them. Fire, Water, Space, Void, Gravity, Lightning, Life, Death, and the dozens of new principles he had pulled from the Genesis Sight. He forced them to collide, compress, and fuse. At first, the friction burned. His mind strained under the sudden weight of conflicting currents. He held steady. He guided them toward a single center. The friction broke. The currents twisted together, shedding their old shapes, and collapsed into a thick, swirling dark gold. Chaos Law. It formed in his chest, heavy and complete.

One Chaos Ring sparked into existence in his brain. Another formed in his heart. A third spread through every cell in his newly evolved body. They turned in perfect sync. He fed them Chaos Energy, and the thick fuel poured through his new pathways without resistance. His spiritual sea trembled. The Third Gene Lock engaged. Pressure built. The threshold cracked. He did not rush it. He fed it steady, controlled energy, matching the rhythm of his evolved cells. His mind stayed quiet. He watched the rings turn, felt the spiritual sea stretch outward, and let the expansion happen at its own pace. The heavy weight in his chest lifted slightly as the rings locked into a stable orbit. His breathing deepened. The strain shifted from sharp pain to a steady, heavy pull, like walking against a strong wind that never broke.

He pushed one last time. The existence ring sparked to life in his core. It wrapped around his brain ring, his heart ring, and every cellular ring. It tied them together into a single, unbreakable loop. Chaos Energy surged. It did not just fill him. It poured out. The aura broke through the vault walls. It rolled across the mountain range, washed over the oceans, and climbed into the sky. It hit Earth like a slow, heavy tide.

Cassia stopped in the middle of a briefing. Her hands dropped to her sides. She felt the weight press against her chest, thick and absolute. Nyla looked up from her meditation mat. Her breath caught. The air itself felt heavier, older, and dangerously still. Across the training grounds, commanders dropped their weapons. They did not fall. They just stood, feeling the pressure lock their joints and quiet their thoughts. In the Jovian shipyards, Wukong stopped walking. He turned toward Earth, his casual posture gone. He felt the Chaos Energy ripple through the void, sharp and untamed. His eyes widened slightly. ’Didn’t he just break through a few days ago,’ Wukong thought. ’He tore the old rules down and built something heavier. That is not just a realm jump. That is a foundation rewrite.’ On Mars, civilians looked up from the streets. The sky felt closer. The wind slowed. Every cultivator, soldier, and worker felt the same heavy presence settle over the solar system. It was not hostile. It was just too massive to ignore.

Orion opened his eyes behind the blindfold. He did not need to look. His spiritual sense traced the vault walls, the cracked stone, the glowing array. He felt the Chaos Rings turn inside him. One in the brain. One in the heart. One in the cells. One in his existence. They moved together, pulling Chaos Energy through every pathway without friction. The Genesis Sight still rested behind his eyes, heavy and sharp, but the vessel could finally hold it. The overload would not split his skull. He could control the flood now. He stood slowly. The stone floor beneath him was cracked and smooth from the pressure. He tapped his comms channel. Rene’s voice came through clear. ”Vitals stable. Structure complete. Energy conversion at one hundred percent. Fleet holds position. No enemy contact.”

Orion nodded. He folded space and stepped out of the vault. The imperial corridor felt quiet. The heavy weight of his presence lingered in the air, but he kept it tight. He walked toward the observation deck. He reached the glass and looked out. The Dyson Swarm glowed against the dark. Mars hung blue and green. Lunar cities shimmered. The empire moved. Prepared. Waiting. He rested his hand on the glass. His spiritual sense stretched outward, tracing the solar system with flawless clarity. He felt the quiet pulse of ten million cultivators. He felt the steady drift of the fleet. He felt the cold, empty dark beyond the heliopause. The Kreth’mar would return. They would bring everything they had. They would test his new foundation. He was ready. The blindfold stayed on for now. The sight waited. The next stage had already begun.
