Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 170: Chapter 170: Third Ring Ascension

ORION’S MANSION - UNDERGROUND LABORATORY - DAY 14 - 2:00 PM

Orion stood outside the cultivation chamber feeling genuinely excited for the first time since completing the second ring halo, because everything was ready—his foundation had been perfected through meridian enhancement and acupoint filling, his spiritual power had been elevated through Mars visualization, his realm had been consolidated and stabilized, and his body was practically vibrating with readiness to advance to the next level.

The past weeks had been preparation: three days of intensive training to master control, nine hours of foundation work to optimize his cultivation infrastructure, and time spent ensuring the company operated perfectly without his involvement—all of it leading to this moment where he would finally resume systematic advancement through the remaining ring halos.

”Chamber prepared,” Rene’s voice announced through the laboratory speakers, ”exotic energy concentration optimized, monitoring systems calibrated, emergency protocols active—you’re cleared to begin third ring cultivation whenever ready.”

”I’m ready,” Orion confirmed, entering the chamber and feeling the familiar tingle of exotic energy saturating the air even before the door sealed behind him, ”and I’m planning to advance through third ring and immediately begin fourth ring if my body can handle it—the faster I complete all eleven rings, the sooner I can prepare for Second Gene Lock.”

He settled into lotus position at the center of the chamber, liquid exotic energy rising to chest level around him while gaseous energy filled the space above, and the crystalline storage units mounted in the walls began pulsing with soft golden light as they prepared to release their stored power on demand.

This time, unlike the chaotic first and second ring formations, he knew exactly what to do and had infrastructure that would make the process dramatically more efficient.

”Beginning third ring cultivation,” he announced for the monitoring systems, ”activating Infinite Circulation Method at full intensity, utilizing enhanced meridian system and acupoint network—estimated completion time six hours.”

THIRD RING FORMATION - 2:15 PM TO 8:15 PM

Orion activated the Infinite Circulation Method and immediately felt the difference that meridian enhancement made—exotic energy flooded into his body through all five million pore channels like it had during previous cultivation, but instead of flowing chaotically through cellular pathways it was instantly directed into the meridian network, channeled through the hexagonal-mesh-reinforced conduits that guided power with perfect efficiency toward the heart where the third ring would form.

The flow was extraordinary, like comparing a river with a fire hose—where previously energy had trickled through his system with significant loss and waste, now it rushed through optimized channels that eliminated inefficiency completely, and the volume of power he could process simultaneously had increased by at least ten times just from meridian enhancement alone.

”Meridian flow optimal,” he observed with satisfaction, feeling exotic energy coursing through the twenty reinforced pathways like lightning through wires, ”no resistance, no waste, perfect channeling—this is how cultivation is supposed to work.”

The energy converged at his heart where the first two ring halos already existed in concentric golden bands, and he began the compression process that would form the third ring—but this time he had additional infrastructure that made compression far more effective.

The 361 acupoints throughout his body activated automatically as energy levels rose, and instead of being passive storage they became active participants in the cultivation process, each acupoint pulling exotic energy from the environment and the meridians simultaneously, creating 361 separate compression points throughout his body that worked in concert with the main ring formation at his heart.

It was like having 361 subsidiary engines supporting the primary engine, all of them compressing and refining exotic energy in parallel, and the compressed power from the acupoints flowed through the meridians back to his heart where it integrated into the forming third ring with density and purity that exceeded what he’d achieved in previous rings.

”The acupoints are amplifying everything,” Orion realized as he watched the internal process with his enhanced perception, ”they’re not just batteries, they’re cultivation accelerators—each one compressing energy independently and feeding the results back into the main system, multiplying my effective cultivation speed by hundreds of times.”

The third ring halo began forming around his heart exterior to the first two rings, growing steadily as compressed exotic energy slotted into place particle by particle, and the growth rate was fast—far faster than the second ring had formed, faster even than the first ring despite being more complex, because his enhanced infrastructure made the entire process more efficient.

5%... 10%... 20%...

The meridians handled the massive energy throughput without strain, the hexagonal mesh structure preventing any bottlenecks or restrictions, and Orion pushed more power through the system, drawing from liquid energy and gaseous energy and crystalline storage simultaneously, utilizing every available source to maximize cultivation speed.

30%... 40%... 50%...

His Radiant Core spun faster as cultivation intensity increased, processing exotic energy at rates that would have overwhelmed his previous infrastructure, but the enhanced meridians and active acupoints handled the load easily, distributing power throughout his entire body while simultaneously concentrating it at his heart for ring formation.

The Solar system visualization in his mindspace began glowing brighter, responding to the cultivation process, and Orion felt his spiritual power actively guiding the ring formation with precision that his previous attempts had lacked—where before he’d been somewhat clumsy with energy manipulation, now his enhanced spiritual strength let him direct every particle of exotic energy with surgical precision, optimizing compression, eliminating imperfections, creating a third ring halo that was perfect in ways the first two rings weren’t quite.

60%... 70%... 80%...

”This is what systematic cultivation looks like,” he thought with fierce satisfaction, ”not chaotic scrambling but organized progression, not brute force but elegant efficiency, and every improvement to my foundation makes subsequent advancement easier and more effective.”

The acupoints throughout his body pulsed in rhythm with his heartbeat, creating a sensation like his entire being was breathing exotic energy, inhaling power from the environment and exhaling refined enhancement into the forming ring structure, and the feeling was almost meditative in its harmony.

90%... 95%... 98%...

The final compression required maximum focus—forcing the last particles of exotic energy into a structure that was already dense beyond normal material tolerances, compressing physics itself into impossible configurations that should collapse but held firm through his willpower and the Stellar Body Refinement Method’s fundamental principles.

99.5%... 99.8%... 99.9%...

THIRD RING COMPLETION - 8:15 PM

The third ring halo snapped complete with a sensation like a door slamming shut and locking, the structure achieving perfect stability and immediately beginning to radiate enhancement throughout his entire system.

100%.

The transformation cascaded through Orion’s body with familiar intensity amplified by his enhanced infrastructure—every cell activating simultaneously, muscles restructuring with sounds like wood creaking under stress, bones reinforcing with crystalline density increases, organs optimizing their function, brain rewiring neural pathways for doubled processing capability, and senses expanding outward in waves that made the world suddenly larger and more detailed.

But this time the enhancement flowed through the meridian system, which meant instead of chaotic cellular transformation it was organized and directed, the meridians channeling enhancement to every part of his body simultaneously with perfect distribution, ensuring optimal transformation throughout his entire structure rather than uneven enhancement that required time to balance.

And the acupoints amplified the enhancement, each one serving as a localized concentration point that received the ring halo’s power and intensified it before releasing it into surrounding tissues, creating 361 separate enhancement zones that overlapped and reinforced each other until his entire body was suffused with power that was greater than what the ring halo alone should have provided.

The numbers crystallized in his enhanced consciousness:

THIRD RING COMPLETION - CAPABILITY ASSESSMENT

Baseline Enhancement: Third ring doubles all capabilities → 8x becomes 16x baseline human capability

Meridian Amplification: Enhanced energy circulation efficiency → effective 20% boost to all physical capabilities

Acupoint Amplification: Distributed enhancement zones → effective 30% boost to all physical capabilities

Visualization Amplification: Spiritual power controlling enhancement → effective 25% boost through optimization

Combined Effect: Multiplicative synergy → capabilities reach approximately 800 tons passive strength, Mach 4 passive speed, 200-kilometer psychic range

But Orion realized immediately that the raw numbers weren’t quite right—his actual capabilities felt higher than that calculation suggested, and when he tested by lifting the chamber’s heaviest weight with one hand, he discovered why.

The meridians, acupoints, and visualization weren’t providing fixed percentage boosts—they were creating infrastructure that let him access and utilize his base enhancement more completely, which meant his effective capabilities scaled with however much power he could generate, and the third ring had doubled his generation capacity which meant all the infrastructure bonuses effectively doubled as well.

”Actual capabilities,” he calculated after several tests, ”approximately 800 tons passive strength, Mach 4 passive speed when moving through the enhanced meridian system, and psychic range extending to 200 kilometers because my spiritual power from Mars visualization is guiding the psychic sense with far greater efficiency.”

And with active energy enhancement—flooding his muscles with exotic energy from the Radiant Core and acupoints—he could double those numbers again: 1,600 tons maximum strength, Mach 8 maximum speed, capabilities that transcended human limitations so completely that he was becoming something fundamentally other.

”Third ring complete,” he announced with satisfaction that bordered on triumph, ”enhancement achieved, capabilities scaled beyond projections, infrastructure proving more valuable than raw power—Rene, what’s my body’s adaptation status for fourth ring?”

”Analyzing cellular markers,” Rene responded, her enhanced processing capability delivering results within seconds, ”surprisingly, your body shows minimal saturation—the enhanced meridian system and acupoint network are distributing exotic energy so efficiently that cellular storage hasn’t reached capacity, which means you can begin fourth ring cultivation immediately without requiring adaptation period.”

Orion blinked in surprise because he’d expected to need at least a day between rings based on previous experience, but apparently his infrastructure improvements had solved the saturation problem by spreading energy throughout his entire body instead of concentrating it all in cells.

”The meridians and acupoints are acting as overflow storage,” he realized, ”absorbing excess exotic energy and circulating it continuously, which means my cells never saturate because power is constantly moving through them rather than accumulating—this changes the advancement timeline dramatically.”

”You could potentially complete multiple rings per day,” Rene confirmed, ”though I recommend taking at least a few hours between rings to ensure complete integration and avoid accumulated strain from rapid transformation—perhaps complete third and fourth ring today, rest overnight, then continue with fifth and sixth tomorrow?”

”Agreed,” Orion decided, checking his internal state and finding he felt good despite six hours of intensive cultivation, energized rather than exhausted because the enhanced infrastructure made the process less taxing, ”I’ll rest for two hours, eat dinner with Cassia and Nyla, then return for fourth ring cultivation tonight—at this pace I could complete all eleven rings within a week instead of months.”

He exited the cultivation chamber and headed upstairs, his newly enhanced body moving with fluid grace that made his previous post-enhancement clumsiness seem like distant memory, and he was already planning the systematic progression through remaining rings that would bring him to First Gene Lock completion.

The path was clear.

The method was proven.

The advancement would continue.
